I'm trying to find this ad campaign that had a bunch of people telling Sony what they do with the PS3.
If anyone finds it on youtube or somewhere else please post the link

But the PS3 is a computer ;)
I had to...sorry,it just fit so well. There just wasn't a spot like this in the war thread
It clocks in at about a 1.8Ghz G5 from linux benchmarks, so pretty cool. :)
If only it could legally run OS X, than it would be an awesome investment, but Linux... :o

Try an archive and install so as to keep your settings but have a fresh version of the system. Maybe look into having separate accounts for each family member too. :)

Weird Al is a music genius. He can come up with so many funny lines and he never really has to get vulgar or curse a lot. Being funny without swearing is a pretty high accomplishment in my book.

Haha yeah. For the iPad they opened at 9AM and I showed up around 8 and was amazed at the line - I think about 50% of it was Canadians showing up to buy it since it wasnt available internationally though. They also flew through those lines - there were at least 100 people in line ahead of me and I was out by 9:15.
The iPhone sale process requires a bit more work, so I imagine lines will be a bit slower, but hey, who knows?
I have a couple friends going with me so I don't mind the hanging out early :-).
ah yes i forgot about those damn Canadians. what time are you planning on going?

im not to sure how this is relevant. form controls can be controlled via CSS
we do it on all of our sites.
and why would you want them to look prettier against what the site has designed ? the design we choose for our form controls via CSS are designs that fit in with the rest of the site. things like color, control border thinkness, flat, 3d, etc... are all part of layout design
this is like being able to adjust the size of text on a web page after the page has rendered. its fine if your eyes are bad and need bigger text to read it, but the web developers chose that size text cause thats what goes with the site. not cause they just happened to like 10 or 12 point fonts.
just a view.

Minor video editing, get the macbook pro.
Pros on going with the Pro:
It was just refreshed
The 13" offers good enough work area to do minor video editing (I was running on a 12" Powerbook G4 for years before I had to sell it).
It's priced competitively if you're comparing the entry level 13" Pro to the Macbook and MBA.
It's still lightweight, even compared to your Dell notebook.
I know people are telling you to consider the Air but when I was comparing the two I still think the MBP is still the way to go if you're going to perform some editing (Photo or Video). At times I feel some jitter/lag when editing photos on the MBA 11" and 13" base models. People might tell you to go towards the Ultimate for it to perform better but at that point you can upgrade your MBP to outperform the MBA for less.

Definitely more lighting, as well as a small area rug which you can place under your computer desk. Adding frames/mirrors will also make your room look much bigger than it actually is.

Yes, please bring back the clickwheel and add a 2" square OLED touch screen to the next gen iPod nano. More importantly, include the notes, contacts, and calendars they dropped for the 6th gen iPod nano and the capability for apps. I bought a refurb 5th gen for that reason, although I liked the touch screen in principle on the 6th gen iPod nano.

If I use time machine to back all my Snow Leopard files up can I then restore them all into Lion or will this not work? Anybody try it yet?

We write about music we like. I'm a big fan of David Bowie, Bob Dylan, The Velvet Underground, The Stokes, White Stripes, etc, etc... so we'll probably cover a bunch of albums from all of those people and more. We also cover important events in the cities we live in, those being DC and Pittsburgh respectively.

Even free NeoOffice would work great, too.

So I've brought this up in various places other than mac rumors, and as you can probably tell I'm a new member so I'm not sure if this has been brought up before. I am a huge fan of the iPhone and maybe part of it has to do with a fanboy mentality. I have the iPhone 4 and love it. A lot of people I know at school have blackberries and one of the only and most important reasons they have one is because of BBM. Everyone seems to be a huge fan of bbm-ing and getting people's pins and I have to say the idea of it is pretty enticing. I realize many of you will probably say "it is the same as texting" but it does have its differences. Also, people might say "they have tons of apps that already do this". The problem with that is that you have to convince people to get that same app. Currently I use whatsapp, which works well but only a select few people have it, those who I had to convince to get it. What I was thinking is why doesn't apple have a native app for iPhone to iPhone messenger similar to BBM? Seems like a good idea to me, just a thought though.
i don't bother with whatsapp or anything like that, i just use Beejive, which uses msn, yahoo, gtalk, facebook chat, etc all in 1 app, so whichever my friends use, they're there, just add my existing accounts. simples :) my friends use that, or ebuddy or trillian to do the same on their devices, be it blackberry, android or iphone.

I've had to disable them. Getting a message every time someone mentions me on Twitter is beyond annoying.

I just stumbled upon this guide to getting an ancient Mac online. I knew that my Mac Plus was useful for something!

I agree, I'm starting to get sick of these 4 gig downloads for 4.01, 4.02, jeez.
Yep. iOS apps never get that big so having to redownload the entire thing isn't so bad. Even full-fledged games on iOS never reach 1 GB due to the lower res graphics required for an iDevice, and due to the fact that they're lower powered and so they can't include as advanced graphics or the game would be sluggish. On a Mac, this system doesn't work. Oh well, the Mac App Store is still pretty much version 1.0 at this point. I'm sure it'll improve.

I like the whole idea, it works for me - until I realize I'm stuck with Mac, what am I suppose to do with my MP3 player? I guess the logical answer would be, buy an i-pod? Who has the money to go buy everything as soon as it is on the market? Come on folks, give us MP3 users a chance!
