well the server is only handling a few users files and the rest is email/dhcpgateway etc
so im really wondering if sas and raid card is worth it? or better soultions? or should i try to distrub the servers files or just slap 4 identical sata drives in etc.
If the user count isn't that high (low IOPS), then sticking with SATA could suffice (figure ~90 IOPS for a single SATA disk).
There's still very little info to go on here, so it's hard to give you solid answers.

I love polls. They're almost always *********. But fun.
My favorite recently was the American Bar Association poll of lawyers, 30% of whom could not successfully name the 3 branches of the federal government.
EDIT: edesign, you should read this article (http://www.sirc.org/publik/white_van_man.html) and develop more sympathy for the oft-maligned White Van Man...

So has anyone actually used this yet?
Or is everyone using QemuX? (Which is horribly buggy on my Powerbook, at least)

It does indeed fit the 3g. I have a 3g and it fits great. The little plug fits tight. I've had my case for several months now and the plug still fits great. Just as snug and secure as when I first installed it.
Buy one, you won't regret it.

This will probably only interest about 3 people
Fedora Core 4 now has support for PowerPC. Presumably this means Mac. Don't ask me for any more details as that's all I know.

young kids shouldn't have big trucks...they are idiots...i would sue the kid and teach him a leason, get some cash
what would I sue him for? his insurance will definitely change him since he just totalled a pretty pricey vehicle. He was only 17 years old. He was driving a Dodge Ram 2500 extended cab short bed. One huge car.
Me and that car have a lot of memories together. The first time I met it I couldn't figure out to start it, or how to put in drive. I'll miss it dearly. (haha, I love cars as you all know).
Her car is totalled, but at least everyone is ok. I really hate seeing those incidents where the person that caused the accident walks away fine while the other person dies or is burned. She'll be getting a new car (car shopping :) ).

Seeing as it's like an hour drive for me, I really am surprised I've been a Mac guy for 10 years and haven't bothered to go there yet. :D

I'm using a PowerBook G4 running Panther (v10.7.3), with an HP LaserJet 1200 connected either directly by USB or through AirPort Express.
My problems started as a result of one of two simultaneous events. It began when I decided to become efficient. So I bought a) an A5 Filofax into which I could insert alphabetically listed addresses, and b) an AirPort Express.
I set up the AirPort Express, including plugging in the USB from the printer to it, and adding this wireless printer as "HP LaserJet 1200 Living Room" (I couldn't see any way to change the name) in Printer Setup Utility.
I would have liked to use a different name, to make it easier to distinguish the two LaserJets from each other - the driver that operated when I had the printer plugged directly into the computer by USB, and the driver that operated through the AirPort network called Living Room.
All seemed well; I was pleased with how easy it was to print off my normal A4 documents.
I set to work and spent a day typing up my 29 pages of addresses and making them properly alphabetical, setting up the document as an A5 one.
Then I put some A5 paper in the printer and pressed Print, choosing the "Living Room" LaserJet 1200. Printing started halfway down the page, and leaked off the left-hand edge.
I spent the rest of the day, and the hours between 4am and 6am last night, trying *everything*.
Finally I thought of something else. I plugged the printer directly into the computer, chose the USB version of the printer and pressed Print, and it printed off happily.
So obviously the "Living Room" version was corrupt. I deleted it.
Then I went to print out something I was writing and wished to edit, still using the USB directly plugged into the computer. It printed it out starting halfway down the page and leaking off the bottom edge.
I deleted this printer too, and then pressed Add Printer (both in Printer Setup Utility). The Setup Utility offered me two identical options of HP LaserJet 1200, among other options. I chose one and tried. It printed off the edges. I deleted and chose the other and tried. It printed off the edges.
I deleted the Printer Setup Utility Preferences and restarted, and went to Add Printer again. Again it offered me two HP LaserJet 1200 items. I tried Manual; it told me that there were multiple versions of the printer description.
I searched for and deleted the printer description (only one) for HP LaserJet 1200, and also for HP LaserJet 1220, just in case, and restarted. I went to Add Printer, and there they were again, the two HP LaserJet 1200 items.
I tried using an Apple LaserWriter item instead. Still printing off the edges of the pages.
I'm now officially stumped. What have I not done? What should I do? What is causing the problem?
Sorry for the long post, but I wanted to be clear about what I'd tried and not tried. If there's anything I've not tried.

I have the Apple bumper with no screen protector, has no scratches on the screen but I keep my keys and phone separate. The back has a carbon fibre back on, imagine that would be the same if it had no cover on it too.

My new 17" powerbook is only getting 2 hours off a full battery charge. Is that normal? Also, I think I read somewhere you're supposed to let the battery drain to 0% once so it can fully charge. However, the computer automatically sleeps when it runs low on power and never actually gets to 0. When I hit the little button on the battery one green light is always on, no matter how low the power. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

I have one.. It's a hard shell Kate Spade but I've been thinking more about getting a soft case as well. Do the bumpers actually protect anything? I know this is a stupid question, but what is the actual point of them?

They're even uglier in person. I can't justify spending 39 bucks for the cheapest styles. Apple must think that a majority of their buyers are teenage girls or something. God awful colors.

Here are some color designs and a few ideas to work with small spaces.
How? How do you...? But..? What? Forget it! Loved it! :)
Will buy some paint this weekend!
I have already made some changes. The room looks like bigger now! I will make a video after all the changes!
Tks a lot!

What do you mean by migrating is out?
Connect the old hard drive to the new Mac and use the Migration Assistant to transfer your old user to the new Mac.

Today i purchased a Linksys WRT54. The service isn't as good as I hoped for, doesn't quite cover my home, so i'll probably be returning it tomorrow for something more powerfull and consistent.
Do you guys have any suggestions for wireless routers?? Ones with good range and good little to no dropped signals?
I've been reading about the Belkin Wireless Pre N router, and it seems pretty good. Every review says the range is unmatched. So i'm thinking of getting that one.
Here are some reivews if you guys aren't familiar with it (which i'm sure you guys are).

From Apple HK:
My new BTO Air (1.6/4/128)'s shipping was estimated at 3 days, ordered on Friday. It and the ext SuperDrive both shipped by Monday and arrived at my doorstep on Wednesday. (SD shipped from Singapore, Mac shipped from Shanghai)
I guess it depends where the item ships from. If it's from the US (some people have reported that Apple refurbs ship from the US now, some say China) then I guess it should be similar since the estimated shipping time is the same. From China I'd add a few days to the equation.
BTW refurbs only come in a plain white box, no retail packaging, so if you're planning on giving this as a gift, keep that in mind.

So, the sight of the video in question, from a lobbying organisation with links to Jack Abramoff and that represents Exxon-Mobil amongst others, decrying government spending is nothing but empty but loud crap of the highest order. What they want is for government to spend money on them. Screw those who have lost their livelihoods, their jobs, their homes in the biggest recession in any of our lifetimes, let those suckers pay the bill. In fact, screw you, take a pay cut, be fearful of losing your job with all your benefits. We'll also press to weaken child labour laws so you're competing with kids...
Living standards have remained stagnant over the past decades, papered over by a housing bubble and cheap goods made in China while your healthcare costs have been going through the roof. But time and time again, you put the same oafs in who wrap themselves in the flag and carry a cross.
Jesus wept.
I think even this is probably too long to use as my sig. :(
But I would use the whole post if I could. ;)

One way you could do it is just make the slideshow in iphoto, it will be a lot easier. The only downside is you wont be able to edit the music.
