Hi everyone, so let me get this straight, when I use Parallel Desktop in my Imac, I have to decide how to split resources{Memory and Cores) between windows and OS X? so if at one point I want Windows 7 to use all 8 gigs of RAm I have in my Imac for a program like Sonar X1, would that make the OS X side slow down or crash completely? sorry about these questions but I'm new to this!
I have an IMac 2.93 GHz Intel Core i7 8 GB Memory 1333 DDR3 running Snow Leopard 10.6.7 and Windows 7 with Parallel Desktop.

I am trying to reinstall OS X on my old 2006 MacBook core 2 duo. I have a leopard install disk and a tiger install disk.
On boot up, i get the chime and then it spits the disk right out.
I have made USB images of both to try to install and when I Hold down the option Key, i get the mouse cursor to come up over the white screen but the usb drive does not load into the boot-able options.
any ideas on what i can do?
What i have to help are a
2011 Macbook Pro
2009 Mac Mini

As long as they take people away from that gawd awful uncompliant MSIE crap I don't care who else they take out. I'm so sick and tired of having to go out of my way to support that stupid browser, when every other one works perfectly.

This is apparently a revamp of his Macsimum Perspective site, which ran stories about all sorts of various stuff - macs, 3rd party hardware, software, movie reviews of things he saw, etc.
Sometimes interesting, if not much more.

It's kinda brilliant from a dev stand point.
Your app costs $0.99
You give away $1000 a month to one user who is pushing a button.
If Your app causes a million people to download this and give it a try, you make $700,000 from app sales, and only have to give away $1000 a month.
Heck, they could give away $20,000 a month and would still make a killing, and would make the app that much more popular.
I don't see much wrong with that.

OK, am I the only one....
Someone from Bioware said that they are pulling in a HUGE amount of data from your ME2 save if you import. Granted, much of this might be trivial stuff that has no REAL importance on the game. But either way, you will be able to import your person just fine, and I'm sure major plot decisions from ME2 will have consequences in ME3.

God peoples, the font size was 99% of the size it was supposed to be. But when you're right your right. The fonts do look much sharper now. I think I must have been staring at the theme too long to notice anymore. :p

There are programs that will back your texts up and allow them to be moved to another phone if your iPhone is Jailbroken. I don't think there is any other way.

TimeMachine is great, but I don't rely on it as my only backup either. I have one 1 TB drive partitioned into two partitions: one is slightly larger than my internal drive, and the other partition is the rest of the TB. I use CCC to clone my internal drive to the 1st partition nightly and TimeMachine backs up to the other partition. This way, if my internal HDD dies, I can boot right off the external and keep going. I use DropBox to back up all my super necessary files as well (I'm up to 5.8 GB without paying).
And, no, I don't consider my two partitions separate backups because they're on the same physical drive. But, still, it seems an effective solution to me. Even if a fire burns down my residence I still have all my important (small) files on DropBox.

I like it very much. I can imagine sets of polls that you can vote for fun, and then your results are summarized in your profile. Think of the way Arn always starts a thread after Apple media events evaluating which rumors were true and which were not. Instead of just doing that after the events, there could be a set of questions and everyone would have a chance to make their bets.
One thumbs up from me.

I'm having a strange moment of WTF?
I have a ps3, I have many games, one of which is Wipeout HD... All my games have a small preview and sound playing when i hover over them in the XMB, but for some reason wipeout is silent?
Now, I'm sure it used to play music? ... Did it, or am I loosing it? It seems it's the only game I own that has no preview music in the XMB preview?
I have the fusion pack, the latest firmware and all updates installed.
All other game previews work perfectly, all other sounds, games, movies, music etc is fine it's just this one game? Im sure it previously had music in the preview window?
Anyone? :)
I think the alcohol and food over Christmas may be getting to me ;)

Ok, thanks I missed that.
I like to make groups or categories, such as 'get' 'call' 'look for' and then create lists so when I'm out and about, I can pull up my list for get, or look for and see if any place near me is a good source for the items. When I create the group name in wunderlist, under list, then when I go to the next screen it calls it task. So I go to put the list there, but there is not a return in the text field, so you cannot really make a list. Is there an easier way to make a list? does each item have to be it's own task? That seems like a lot of extra steps to just make a list.
thanks
Reminders/alarms/notices are a piece of cake on the iPad and iPhone - on your Mac not so much.
On either the iPad or iPhone your enter your task. It will show up in your list. Tap it and a new screen will come up which allows you to set a due date and reminder (push and/or email). Haven't found out how to do it on my Mac though.

For actual written fiction, visit:

and click "words".
At the moment, almost all of the material is extracted from screenplays that I've put together: plans are in motion to get "regular" fiction up in the future.

If it came with the iPod and you tell them the real date of purchase they won't replace it. Yes it is unethical to lie about things like this, but saying it "came with my sister's iPod around the 22nd" usually works.

I think with something like this, it's not so much the content of the post as it is the scrolling required. Nobody likes to scroll. When you have to scroll that much more (times 75) because some guy just wants to say "I agree," it's kind of distracting. It definitly detracts from the experience.
