Trying to split my extermal 50/50 for OSX and Windows use. It works for OSX right now but can't figure out how to do the split. Help! It's a WD mybook.

If i had to pick there, it would be the T2i. The T3 is really basic and much lower quality that you will outgrow it quickly and I would say that the T3i doesn't add that much over the T2i for the price difference- just the standard faster, crisper, etc. Like I've said in other threads, I'm not a huge fan of vari-angle screens anymore, as they become a weak point on the cameras after a couple of years.
The 18-55 wouldn't be my first choice of lens for any model. They really feel quite cheap (read- plastic-y) and not very much reach. I would look for one of the kits with the 18-135 (or similar) or if you can find one - a 17-85 which is a really solid lens. Even if you have to pick up the T2i as a body and lens separately, it would be a good way to go.

Its a hard decision, deciding between a macbook air and a macbook pro. I'm not even going to buy one until summer, because I want to have a computer with OS X Lion. Plus, the MBA doesn't have a superdrive, so I can't watch movies or games. That won't even work with remote disk.

I'm predicting that AAPL will lose some points after they actually come out with the report and it takes away from some of their profits. After that happens, I'm planning on buying about six shares. I think Apple as a company has a lot of room to grow. What do you guys think?

I don't think so. As long as the store you go has that particular product in its inventory, they can swap it out within 14 days.
The 14 days won't apply here- this is a faulty product not an unwanted one. Apple have supplied you with something unfit for purpose, so you can exchange or refund, but the sooner the better. They should deal with you in store, they have with me.

actually they stayed loggedin for 7 days, and thats only if you're inactive for 7 days, applies to all people using it, most IM services, such as gtalk, msn, yahoo all do offline messaging, facebook does it as a message. with ebuddy i can see when people are typing, i can have group chats, do location sharing and i can file share with the apps too. so far the only thing i can't do is broadcast messages, which i've never heard of until you mentioned it, so therefore have no need. so really BBM only seems to do 1 thing that beejive and ebuddy don't do. the SMS thing is a bit silly, if someone ain't online and i want to message them i'll just SMS them, simple as, it's not like i cannot do that.
You're completely and blatantly (I'm assuming, other there's another word for it) missing the point. Knowing that you can ALWAYS communicate with a contact via a specific method is much better and more efficient than having to check if they're "online" every single time you want to message them.

Like many of you, I listen to a lot of Mac/Apple-centric podcasts. I keep hearing about this Merlin Mann character, and I've checking him out to see what all the broo-hah is about.
I have to be honest, I really don't get this guy, and I don't get the people that are so head over heels into him. I've browsed his website, 43Folders, listen to his podcast with Dan Benjamin ("Back to Work"), and I've heard him on other podcasts too like Mac Power Users.
I can hardly find out much about him, other than he is someone who has made a few websites, that are aligned along mostly motivational speech. His eccentricity seems manufactured in a way that a man named "Merlin Mann, [the] III" was designed to be eccentric. He talks about being productive and creativity, yet his "product" is essentially telling others to be productive, ironically in a long winded and tangential sprawl.
He's supposedly a productivity guru who is a paid speaker at many events, yet he has no credentials to back that up.
I've honestly tried to listen to him through the above listed podcasts, but I couldn't bear the pointless pseudo-philosophical eccentricity. The "Back to Work" show is rarely about work, and stands in stark contrast to shows like Marco Arment's "Build and Analyze" which is very engaging, thoughtful, and enlightening.
Granted, my profession is in Medicine, not in Tech/IT/Web Development, so maybe I'm just out of Merlin Mann's loop.

I'm just curious how you guys got into web design and what kept you interested -- and why you chose it as your line of work (or even as a hobby).
I'm only 17, so I don't know what I'm going to do career-wise, though I think I would like to keep web design freelance rather than a full-fledged career. In any case, I love the world of web design because of the balance: creativy and logic. I enjoy tackling a "challenge" of a code or script or just creating something complicated out of a blank page. On the other hand, I can let me creative juices flow and still have the power to click "Undo" (if only that would work for pen and paper...I am ridiculously bad a creative things done by hand...I find coloring within the lines a challenge :p). Moreover, the field of web design is always changing, innovative and individually rewarding.
I got into web design in middle school, just tinkering around on a Tripod template-based Mariah Carey site and finally buying a book to teach myself HTML. And you could say that I became addicted :p
Oh and another question: Do you guys ever get 'designer's block' and how do you cure it?

Let's talk about this for a moment. Logos need to have impact, both visually and symbolically. A wispy cloud doesn't seem to have either of these qualities.
