you may wanna brush up on your CSS a little edesignuk, you would be surprised what CSS can control
mind you, IE doesnt support some tags, but CSS can do everything from onfocus to simple IF statements (firefox supports on focus of textbox while IE doesnt, inwhich case you would check the browser version and implement javascript for onfocus where IE doesnt support it from CSS)
i have had a hard time controlling form elements in safari, but i havent spent much time with safari as my primary concern. we dev primarily for firefox, then for IE and check to make sure stuff works in safari. thats just the way we have prioritized the browsers
il stop here as to not turn this into a flame war, but theres quite a few books on CSS if your a bit behind times. you should also know theres different CSS versions.

Unfortunately it's an insurance job, RAC just happen to be the people Elephant use to replace windscreens. So I can't threaten to move to the AA, as I'm not even with RAC to begin with.
Dont know if this will work with UK ins co's, but when my mom's car was repaired, they forgot to mix enough pearl into the paint, and she didn't notice til a week later (when i told her). She went back, and they tried to convince her that it was the same color. I told her to call her Ins co and complain. The repair shop called back the next day, saying they would repaint the entire car, and had a rental ready.
Long story, a bit shorter... call your ins co next if you haven't already.

EDIT: No it actually looks like "The Future is calling"

I know I could just call Apple directly on this question, but thought I'd ask here too.
Let's suppose I do go ahead and place an order today at the Apple Store, for the current 15" TiBook, and I receive it a few days from now (or whatever the shipping time ends up being). Now further suppose that a week or so later, Apple announces an updated PowerBook and starts taking orders for those.
I've seen it suggested, in various threads over the past few months, that if such a product announcement happens within 30 days of the original purchase, Apple offers customers the opportunity to ship the "old" computer back and update to the newer model, but this sounds extremely unlikely to me. If I read Apple's Sales and Refunds (http://store.apple.com/Catalog/US/Images/salespolicies.html) policy, the only words that sound remotely close to this are those that discuss the ten business day window for returns due to "[dissatisfaction] with your Apple purchase of a pre-built product".
Can anyone comment on this?

Just to chime back in on this one - as with the previous poster, the first update to DP2 worked flawlessly for me too. I wonder how/if we'll know when Apple fix the download...?

I have a 24" iMac (Aluminum) on eBay but I am interested in picking up a third Mac Intel laptop. Is anyone interested in a trade + cash for the iMac? Specs are available on eBay, search for item #250262417485.
No other trades please, nothing else needed besides a laptop from Apple. No G4 or earlier laptops either. Catch me on AIM or via PM.

You can test the hard drive by removing it and placing it into an external enclosure. Or do you have a access to another MacBook to put the hard drive in?

It's thick and not really unique - not going to be a popular product.
It's not that thick at all, not unique? Have you seen other cases like this one?

I also believe the new iTunes will add the ability to rip your DVDs, kind of like a Handbrake/Telestream's Drive-In.
It would be nice, but it's illegal in the US. You can't remove copy protection from something that has it, no matter the purpose of the action. So, not gonna happen. Also, there'd be no reason to get companies, like Fox, to include iPod ready copies of their content on DVDs as seem to be happening now.
I think they'll keep iTunes, but the official name will be changed to iTunes Media Store rather than iTune Music Store, if it's not already.

Take www.barefeats.com recent FW800 test as an example...
Of what, I don't know. But at least he ran a test and played with the darn things.

If photographers behaved how some of you guys do, I would quit every single forum...
Q: "Hey guys, took a few shots, looking for some pointers on where to improve..."
A: "!#!#%#!!! Blah blah blah school 10 years undervalued degrading industry blah blah !#%@!!!!! eff off buddy!!!!"
But in crankypant's defense, it is helpful to include an image/example in the Original Post so we actually know that you are not simply "Trying to get free work done".
OP: I would go with citenzens idea of the birds, otherwise I have found that the only good way to "Create" clouds (besides excellent freehand draw/paint skills) is to clone existing clouds and use a combination of brushes and layers to blend them. into the shape you want.

We all know that George W Bush's entry into power was flawed but that is America, not the UK....
Democracy has always been about majority voting, the most votes wins, so if 40% is the most then its only fair to allow that party to govern.
The reality is that many will not think about their secondary or third placed votes properly and we could end up with a government that in reality was voted in by mistake....
Yes, the current system is flawed but look at the figures globally, only a handful of other countries use AV and some want to get shot of it.
So, you're saying AV is bad because people are too stupid to get their head around it.....
Ignoring of course the fact that if you like you can still just vote for one party and one party only, you're not mandated to put all options in order.

I looked at the error log file specifically for smtp and it says the following:
server postfix/master[38346]: warning: valid_hostname: misplaced delimiter: server.mydomain.com.
server postfix/master[38322]: fatal: file /etc/postfix/main.cf: parameter myhostname: bad parameter value: server.mydomain.com
I know that these are settings in the /etc/postfix/main.cf file but unsure where in the file the error is and how to fix it?

Why advertise what kind of electronics can be found in your residence?
Because there's no problem in doing so.

AFAIK form elements cannot be controlled via css in Firefox, or Safari for that matter.
