anyone know how frequently they get shipments and how many at a time? after the launch on fri night sold out, i called around and they said tuesday morning they'd have more, but those sold out pretty quickly. wish they had the availability widget on the website like they did with some previous iphone launches.

I would go with the ADVC-100 because of the locked audio feature. This is the model I use to do the same thing you want to do. I've never had any problems and it works fine with Final Cut Express. If you use Norton System Works,be sure to turn it before trying to "capture" video. There's some kind of conflict caused by Norton that will freeze your system.

I actually didn't mind the 3rd gen but IMO the 4th bests the 5th. No one I know embraced the video cam.
How does that make the 4th gen better? Even if you don't use the video camera, the 5th gen had a larger screen, fm radio, and other features. How can it be inferior when it has everything the 4th gen did plus more? At least people can make the argument that the 6th gen is better because it's smaller and has the clip, but the 4th gen really doesn't have any advantage over the 5th.

I found one of my magsafe chargers flashing green/orange while NOT plugged into the computer - just hanging in the breeze. It was plugged into a wall outlet that was successfully powering a lamp with CFL. What the deuce?
Have you tried unplugging and plugging back in the entire Magsafe adapter? If that doesn't fix it, try keeping it unplugged for 5 hours and then plug it back in and see if everything works then.

If possible SSH into the device, remove any traces of your dev, then try adding sources manually via SSH and then restarting cydia. if the problem persists, back up the device and re jailbreak it (if possible)
Cydia may have become corrupted whilst you have been trying to build this dev.
Mobile terminal may offer some help, try deleting all packages and sources currently installed (if any) and re loading cydia again

Been waiting in Chicago (not some small town, but Chicago for christ's sake) for way too long, we had the neighborhood wired for U-Verse for close to a year and still nothing. Seems for whatever corrupt reason AT&T doesn't want to compete and leave only Comcast (who I despise) as the only provider in my neighborhood. Hey Verizon, if want to make some more money just move into the Chicago area, then you can offer a package deal when you get the iPhone.:mad:

So I've just completed the installation of Windows 7 on a Core i7 2.0 15" MBP. Everything works quite fine save for a little booting hitch which was promptly solved via the recovery console.
But something troubles me.
Although everything works quite fine, where is the ATI Control Panel? My last MBP had a GeForce 8400M, and the Windows side had the nVidia Control Panel.
Does this new release not include an ATI Control Panel?

It's both good and bad news.
MacOSForge looks thrown together at the last minute and it is. For a long time the place for open source projects was opendarwin.org but the guys that run that were increasingly frustrated at Apple not participating with the open source community.
A month or so back, they announced they were pulling opendarwin.org. The major project on opendarwin.org that had to find a new home of course was Apple's own Webkit.
If Apple had got behind opendarwin.org earlier, the need for macosforge wouldn't be there.

Proper Keynesian response to a recession, particularly one headed quickly for a depression is deficit spending. Proven time and time again.
However, the neo-liberal whizz-kids who have been generally in charge of the consensus over the past 30 years always forget that the flip-side of the equation is to build a surplus when times are good, something that the Clinton (D) administration did by raising taxes on higher income earners and then handed it over to George W. Bush (R) who pissed it up the wall, giving tax cuts to billionaires and running up two wars without any of it being paid for in the long run, with the worst record of job creation of any president in history.
Cue massive recession and economic disaster after a housing bubble stoked by unregulated lenders, the dying days of the Bush and the incoming Obama administration had little choice to spend, because a recession is a problem of demand, not supply... as we can clearly see when corporations are now sitting on huge profits and the Dow is climbing steadily. But they're not creating jobs, because demand is slack, almost solely because of high unemployment.
Supply-side is a failure. It only looked good in the 80s because the Fed squeezed inflation out of the system by raising interest rates, then dropping them again... but interest rates across developed economies these days can hardly go lower. The limits of monetary policy, apart from measured quantitative easing, can go no further. Like Keynes said: like pushing on a piece of string.
The only way to raise demand is to pursue policies that further full employment. More jobs, more money in people's pockets, more revenue, more demand. However, Republicans in congress, after wasting many months of pursuing fruitless bills about abortion, defunding their pet hates etc. have a new, bright idea up their sleeves which I'm sure every forum member would like to see for themselves:

But “lowering labor costs” is economist-speak for lowering wages — does the GOP want to be in the position of advocating for lower wages for voters who work in the private sector?

But actual rich people can’t ever be the target. It’s a classic peasant mentality: going into fits of groveling and bowing whenever the master’s carriage rides by, then fuming against the Turks in Crimea or the Jews in the Pale or whoever after spending fifteen hard hours in the fields. How do you export video with a small file size and maintain high quality? For example, a lot of pirated movies are about 1 gig file size, look fantastic and they are about 2 hours long. Does anyone know of a guide or something that takes you through the steps to create this kind of high quality/low file size result? I don't want it for pirating purposes, pirated files are just the best example I know of good quality:file size ratio.

maybe this is a silly thing to do but my question is...I have a mac mini server with 2 500GB drives in a mirror set. If i break the mirror set and boot from one of them and install an update and an update breaks the system technically could i boot from the other drive and rebuild the raid?
Technically may be possible, but I don't recommend it. RAID is not a backup solution it is a redundancy/high-availability solution.
Things like ESD (Electro Static Discharge) could damage the disk you remove without you even realising it.
If you want a bootable backup, use SuperDuper or Carbon Copy Cloner to create a bootable clone.
Or if you simply want a backup use Time Machine.
