I'm thinking about selling my MacBook now. Do any of you think there will be a significant design change to the white one?
Well for overall design I don't know about many changes with that; the build quality is already great and unless they made it out of aluminium (which is highly unlikely) it should look around the same.
As for internals, I'm thinking an iCore processor and probably larger capacity harddrives. The Pro is still Apple's most powerful laptop and although they might tune up the specs, it won't bleed over into Pro territory.

as far as i know it is on the connector, it built around the connector. Third party chargers doesn't have it. I also happen to have both the original and the 3rd party charger.

For those interested, it looks like we have an updated date. I e-mailed iHome customer service with the following:
When the heck is the iW1 going to come out?
I got the response:
Thank you for your email about the iW1 & it won't be in until June/ July. Please log onto www.ihomeaudio.com on the home page under this model enter your email address & they'll let you know when it comes in.
Thank you, Wyvette Davis- iHome Rep.
Wow - June / July. They REALLY botched something up on this thing. Oh well... it's the one I want so I'll wait.

I was driving my girlfriends car (she was with me) and we were driving through an intersection at about 40mph (speed limit) and then all of a sudden wham goes a car into the side of ours.
This teenager driving some a big dodge pickup went through the stoplight at 30mph. The airbags went off in both of our cars. The car I was driving almost hit a car in the parallel lane.
The teenager broke his arm I think. Me and my girlfriend are thankfully fine. I somehow have a cut of my forehead from my girlfriends cellphone flying out of her hand in the accident. We both of course have some bruises.

I am curious though, how many people register, and why? It does not affect warranty at all.

I refuse to touch anything in the apple store. I never pick up any demo units, people are disgusting and don't wash there hands.
You must get sick a lot since your body has no germs to practice on. Washing your hands in a public restroom is almost completely negated the moment you touch the door handle to leave...but good luck with your sterile lifestyle.

The CS4 apps will run on your MacBook with OS X 10.5, yes. They even run on my old PowerPC iMac.

Sorry to bother y'all with another release date question.
With iMacs and MacPros also due for an upgrade, are Mac Minis even next to be released?
How do you think Apple prioritizes? (besides materials available, that's obvious)

Ah, i can't believe i overlooked this...this can be accomplished with tailDash (http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/17833)
tailDash is a widget that uses the unix command "tail" to display any log/txt file on your comp.
Just select your unitinfo.txt under advanced and set the refresh for whatever (i have it set to 1) and voila...take a look:

Try this thread. (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=31091) It's a discussion about setting up the security features in Linksys routers.
Basically, you're going to do two things: one, turn on WEP encryption, to keep your data secure; and two, disable SSID broadcasting, to prevent just any schlub with a wireless card from seeing your network.
These two things won't make your network hack-proof, but it's enough to keep out the casual network snoopers and enough to tell more advanced snoopers "This is a closed network, look elsewhere for an easier target."

Sorry you disagree, but it's a fact of life... the MP3 format does not support gapless playback inherently, so to speak. Here is a link to an aticle discuss the problem and the solutions to it. http://www.pretentiousname.com/mp3players/ and also a quote from the article, in case someone doesn't want to read it: The MP3 format has inherent flaws which, unless worked around, mean it cannot move seamlessly from one track to the next without adding silence or at least a click. The article then goes into some formats that do support gapless playback (AAC and OGG, for example), and some of the 'hacks' and tricks that players COULD use (but most, including the iPod) to fix the MP3 gapless playback issues.
Since the iPod can't play OGG files (hoping for this in the next revision, like all SLashdotters ;-) ), AAC is the best choice for gapless playback on the iPod.
Rob
EDIT: The author of that article mentions that he is unsure of wether AAC supports gapless playback. I THOUGHT that it did, but I could be wrong, so using AAC may or may not fix this ploblem. I'll try to look into it further what formats support gapless playback that are also supported by the iPod. He goes om further to say that the iPod doesn't support any gapless playback, so it may be that my search for an answer will be in vein.

I purchased one from ifixit.com brand new about 6 months ago and it died a couple weeks ago. I went back today and they have none in stock. I checked on eBay and they have after-market ones that look like they will do more harm then good. Is there anyone else that sells apple parts?
I bought 2 for travel purposes and never really used it if you are interested pm me thanks

I'm trying to issue A promo code to a user, but despite browsing my dev account for 15 minutes I can't find where to do so anymore? Did the remove promo codes or am I just blind?

I'm actually in quite good health. Thank you for asking. It's rare to see that type of personal courtesy on an internet forum.
Well that's certainly good to hear.

Not entirely sure on this, but I think you can set the cross fade feature in iTunes to eliminate the gap and then (and here's where I am not sure) those settings are synced to the iPod (maybe?).
in iTunes>prefs>audio there is a crossfade check box. unchecking it will jump directly from one song to the next, cross fade will blend one song into another. i think you want to jump from one song to the next, like the CD, otherwise you will be fading the end of one song with the begining of the next, and the only way that will sound good is if you are the DJ that created the CD and did the crossfading manually (which im sure they did during some part of production) but i really dont know if this effects the playback on the iPod

Hey guys, I was just reading about the likelihood of Apple dropping the Classic from its lineup this year due to declining sales.
But since its gonna be 10 years now since its introduction, who else would be really appreciative if Apple released a limited edition iPod Classic? I dunno what Ive could come up with, but a really nostalgic design, in white obviously ;), with a click wheel and maybe a 240gb hard drive to contrast how far technology has come in these 10 years. I would definitely be interested in this, and even though they might not be crazy profitable, if Apple produced a limited run of ~1 million, so that when they're gone they're gone, they could become nice little collectors items.
Anyone else agree?
