Don't waste your money on some random music recovery program.. I have used Senuti and never had an issue grabbing songs off my iOS devices:
http://www.fadingred.com/senuti/
It's free, fast, and did I mention that it is free?
EDIT: It was free when I started using it.. now there is a trail for 1000 songs.. shouldn't have an issue unless you have more than that. If you do, PM me...
Now if only i'd thought to use the forums when I had my issues!
Good to know that there are reliable free progs out there.

Why not take it in to get it serviced since it still has Apple Care? That way the buyer won't have to.

i'd say go for the iBook and max out the RAM. I have an iBook 600 from late and there is really nothing I cant do with it. It may be slow at certain tasks, but that is very specialized and the iBook is generally considered an allaround computer.
You'd be at an advantage over me anyways, because you get the extra 100MHz, the extra 256k cache, and QuartzExtreme capabilities.
The iBook, as always, is a solid buy.

Rather than try to password protect the drive, how about creating some encrypted DMG's or TrueCrypt containers on the drive.

Went into an apple store and asked a guy working there if he knew anything about G4 ibooks coming out. His response was a VERY official "No. We don't know anything about that. I can't tell you anything about that."
When I pressed a little further, he basically said, "I can tell you I don't know anything or I can lose my job. What would you do?"
Sounds like something's coming soon to me. This RAM sale definitely makes it look probable as well. I'm dying to buy an ibook, but have heard the G3s aren't so good with OS X. That, plus an upgrade seemingly soon - I'm waiting. Hurry up, Apple.

In a poll to find our [your] top ten national treasures (carried out by Yahoo!), the bare-breasted beauties came 6th. #1 was the Sunday roast and #2 was regional dialects, with brown sauce at 7 and beer bellies at 8.Remind me again why we Americans consider Brits "classier"? :D

Very nice idea for an app! I've been doing this by hand until now--one of the first non-photo uses I thought of for the color display.
FYI, it supports MapQuest and MapBlast too.
EDIT: Oops... it's text-only. Guess I'll keep loading the actual maps onto my iPod by hand.

All that will do is make me have to do an extra step and now the picture is located in two places. Both the original folder and the alias. I don't want to go to the current photo booth folder and drag and drop the image to the desktop or where I need it to be. I simply wanted the save directory to default to desktop. Based on your answers and suggestions I'm assuming it's not possible to change the default save directory? That makes zero sense.

Space is at a premium as I'm on a motorcycle - anyone know a single amplified cheap speaker I can use for presentations with a macbook air? I do not need stereo - audeio/videos are all voice speech content

Been about 10 years since I last spent a significant amount of time with Macs but I wanted to try OSX and it was time to get a new machine for my day-to-day computing chores (word processing, internet, finances, music, archiving, etc.). Didn't need to be powerful and I didn't want to spend a lot of money but I wanted something portable so I got an 800Mhz ibook. I couldn't justify spending another $300 on the 900Mhz model just to get the combo drive since I already have a firewire burner I can use at home. Besides, if I spent an extra $300 for that, I may as well spend another $300 and get a 12" powerbook. Then I'd be a long way from my cheap computer. ;)
It took just a few hours for my iBook to make a mockery of many Switch ads. I knew they were BS when they first aired but I was surprised to see so many contradicted in the first few hours.
My email didn't import properly. All of the folders are there but most of the big ones are empty or only have a single message. :P I also had a crash the first night. I came back to the computer and found a black display. At first I thought it'd just gone to sleep but the light wasn't flashing and the screen's backlight was still on. Then there were the drivers. I actually had to download drivers for my MP3 player and printer. The horror. ;)
But enough griping. I really do like my little iBook. It runs OS X great. The battery life is better than I expected (and I haven't even done any power-saving tweaking). I've got 60 gigs of space which is enough to carry everything I need and a lot of stuff I don't need. The airport card works with my old wireless gateway. I've been able to find software to do just about everything I did on the PC. The sleep mode is awesome. I still can't get over the recovery time. It's ready to go by the time I get the screen angle adjusted. After that initial crash, it's been rock solid. I've only rebooted after installing drivers and I think I've got them all loaded now. The next reboot will probably be for an OS update.
The screen is bright and the fan hardly ever comes on, even if the CPU is running at 100%. (I installed the folding@home client so I could see how often the fan would kick in.) Even with the CPU at 100% and the airport card turned on, battery life is still decent.
Okay, a couple more gripes. WTF is up with the one-button mouse? Yeah, I know. "Get a real mouse." I did. A nice cordless optical mouse. But that doesn't help me when I'm on the move. I don't want to lug extra stuff around. Why can't my track pad have two buttons?
And what's the deal with anti-aliasing? Why does everything need to be "smoothed"? Makes it look like I've got the display set at the wrong resolution. I put TinkerTool on there but it seems that some apps just ignore the setting and "smooth" the fonts anyway. Come on, Apple. Let ME decide how I want text presented on MY computer. Put a "none" option in there and make it stick.

Hey all.
I use the TextNow app which is great and allows me to not have a message plan. However there is no way to disable the lockscreen preview as per the standard apple SMS app. This poses a bit of a privacy issue particularly at work where I do not want my family texts to be seen by others.
Is there a hack to disable TextNow preview on lockscreen? Anybother thoughts by all here to help?
Thanks in advance.

Why should the Bioshock moniker be connected to Andrew Ryan or Rapture? It is more connected to the plasmids.

Hello,
new to motion, but noticed how much RAM it hogged, gobbled up all 8 gigs avail.
i have dimms 3,4,7 and 8 open with the rest of the slots filled with 2GB.
How much should I shoot for and whats the smart way to fill slots?
Thanks!

I haven't villified anyone here.
Clearly you have read more into my post than what I actually said.
Also, the moderators have done an excellent job "catering" to our "whims" in the past. That's what they do.
All I ask is to be able to have my songs that have zero recommendations deleted. Physically deleted, not logically deleted or simply hidden from my handle.
That seems like a very reasonable request to me.

Adobe Photoshop CS5 works just the same on 10.6.4 as it did on 10.6.3. I haven't experienced any problems at all.

I'm actually in quite good health. Thank you for asking. It's rare to see that type of personal courtesy on an internet forum.
Well that's certainly good to hear.

its so choppy, 2fps at most. im not expecting 30, but a little more than 2. am i doing something wrong? are there other AIM clients with better video support?
-rozwellRemember the download speed on your cable is not guaranteed. And more importantly remember that your upload speed is usally capped at a much lower value - somewhere between 256Kb and 512Kb. And upload speed is a cap, not a guarantee.
Also, other network activity you have going on could affect it as well.
