iOS 4 on the iPhone 3G absolutely kills it. Everything becomes incredibly slow. Apple should never have let the iPhone 3G get the 4.0 update..
Come on ... Apple got shunned for not allowing the iPhone 3G to get multitasking. If they hadn't updated it all, they would have been criticized to pieces.

I agree with Hellhammer. I think they should have 2 iPod Nanos. One with the small screen, a touch screen. And then the one with the larger screen with a scroll wheel. Why doesn't Apple ever sell the last generation iPod along with the new one? They do it with the iPhone. The 3Gs is still being sold, and it's pretty dated. The old Nano actually had MORE features than the new one.
That has to do with the carrier. If you notice, the first iPhone cost you Apple's msrp from Apple and AT&T, regardless of contract. When the 3G started being sold, the original was discontinued. AT&T began taking a cut of $200 per phone with new 2-year contracts for the 3G and when the 3GS was released, the 3G was offered at a discounted price.

Is anyone else experiencing annoying crashes and lock-ups in XCode 4? While debugging my multi-threaded apps (pthread, not GCD), I can navigate around in the paused state for about 45 seconds, after which I almost ALWAYS get a beach ball, XCode goes to 100% CPU utilization, and I have to force quit it. Occasionally, I'll get a SEGFAULT which the crash reporter tells me is an xcode GarbageCollection thread, and occasionally this lock-up will occur while I'm in the middle of typing inside a code window.
I tried re-running the XCode 4 installer, changing the debugger from GDB to LLDB and none of it seems to help. I never had these problems with XCode 3, and being that this is the first version of XCode I've actually had to pay for, I'm quite disappointed.

So I was in need of money to pay for groceries at my local grocery store. i had my paypal debit card so i decided to get some money out of that account. So I get the money and all and pay the groceries. Well yesterday i open up my paypal account and to my surprise the atm withdrawal was reversed.

now my concern is that will i keep the money or will paypal take it back... what happens from here? from money?

Nobody ever said that! :D
It's just incredibly rare. The average user should only see a Kernel Panic (crash) once a year on average.
jtown, as for that 'crash'. That sounds serious. A kernel panic or KP for short, presents itself by greying the screen with a box in the middle telling you to restart in several languages. The black screen thing you describe sounds like some kind of hardware failure. What can you tell me about the circumstances? What was the temp/humidity of the room? How hot did it get in there?

The features I'd upgrade for:
- 4.3 inch screen
- 4 inch screen
- 1800mAh battery
- Dual core
Not really interested in these:
- 8 mp camera w/ 1020p recording
- 64 gb version
- Improved antenna
- LED notification indicator
- NFC wallet replacement capability
- SD card slot
- Gesture / Swipe area
The iPhone 4 has this already:
- 1ghz processor
- 4.3 inch screen

would you accept $400 worth of iTunes Gift Certificates (4 GCs worth 100 ea)? If you don't use it, you can resell on eBay, I would, but I can't sell on there :/ You could get probably 80 per 100.

I'd get a gaming PC. I made my gaming PC for $350 about 2 years after I got my MPB, and it was better at gaming than my MBP... I've since spent about $400 more on it, and it's still great for gaming going on 3-4 years now.

I tend to agree with the previous post, it's primarily a Mac forum so it would be very tough to find anyone who could help with regards to Publisher OR recommend it as a pseudo-"professional" application.
Generally speaking, I've had a few clients send me stuff from Publisher... The "colour" issues in the app are painful at best, if you're after a specific HEX then you'll probably run into a few issues...
If it were me I'd recommend the following, it will give you a far better result that going down the Publisher route (it truly is a heinous application for the masses).
If skill level is the issue I would recommend using Pages, it does have some very nice templates while the finished results can be rather good for the newbie users.
Otherwise I would use Inkscape (http://inkscape.org/), it would be the closest thing to Illustrator without the attached costs, with that said there's a steep learning curve.

contentsOfDirectoryAtPath:error: returns an NSArray, I misread the Apple Documentation and thought it returned something else. What method do you suggest?

iPad 52 will be much better.
Even though that's a random number, there is something about how it sounds that made me laugh and spill beer on my lap.

I'm not infront of my Mac, so I don't know for sure, but I was thinking that the NetInfo Manager in the Utilities may help this. Open it up and go to users then your user name. At the bottom, there may be a property named home or home directory. If so, you should just be able to copy your home to where ever you want it and then change this property to the new location.

I haven't villified anyone here.
Clearly you have read more into my post than what I actually said.
Also, the moderators have done an excellent job "catering" to our "whims" in the past. That's what they do.
All I ask is to be able to have my songs that have zero recommendations deleted. Physically deleted, not logically deleted or simply hidden from my handle.
That seems like a very reasonable request to me.

The billboards are good use of Church donations. What will be his excuse when it doesn't happen? Oh, wait . . .
"If I find myself here May 22, then I'll be unsaved, because all the believers will be taken," he said. Asked if that scared him, the father of seven answers, "It is scary. I don't know if my children are saved."
The good news is if you die on May 21st, you might get to go to heaven.

I downloaded this last night. I don't use it much, but noticed that the menus are now in the right place, and it doesn't quit when you close the last document. The interface is still ugly though, but I'm sure it'll be fixed soon.

Does anyone happen to know the name of a commonly used program that allows you to change the desktop theme in OS 9? Thanks! (It's driving me nuts...)

Ok...so I think this is my final setup. I feel like maybe there is too much redundancy (like, can't I get rid of Disk 2 all together since Disk 6 and 7 already are clones?). But maybe there is no such thing as too much? These drives have the last 5+ years of work on them...if the disks went bad, or were stolen/fire/etc...we would be royally screwed.
Disk 6 and Disk 7 would be rotated off-site.
