Well, given how tiny the Nano is you shouldn't have any problem hiding it from him... ;)
Very funny! Alternatively, buy it for him and then use it yourself?

When they do update (i'm assuming there is no date for this set?) No date set, but hopefully soon enough.
what happens to the current models? The current ones will be slightly cheaper, even more so on Refurb.
Do they go on sale or clearance of some sort? Yup
Do the prices go up for the new models, or do they stay about the same as the ones listed now? Typically they will stay the same price, just rev up the specs. Hopefully we are talking SandyBridge and ThunderBolt

I had an Otterbox defender and loved it too. Unfortunately, after about a week it started creaking and moving around under the silicon (i.e. the two halves of the case would move in relation to each other).
Otterbox were fantastic and replaced it for me FOC (they just shipped one from the USA to the UK completely FOC and didn't ask for the old one back)
However, after a couple of months, the replacement started doing exactly the same and I ended up having to tape it together under the silicon to hold it together.
Basically, I think what happened is that the clips stopped holding the case together tightly over time (I'd taken it out a few times), and for that reason I'd definitely recommend keeping it in the case 24/7 otherwise you could end up with the same problem I had

I think you'd be surprised how much knowledge the human brain can store. The problem is specific data access. Recalling "memories" is something that has been a basic task of computers for decades.
I know that the brain can store an enormous amount of information, but wasn't Watson programmed with the equivalent of over 1 million books? I've read a lot my entire life, but nowhere close to that. Getting back to Jeopardy, I think there were several questions when Ken knew the answer immediately but Watson beat him on the buzz in. You could see how frustrated he was getting as the computer hit the button precisely time after time. The humans had no chance on the reflex end of it. In that way it really wasn't fair as the machine could do it over and over again.
I really enjoyed watching and I did some reading about the Watson project on my own too. What impresses me the most is the humans that created this lighting fast machine. I hope it gets put to good use helping people.

lol.. I think the people writing these articles need to study some economics, or at least under concepts of market share.
As the iPad was the first major product of its type, and released long before other personal computer makers could release such a model, what does one expect? lol..:D The fact that Samsung has released a tablet, and now RIM is releasing one soon, will further eat into market share for Apple.
Whether by this time next year, Apple will have the highest market share remains to be seen. If they do, then perhaps marginally.

Given that an iPad isn't pocketable, I'd say it's not too practical for using as a sole media player. I'd recommend the 16GB and keep the touch.

No you do not have to restore,
to get rid of cyida download "Cydelete"
then delete all the things you have downloaded through cyida NOT CYDELETE
go to settings find Cydelete open it, it will say something like this, "Do you want cyida protected?" change the slider thing to No
then go to the home screen and do the same thing as you would to delete a app but to cyida
hope this helps...

I'm having trouble deciding between a higher end 15-inch MBP or an 11" MBA with a gaming PC.
If I were to go with the combo, would an iBUYPOWER Gamer Power 567D3 in the 500 dollar price range be a good desktop for present and future gaming, or would the CyberpowerPC Gamer Ultra 2057's specs provide future proofing as well as justify the ~$900 price? (mainly the HD 5570 vs the 5770 and 4GB vs 8GB RAM)
If there are any other gaming PC's you have used, feel free to tell me what the best ones are!
my advice, check the thread showing gaming benchmarks for the highend mbp... decide if that's going to be good enough for you, if not or if it will probably not be sufficient in a year or so, i'd probably spring for a dedicated rig. Chances are if you want to play the latest and greatest and are a heavy gamer a dedicated rig will be better.
Honestly pretty much any modern processor will handle todays games, the gpu is what you need to invest your money in. 4 gb of ram is probably sufficient, 8gb can be found for really cheap especially if you have a desktop you can just put 4 - 2gb sticks into. I'd get any decent spec'd dual core i5 processor with 4gb of ram then spend the rest of your money on the best gpu you can afford/need

Not to hi-jack the thread, but I do have a similar question...
My wife got me a refurbed MBP for a little over $850... I can get a new MBP for 1150. Is the new MBP worth the $300 (and the upset wife)? Or do I enjoy the current present?
