Does anyone know if I'll need to send it off or is it something they can fix in store on the day? My main concern is that I'm revising for my exams at the moment so need my MacBook until the end of May
You could ask them? explain in detail where the cracks are and how big they are as well; if you live close enough to an Apple store I would suggest going to the store and showing them and finding out how long it would take.
However if you're in the middle of school work I would just wait until you're done if it's going to take longer than a few days.

I actually wound up using a DVD drive and installing 10.2.5 it worked fine. I think maybe my 10.1 disc is flaky

I saw the widget for your total progress in the other thread, and while i've got that going, i thought it would be cool if there was a widget that displays the information that lives in unitinfo.txt, with a nice progress bar or something.

How do they verify that you are a u-verse customer? If you just need login credentials, anyone want to share their U-verse logon credentials? :p

Well the app is very improved over the old one. Stinks that the downloads are limited to u300. That is one of the higher packages I wish they let the u200 group use it.

I've wanted to try wordpress, but it seems like all the blogs on there tend to end up looking the same.
WordPress has a huge diversity in themes so similarity is basically down to user choice of theme I would say.
The best themes to look for in WordPress or any other CMS for that matter are the ones that allow control other than the basic options.
i.e. pagelines platform on Wordpress allows you to custom select columns even in the free template. Many other templates allow you to hide post date, title, category etc. Therefore you can tailor it to look as you wish, just takes more effort, hence the number of similar looking blogs.
@djsound - Have a look at Joomla and see if it fits your business need. It's very different, yet very the same as wordpress. By that I mean the stock setup is more website oriented, rather than blog. Yet it still has many plugins available and an admin area that any Wordpress user would feel comfortable in.

urgh, I hate this time of year "April fools, April fools!!'" Yes, Nintendo, Sega and the Olympic committee are trying to fool you on March 28th. Cant wait till April 2nd so we won't have to put up with crys of April fools on every announcement.

I have macbook pro 13" 2011 edition. I'm trying to share a segate external HDD with win 7 computer. When I first started, I could only read the segate but not write. I tried NTFS-3g + macfuse and it didn't work since I read that snow leopard is 64 bit. So I installed tuxera ntfs and i can now read the external HDD. However, i still can't use my mac to write to my SD card that I use for my digital camera. It says "you can only read". Any ideas? Does 10.7 have native support for ntfs?

Does anyone know of the differences between the Canon XTi and the T1i? I had a XTi prior and had purchased a remote shutter release for the 40D and 50D (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002N65P7W/ref=pd_lpo_k2_dp_sr_3?pf_rd_p=486539851&pf_rd_s=lpo-top-stripe-1&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=B003VW27H8&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=072A1AET52BYAVQVGAC4) but was able to purchase a 2.5mm male-to-male cable with success to my Canon XTi. I sold the XTi a few months back and bought the T1i even farther back but I never used the remote on the T1i. Now, I need to but can't get the camera to recognize the remote. The remote and cable are both the same, so I'm assuming the way the T1i reads the signal input has changed.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can get this to work? I'd rather not spend the money for a new shutter release but if it comes down to the point I must, well, then I must.

MBA's also don't have a super drive, backlit keyboard, or ethernet port. I'd go with the MBP. The 13" MBP is still extremely light. For your uses as well, I would not recommend a C2D processor when Sandy Bridge is in the market. If you really still want a MBA, wait until they are refreshed with SB processors.

Go to "System Preferences > Network" and see if there is an "Ethernet" option on the left side panel. If not, try to hit the "Plus" button on the lower left hand side to create a new Location.

I understand that Lion has changed the way Migration works. Does anyone happen to know if Lion will support the selective migration of apps from an existing system to a new one? For example, I'd like make a fresh start and migrate only Mail data and iPhoto data and select other programs+data.Just start fresh and copy the appropriate Application Support folders over from the old system?

Can MacRumors stop being butthurt and put up the "iPad" in the Buyer's Guide already? Many people from school, church, family have and still ask me about the new iPad 2. It would be really helpful to link them to the Buyer's Guide instead of the whole iPad forum were further search is necessary.

So I did a refresh install on my mini last night and in reinstalling iTunes, I lost the overall library view I used to have. Under the library menu I have music, movies, tv shows, etc and I know how to turn each of those on and off. But I used to have an overall combined library view. Any idea how I get that back?
