Yes, eventually I will be getting ApplCare. RAM is the next thing right after the eMac. Yep, I'm 13 -- I mow lawns... have been all summer long. Probably made oh, maybe $2,000+... not sure the exact number, but it's very, very close to 2K if not more.
That is how I afforded my iBook, PC(last year - why did I waste my money!!!! :eek:, to-be eMac, iPod Photo 30GB.....

I don't know if I can upgrade it without losing my jailbreak that I did with greenp0ison like a few months ago when greenp0ison and limer1n had that fight and released stuff on the same two days.

MBA's also don't have a super drive, backlit keyboard, or ethernet port. I'd go with the MBP. The 13" MBP is still extremely light. For your uses as well, I would not recommend a C2D processor when Sandy Bridge is in the market. If you really still want a MBA, wait until they are refreshed with SB processors.

I thought that some of the first ones were more powerful than desktops in the day and you could configure them with a graphics card to use them as desktops.

When you format a disk with any disk utility, there should be an option to zero the data. It takes much longer, but that's what you want.

once VLC is downloaded, open it up. Then, go back to handbrake. it should be able to use VLC's encoding after this.

in windows (everything since 95) right click the desktop / properties / its in one of the display panels
and it wont say the address bar specifically. ul have to change the font size of a generic text box to change the address bar probably
in OS X.... the closest thing would be system preferences / apparence BUT in this respect we dont have as much control as in windows.
maybe shapeshifter can pull it off, but i like the settings os x comes with. probably could copy the aqua theme and change few specifics.
other than that, i dont think its possible. a rule about OS X is to follow the aqua layout as close as possible to have a consistent user experience.

Remember the big blackout a couple years ago, when much of the Northeastern US was without power?
I was at work (I work at the Cleveland Clinic, a very large hospital) when the power went out. Several of our emergency generators were in a state of disassembly for maintenence, so parts of the hospital had no emergency power for some time, including some of the ICUs and ORs. And yes, there were a number of surgeries that had to be completed by flashlight. :eek: :eek:
It was pretty scary, but they were able to reroute power from less critical areas with good generators and all major equipment survived on battery backup till they got everything sorted. Still, the entire hospital was full of equpiment alarms going off, it was insane.
I work in the research building, and our generator functioned but its power was rerouted to critical areas, so the research department lost tens of thousands of dollars in mutant cell lines. Fortunately most cells were stored in the -80C freezers which can maintain safe temperatures for 24hours or more, and were saved.

I have a black macbook 13" 2ghz 2gig of ram. I think I purchased it back in 06...maybe. Can I run Maya 2009 on this with an upgrade of ram...to I think 3 gig and a new vid card?

Hey, hope someone can help.
My macbook took a fall the other day and I got the White screen of death, I plugged it into my external monitor and it worked fine. Tried resetting the PRAM and now the external monitor won't pick it up.
Took it to a mac store and they quoted me the price of a new macbook (mines 4 years old) to fix it, saying the hard drive and screen need replacing.
Is there anyway I can test this? or at least try and get the external monitor working again? Can't afford the repairs or a new macbook :(

However this malware is targeting Windows based iPad users...that's maybe what 500K right now more or less? And to be clear, it only affects the Windows platform, not the iPad itself (which is OS X based).

No. The X1900 is 25% stronger. The Quadro's only good point is the extra ram. Its not worth the extra money.
I'd say a flashed 7800GTX with 512MB is the fastest...
