Make sure thier insurance company doesn't shaft you on compensation for your days off for medical attention, etc. Document visits to the dr., physiotherapist, etc. When I had a numbnuts turn left right in front of me, I slammed the brake so hard I pulled all the muscles in my leg and limped for 2 weeks. The insurance co. was ready to settle just for the car damages, but caved when I gave them the evidence and gave me three days pay for my time off and the medical costs.

I thought that this was interesting. I doubt anyone here would be able to afford it, but some of you may find it interesting to see. an Apple 1 is going up for auction with it's original packaging. (http://www.christies.com/lotfinder/lot_details.aspx?intObjectID=5370965) and it's apparently expected to go for about $200,000

Since they sold out yesterday, I came back this morning. Standing in a line of about 25 people waiting on the chance that a truck MIGHT come today and that it MIGHT have Ipad2's on it. Guess that makes me and isheep or ilemming
Eh, good thing I didn't drive the 1 hr drive (each way) to deal with this. I might wait a month and order from AAFES for $10 off and no tax.
I kinda wanted it this weekend though. :(

Thought I'd share my little story, although it's not much of a story. My older brother has had a mac for about 5 years, starting with his freshman year in college and one of the original imacs. He now has a new imac and a 12" powerbook. I've always had windows machines, and i'll probably continue to have one as my main desktop computer, but I am realllly excited about my updated 15.2" powerbook comin.
I wanted to get a laptop to work in the library with, and on flights home from school and back, and after messing around with his 12" I was sold. This site kept me from buying prematurely, and now i'll be getting my 15.2" with backlit, 80gb 4200rpm, 1.25ghz etc. I love my current desktop setup, as I have a falcon northwest machv and dual 20" dell flat screens, so unless i end up marrying osx i probably won't switch my desktop, but panther looks awesome. Expose alone could do it. Oh, and i'm pretty pumped about being able to play warcraft 3 on it as well.
I've had the ipod for windows 5gb since it came out too, and I love it. No need to get the new one, as I like the actual push buttons better than the touchpad (can't control the touchpad through the fabric of my pants like i can the old ipod). It'll probably be so much easier using my ipod with itunes too, won't have to worry about the retarded windows support for it anymore. Oh, and musicmatch is the devil. When I saw that was the software for it, i didn't even install it, just searched for some 3rd party. Ended up using ephpod, which is pretty good, but not great.
Can anyone recommend a good scroll wheel mouse for the powerbook? I could probably live without 2 buttons, but I don't think I can tolerate no scroll wheel.
Also, since i'm just sticking with the initial 512 in the PB at first and opting for 3rd party ram, where do you guys and gals recommend buying from? I've always bought from crucial for my pc, as they have high quality ram for pretty good prices. I'll probably sell one of the 256mb sticks and buy a gig stick.
Thanks to all the posters here, there's been so much info posted that has helped me make my foray into macland.

Yeah, it seems to happen periodically with the 'mote and nunchuck that came with the Wii, but not the ones I bought after.
They've figured it out now so they know what to do in case it happens. Pause the game and unplug the nunchuck. Is that mature :p?
B
It's more mature than throwing the nunchuk through the TV while swearing like Andrew Dice Clay. :D

If you are doing work for this company, then surely you have a contract? When I'm doing work for a client, I don't worry about them stealing my work - that usually happens after I have completed a job and they start using the work for other purposes.
If you have a carefully worded contract, it should spell out your terms. But if someone is hiring you to produce art, then they own the rights to the work unless you've made arrangements otherwise.
I believe that if you start locking down your work, it says to a client that you don't trust them. I also believe that long-term relationships are more important than worrying about a particular work. I guess I'm more interested in making money than coveting my work. If a client steals my work, I send them a bill, and then I simply don't work for them anymore.
If you are worried about sending work on spec and having it taken without compensation, well... then you are screwed before you start. That is why I don't do spec work.
In your case, I would just send a flattened file and add a disclaimer that it's a proof/mockup and not for final usage. Trust them and they might trust you. It's called building a client relationship.

When you both view your connections locally (video setup) do they both appear normally? I have a feeling it may have something to do with the USB cam...

thats fairly normal, its a apple laptop so the price is low no matter how high the price is , to get a apple laptop people are willing to pay any price , in comparison with their desktop counterparts which are not even worth the postage to some ,
its the same here in the uk , while the G4 PowerMac's, G4 mini's,G4 iMac's dropped recently dramatically the iBooks and Powerbooks are priced much higher , there are people who try to get for a white iBook G3 near 200 ,that are $320 and you need to pay that if you want a fully working one with a battery that still holds some charge

I don't think it's the PRAM battery as the type of configurations he mentions usually are stored on their own plist file. Try repairing permissions.

Even on Mac osx?
Yes. Refer to the post below.
First you need to download and install the CUDA Drivers from nVidia http://www.nvidia.com/object/cuda_get.html
You should already be running the latest version of BOINC.
Once you have done these things, you, in theory are ready to start using your GPU in OSX BOINC to crunch stuff.....
Why isn't it crunching?
Because no apps inside of BOINC (Seti@home, Aqua@home, etc etc etc) have been re-written to take advantage of CUDA on the mac.
It seems Einstein@home is getting close, but for the moment (As of Feb 6th, 2010) nothing in the OSX BOINC world supports CUDA, or OpenCL. Not to be a downer, but don't expect that to change anytime soon. There just aren't enough volunteers with programming knowledge (or programmers that own the proper hardware to test their knowlege) in this area to make it happen quickly.
Please refer to this post. Only a few number of projects can use CUDA on a mac, Collatz Conjecture is one of them that is available right now

Ok, I don't want to spend too much time on this but let me help you out as much as I can. If you are looking to do web site design with CSS you should really get a book.
I don't remember saying I wanted to learn CSS, I am just querying how much Firefox (and Safari) form fields can be changed by CSS as I can't recall ever seeing a button face, for example, looking anything other than standard.

Hi guys, I wrote a program that loads a couple web pages, but I need them to display in the iphone style. if you go to news.google.com on your mac, as compared with you iPhone it displays a different page. I really need this page to be displayed in the iPhone version in my program. How is this possible using the WebKit ?
