I always use Safari- for my Macs and iPhones. Not sure why all the hate on Safari. I love Safari- don't use anything else. Safari works great on a Mac.

iFile is iPad compatible. However, it won't do what you're looking for. In order to have that, you'll need a JB browser app that integrates the kind of FS access that iFile gives you.
P.S. iFile doesn't create a FS, it simply gives you access to the FS that exists behind the scenes in iOS.

I was always under the impression that A/C wasted more gas than leaving the windows open. I mean it takes a bunch of energy to convert refrigerant from a gas to a liquid state, and then to pump that refrigerant through your car to make the A/C work.
I also thought that if the windows were down, the air in the car would flow out through the windows because it wasn't moving, while the air outside the car was, resulting in lower air pressure outside the car than in.
Maybe someone can explain ... ?
Modern AC systems in vehicles have become much more efficient. Opening windows, especially at higher speeds, creates a considerable amount of wind drag. Combine that with the ambient temperatures and it becomes more efficient to use AC, as the outside air may not be much cooler than the inside air. If there is humidity involved, using AC is definitely going to provide a much more comfortable climate.
In my case, the color of the vehicle seems to play a role as well. A red truck with a larger engine takes a lot longer to cool than a silver car with a smaller engine. Similar interior space as the truck is a four door.
The Infiniti has a kick ass AC unit though, which may explain why it only gets good gas mileage and not great gas mileage. Though it is tuned to outperform the best performing economy vehicles like the Civic or Corolla. I had previously owned a Civic though, and the G20T/Primera is head and shoulders above a standard economy car.

1. Use Carbon Copy Cloner (http://www.bombich.com/) to clone your current internal drive to an external
2. Install the SSD
3. Boot from the external HD by holding alt while booting
4. Use CCC again to clone the external HD to the SSD
5. Boot from the SSD by holding alt
That's it in the nutshell.

I went to the Apple Store today and asked about the minis a bit ... they didn't have the new ones out on display, but they had one guy walking around wearing the blue, pink and green. The colors are dramatically different -- much more bold.
Both the new 4gig and the new 6gig look identical, same size, same everything. Both lines feature the bold colors and the improved battery life.
I have to say I was really shocked at the colors -- they were practically glowing neon. Really, phenomenally bright. This picture from iPodLounge illustrates the difference very well ... it is truly THIS bold.

What are the chances Of that happening since they just basically refreshed it? Look how long it took them last time...

I am assuming that you are ripping the tracks as MP3 format files. The pause between tracks is a result of MP3's file structure, and it is impossible to have gapless playback with MP3's. It's not just iTune/iPods, no MP3 device or player will do gapless MP3 playback (if they do, it's a crossfading type trick). You should try re-ripping the CD in AAC or another format that supports gapless playback.

I mistakenly put chocolate in my pockets, then an hour after I put my phone in my pocket. When I took my iPhone out it was covered with chocolate. I then proceeded to whip it all off and the phone worked perfectly (still does). Only problem is, is that at the top of the screen where the chocolate covered has these dark spots that is not going away. Can anyone tell me what is this and how can I fix it?

7 in front of me, approx. 25 in back of me. They're out if 16G black, have 8&16 white in stock. I'd guess they will run out of all of them this AM.

I was wondering about viewing angles, because at night I sometimes flip the screen around to face the bed, and watch a movie. Because the desk is about a foot higher than the bed, and it doesnt tilt down much, the colours look a bit 'off'.
And when it gets to a dark scene, I really notice the backlight.
the LEDs used most often are white ones. nice, provide brighter pics. but a really good combo is ips and rgb LED. i don't think something like that exists. and any ips screen will do for what you are looking for. doesn't have to be apple. dells are good. i believe asus has put out a 500 led IPS if LED is a completely necessity for you.

What information are you looking for?
just the basic lookup info; OS information, internet ip address, etc.

Hey all, new to the forums, but no stranger to macs (Long time Logic Pro user at college/uni)
I recently ordered an iMac 20" (isight), and got the shipment notification the other day, and on the 14th Dec, it was in Cork...
Anyone in the UK have a mac that got sent via Cork? How long did it take? Also, anyone know how I can track stuff with Flextronics/Express Cargo? The apple tracking isn't showing any locations etc for the packages sent with them... :(
Any responses much appreciated
Ben

Is there something similar to memtest86 that will thoroughly test the RAM inside the Mac ??
Since memtest86 is a bootdisk with some operating system compiled for Intel i386 processors, I am using memtest86 to test my (Intel) Macs RAM. Doesn't it work like this on yours?

I just talked with my girlfriend. She goes to SIUE and confirmed that their bookstore is going to be selling Leopard for the discounted $69 or $79 price (not sure which one, exactly) - BUT they don't expect to have it for a few days after the 26th.
I must have missed something...how is it $69 or $79?

Aye on a new Mac. A PS3 in a year. Like any console, it should have quite a bit more going for it.
