Contacts, calendar and safari take much longer to load on my touch. The wikipedia search is cool but it takes about 5 seconds for anything I type to come up on the screen
So definite slowdowns and almost no new goodies here.

This could just be situation of meeting mandetory continuing education at the lowest price. If you are a doctor, you are required to take a certain number of hours of continuing medical education. Same goes for attorneys and many other professions.
I'm not a teacher, but based on my experiences with continuing education, sometimes you take really weird classes to meet the mandated minimum requirements. I would not be surprised if the state paid for this program (especially if it was inexpensive) so its teachers could meet their requirements. That isn't necessarily a determination that the seminar is the state's policy on any particular issue.
I don't really know, just a hypothesis.
That is what I figure it is. Sounds like the district was getting a pretty good deal at that cost per head. Those things normally cost a lot more.
It is required for teachers to have continuing education and most districts allow the teacher to submit the cost to the district for reimbursement. Teachers are giving a pretty board range of stuff they can do it on. As long as the reimbursement cost are reasonable they generally will cover it. They will not pay travel expensive for it.
My mom has to have so many hour ever few years and she does most of them during the summer and does them locally. District pays for them.
On top of that districts will often times have things brought in and then they will get subs for the teachers for that day. Depends what it is.
I think this is an example of making a mountain out of a mole hill.

He didn't mention the AOL way, but I think it had to do sth with his decision. Actually the whole Engadget team that made the podcasts and the Engadget show is gone. Nilay Patel, Ron Miller, Paul Miller and now Joshua Topolsky.
He said that he will still host the engadget show.

When did he say he got Lion from torrents?
When he posted on this forum for help rather than the official ones provided by Apple for those who got the seed officially.

That eMac will be great, the faster hard drive will help it eat your iBook for breakfast speed wise.
A faster Hard Drive really does that much? Interesting. Thanks

I think the hues on the old minis varied a little, too. My niece has a pink iPod mini that is noticably more violet than some of the pink ones I've seen on display.

Would this mean that Dell buys Apple if Jobs get in a precarious position?

If you bought it in the last two weeks and it's still in the box...yes.
Once it's out of the box it's not in perfect condition anymore.

I'm trying to use the bloomberg anywhere app on ipad, as I'm a bloomberg professional user. When opening the app, i receive a security alert stating that the app detected that the ipad was jailbroken, and refuses to run. Is there any way to prevent apps from detecting the jailbreak? thanks

I have to agree with the OP. Most of the front end features such as Launchpad and three+ finger multigestures are from iOS.
Then don't use LP and revert your trackpad settings to how they were.
Sure there are some tweaks under the hood, but for desktop/professional users of OS X, I need power refinement not cute little icons that wiggle.
There are refinements in Lion, ones which were long over due. Also the wiggly icons are just part of LP, I don't see why you're complaining about a feature which is not imposed on you in any way.
Leave that **** to the iOS kiddies and focus on OS X.
I'm at a loss as what this sentence means.
The only thing Apple is doing is dumbing down OS X to make it easier for the iDevice groupies to move into laptop systems or an iMac.
What exactly was "dumbed down"? I haven't found anything I couldn't do in Lion, that I could in 10.6.
Apple doesn't give two ****'s about us professionals who kept them from folding during their chapter 11 days in the 90's before Jobs came back. It's all about consumer market share, making their products in Taiwan now and $50+ billion in cash reserves.
And that's related to their latest OS, how?
Bah, it's just a bandwagon to jump on. Nothing is removed. Nothing is "dumbed down". It's just something to complain about.

How about a user still being able to log in while on timeout but is unable to post. I say this as then you can still have communication from the offending user to the mods via pm (maybe restrict pm to just to mods during this time) vs using the contact us form which requires one to fill out a form to address an issue
