Thanks, while that was some good background info, I guess I need to ask more questions.

What is a good yet inexpensive turnkey ISP? I mean turnkey like they have tons of templates I can manipulate, they can reg my domain names, and offer enough bandwidth to take care of a start up nothing site, I will not sell anything from this site, it will be more info about me and what I do.

I want to "Brand" myself so to speak.

I will offer links and post testimonials or recommendations from others.

I want to keep this inexpensive, but not afraid to spend where it needs spending.

Should I use a .biz domain?

how many different apple ID's can you authorize on a single copy of iTunes? My husband and I each have our own apple IDs but the old "what's yours is mine and what's mine is yours" thing applies, and if he buys a CD or an app I want to use, then dammit, I want a copy! LOL

So how can I get his stuff on my computer and mine on his?

Oscar-winning actress and Hollywood icon Elizabeth Taylor dies of congestive heart failure at 79

Screen legend Elizabeth Taylor died Wednesday at the age of 79.
Her rep told FOX News she died in the early morning at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles surrounded by her children.
Taylor had been hospitalized for over a month at Cedars-Sinai, where she was being treated for symptoms of congestive heart failure.
"My mother was an extraordinary woman who lived life to the fullest, with great passion, humor, and love," her son Michael Wilding said in a statement. "Though her loss is devastating to those of us who held her so close and so dear, we will always be inspired by her enduring contribution to our world. Her legacy will never fade, her spirit will always be with us, and her love will live forever in our hearts."
Born in London on Feb. 27, 1932 to American parents -- her father was an art dealer, her mother had once been an actress -- Taylor moved to California with her family when she was seven and was quickly spotted by a talent scout.

She made her film debut aged 10 in "There's One Born Every Minute" and then hit the big time at 12 playing horse-crazy Velvet Brown in "National Velvet" (she blamed several spills from a horse during filming for later back problems).
The film, a smash hit, made her a household name and she went on to star in nearly 60 movies and dazzle as the last great glamorous star of the Hollywood studio system. Her first adult role was in "Father of the Bride" (1950) and she followed that with such classics as "A Place in the Sun" (1951), "Giant" (1956), "Raintree County" (1957), "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof" (1958), "Butterfield Eight" (1960) "Cleopatra" (1963) and "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf" (1966).
She won Oscars for her performances in "Butterfield Eight" and "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?"
She was considered one of the world's most beautiful women with her electric violet eyes, cloud of dark hair and voluptuous figure and she acquired husbands with regularity: Conrad "Nicky" Hilton (1950-51), Michael Wilding (1952-57), Michael Todd (1957-58), Eddie Fisher (1959-64), Richard Burton (1964-74 and 1975-76), John Warner (1976-82) and Larry Fortensky (1991-1996). Todd died in a plane crash, leaving her a widow; she divorced all the others.
Taylor's relationship with acclaimed Welsh actor Burton burned up the headlines for years. They met during the filming of "Cleopatra" when he played Marc Antony to her Queen of the Nile. Both were married to others --Taylor's then-husband was Eddie Fisher, who had left his wife Debbie Reynolds for her -- and their tempestuous relationship was nonstop gossip fodder. Taylor once said of the time, "I don't remember much about 'Cleopatra.' There were a lot of other things going on."
It was also Burton who bought her several of her magnificent jewels, including the pear-shaped 69-carat diamond that came to be called the Burton-Taylor Diamond. (She later auctioned it off to fund a hospital in Botswana.)
The couple acted together again in a riveting version of "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf" -- for which Taylor, playing an unkempt shrew, won a Best Actress Academy Award to add to her earlier one for "Butterfield 8" --along with a string of lesser films including "The Sandpiper," "The Comedians" and "Boom!"
After the death of her close friend and "Giant" costar Rock Hudson from AIDS, Taylor threw herself into raising funds to fight the disease and co-founded the American Foundation for AIDS Research (AmFar). That work gained her a special Oscar in 1993.
Her own health went through some precarious patches: a near fatal illness while filming "Butterfield 8," a benign brain tumor, congestive heart failure, skin cancer, a repeatedly broken back, hip replacements and pneumonia.
She was also an entrepreneur, introducing several perfumes with names like "White Diamonds" and "Black Pearls" and a line of diamond and precious stone jewelry.
For her various activities, Taylor was made a Dame of the British Empire and a Commander of Arts and Letters by the French government.
Amid all the tumult of her life, all the headlines and publicity, both good and bad, Taylor just carried on. "I'm a survivor, " she once said, "a living example of what people can go through and survive."
Taylor is survived by her children, Michael and Christopher Wilding by her second marriage, Liza Todd by her third, and Maria Burton, who she adopted with Richard Burton, to whom she was twice married. She also had nine grandchildren.

I am not sure I like these changes for a few reasons
    1) Those who troll or insult can be reported via PM
    2) Opinions should be able to be stated in an argument and not need to be backed up by sources. Sources are nice, but requiring them? These are discussion threads on topics on the internet, not an official venue of anything

My suggestions would be to simply
    1) report trolling/namecalling posts
    2) request that if a point is brought up and taken hold of, that the person who brought up the point provide evidence or stop pressing the point....but not necessarily require sources right off

I know that many post as the topic interests them and want to discuss it but do not have in many cases the time to go dig up articles.

I don't feel that MR needs to take an active role in debate threads in terms of moderation aside from what has been done (not tolerating spam, name calling, trolling, etc). I feel debate threads should take whatever form as long as they are adhering to decency rules. I guess my point is that these forums are not akin to "debate club" and should not necessarily be treated as such. Besides, I have felt that moderation on past threads has been more than adequate in keeping the topic on topic and civil

    Just my opinion

You can set the power button double-tap option to pause/play the current song with the latest firmware.

Alternatively, the remote add-ons work with the nano 6th gen.

Wow, thanks iEvolution and Porco! I had no idea, especially the double tap to pause. That makes the nano a lot more attractive!

I found some decent prices at the store and I was wondering a few things.

-at what bitrate can they be downloaded at?
    -How are download speeds?

    That's all for now.

    Cheers,
    sid

Right now everything's at 128K AAC. No options as far as I know on that. Download speeds are hmm...much better than limewire? :p It takes me about 20-30 seconds to get a song on DSL or cable-modem. So its not ISP bandwidth limited, but its not awful either. If you're *gasp* on a dialup, it should definitely be able to keep pace with your connection.

On the topic of Apple Store from 1997, does anyone have archives of old on-line www.apple.com from the years 1999-2004? I am interested in seeing those PowerPC ads from the last 10 years.. I know there is an archive of older www.apple.com websites showing the PowerMacs, PowerBooks, etc..

    Check out wayback machine (http://waybackmachine.org/*/http://apple.com).

+1... you can use the same site in the original post and mess around with it for any URL you want. It's pretty cool. By same site I mean waybackmachine.

I just replaced the screen on my 15in early 2008 macbook pro. I booted it up and everything seemed to be working properly. I started messing with changing the brightness and I noticed when I turned the brightness down to one bar, the screen got really bright after a couple of seconds. Turning it down to zero bars didn't change anything.

    Can someone help me????

    Thank you!

What I am trying to do is replace my wife's black iPhone4 with a new white one. She would like to be able to keep her text message threads that reside on the black phone.

    Backup photos
Sync with iTunes to create backup
Make sure device is backed up by iTunes
Sync with new device to transfer all things over, including texts

So, I got my Newton eMate 300 that I bought off eBay. The listing said it didn't hold a charge, surprise, surprise, I stuck the charger on a bit and have been using it on my couch, on my bed, outside, etc with no power adapter for about 6 hours now...

So, when my dad brings home a serial cable for me, and I get a wireless card, I want to know of any internet applications I can use on this baby? I know there's a text browser that you can run from a Linux shell, is there anything like that for Newton OS?

Yes, please bring back the clickwheel and add a 2" square OLED touch screen to the next gen iPod nano. More importantly, include the notes, contacts, and calendars they dropped for the 6th gen iPod nano and the capability for apps. I bought a refurb 5th gen for that reason, although I liked the touch screen in principle on the 6th gen iPod nano.
