Apple lists these features on the side of the box. PCs only list the text so they put the stickers on the computer. But it is synonymous with everyone that the stickers are there to make you feel like you are getting a beast of a computer...

Sound cards, usb, firewire....Just wondering if I'm going to have to worry when I want to add stuff to my Mac
With an old G3 there should be plenty of literature. I'd be looking on the manufacturers' sites to see whether they support the OS you're running.
Also, the ebay ad says it has a PS/2 port, I think this is more likely an ADB port - I don't think any Mac has ever shipped with a PS/2 port.

Nice machine, and great work! I love that it's paired with the original Imagewriter.

I would suggest to start out with maybe an SX guitar and a cheap practice amp, that way if you want to stick with it, you can upgrade the amp and have a guitar that is better than most of the low end offerings of the big name companies, and if you decide it's not for you than you don't have that much invested in it. Picking up an instrument is so much fun though...I started on an acoustic about 8 years ago, then started playing bass in bands for about 5 years on an off and even now a lot of my time is spent on something music related. Good luck!

Blu-Ray + MPEG2 HD, looks like vomit!!! ;)
<]=)
HAHAHA. oh man, i don't even know what you are talking about. MPEG2 isn't the reason a BD looks bad or not, but good try.

Hi Pro's,
I have a MacPro from and lately I have had some annoying experiences.
A lot of applications (iTunes, MS office, even the Installer) stop responding after a little while. The beach ball comes inside
What can be done?
Yes, I have emptied the cachefiles every now and then
Yes, I have restarted with option-CMD-P-R
and yes, it helps a bit, but after some time the stopping starts again.
Who can help me with any advice, or should I just re-install all these applications ( again).
Thanks in advance
Best,
Carlo

I enjoyed reading Josh's posts and reviews. He definitely was the face of Engadget. I was really surprised when I read that he was leaving.
I wonder how long it will be before he reveals where he is working next.

Funny thing is, the one I received was from advanced replacement and wasn't a 5k but was still in rough shape.
The one I'm receiving is a brand new in retail box. It shouldn't have scratches unless a Foxconn employee messed up.
If I may ask, how'd u manage in retail box new? They're gonna send me a new one this time but it won't be in a retail box. Good luck.

I am trying to get the Allegro 5 frameworks to work with my Xcode project. I finally was able to get it to build, but with a few annoyances I would like to remedy.
First, some of the frameworks have header files included in them. In order to expose these to my project, I had to add the entire framework path to my header search path.
I noticed that if I did Allegro-5.0/allegro5/allegro.h it would also get the header file, but then the header files that allegro.h utilized would not be in the path. I assume there is some setting that lets me omit the Allegro-5.0 (the framework name) from the #include directive.
My second problem is it is not copying the frameworks into the app bundle. I imagine this is a setting somewhere in there, but I haven't found it.
I am using Xcode 4.

If you are doing work for this company, then surely you have a contract? When I'm doing work for a client, I don't worry about them stealing my work - that usually happens after I have completed a job and they start using the work for other purposes.
If you have a carefully worded contract, it should spell out your terms. But if someone is hiring you to produce art, then they own the rights to the work unless you've made arrangements otherwise.
I believe that if you start locking down your work, it says to a client that you don't trust them. I also believe that long-term relationships are more important than worrying about a particular work. I guess I'm more interested in making money than coveting my work. If a client steals my work, I send them a bill, and then I simply don't work for them anymore.
If you are worried about sending work on spec and having it taken without compensation, well... then you are screwed before you start. That is why I don't do spec work.
In your case, I would just send a flattened file and add a disclaimer that it's a proof/mockup and not for final usage. Trust them and they might trust you. It's called building a client relationship.

I previously had it set not to manage files and folders for me, however I recently added a path on my Airdisk for that and went File > Library > Organize Library.
So whilst that created a nice backup, what I didn't realize is that ofc now iTunes wants to play all my content from said AirDisk, which I'm not always connected to...
Will I need to wipe and re-add?
I want iTunes to constantly manage and update the library to the airdisk though, just not play it from there...
Tips and help much appreciated... !

I just like the idea of being Administrator. Is it bad? I don't have another username, as I wanted to use the root as my only account.
Should I just make a new username?

Personally, I mostly like old school Christmas songs. I have the Time Life Christmas CD set. So, that pretty much has everything you would ever want on it.
My favorite traditional Christmas songs are Hark! The Herald Angels Sing, The Little Drummer Boy and O Holy Night. Favorite non-traditional is Andy Williams’ It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year.
I also like 'The Christmas Attic’ by Trans-Siberian Orchestra (love ‘Christmas Canon’) and ‘Merry Christmas’ by Mariah Carey (picked this up in the bargain bin years ago, not usually a fan of her but it’s a great Christmas CD).

RATS!!
I was hoping this news would cause Apple Stock to tank.
Nope.
Up 41% for the year, 24% for the month, and 2% on the day at the time of this writing ($64.92/share)
I was broke when Apple Stock was $12/share in 2002. Had I scrounged to buy then I'd be sitting pretty now. I even made that recommendation to friends...
Today I thought the usual anti-Apple fearmongering Wall Street is known for would have hit the stock harder and afford another bargain opportunity.
Oh well...

I am looking for a bumper case with a bigger headphone jack. I have a pair of AKG K-55 headphones and would like a case that works with them. The jack is 9mm in diameter, so it won't fit in the Apple bumpers 6mm hole. My car dock also has a bit larger of a dock connector, so that is a concern too. I really like the style and feel of the Apple bumper, but with those tiny holes it is just impractical.

I don't see why it would not work. I thought about doing that, but then I realized my TV has USB ports with the ability to play movies. Does your tv have this?
If you plug it in to your ps3, just make sure everything is backed up somewhere (even if it is on your computer) and plug it in, see what happens. If it erases, then just transfer everything over to the hard drive again from your computer.
If it works, i would say to turn off your ps3 before unplugging the hard drive.
