#!/bin/bash
sh ~/Desktop/install.sh
exit 1
save it was whatever.command, and make that file executable. Should work I believe...
No idea what you're after with putting the install script "inside the package"

Hi,
I have been noticing considerable lag on my 2010 15" MBP (4GB ram) whilst using Photoshop Cs5.
I heard from my friend that if I were to use an external drive as a scratch disk, it would help.
I was wondering if this is true, and if so, what are the recommended external HDD?

you know, ive been reading around of people who have iEmulator.... some people are getting up into the 700-800mhz range on a G4.... but I dont necessarly know if they are actually getting that speed...
im only getting like, 200mhz on VPC7
If they're using QEMU as the base, not a hope. Closer to 50MHz if they're lucky.
I did a Win 98 install on QEMU about 6 months ago and it too 48 hours. Once you go to use it, it's better, but still nowhere close to VPC7.
Still, it is a very impressive piece of work.

All of that hippy stuff brings back memories of my youth. No never really participated in the movement. Think that I will save my money for a Mac.

I always tend to have all at once (not because I'm rich but because I'm greedy) but experience has told me that having a computer, Mac or PC, is more important just because it's more versatile as someone has already stated and can do so much more.
When I was having problems with my G5 and waiting for a replacement I had never known panic like it. With a console (my 360 recently), you just don't notice as much.
And it depends if you like the games on a mac which are somewhat limited to ports of two year old PC games and RTSs - which I love by the way. Consoles do the beat-em-ups, driving games etc.
Mac over everything though. Just make sure your Mac is fully specced for games if that's what you'll use it for. By the way, I found out recently that the Mac Star Wars: Empire at War will only run on the latest Intel Macs. Gutted! That's a lot of Mac users frozen out.

This type of game/scam is illegal under most states' laws. You can't require a purchase to play/win. And the prize has to be posted. You can't vary the prize depending on how much money you make. That is a raffle.

I'm planning on heading there later on today... Regardless of the line, I know the apple store will have enough iPads in stock. So i'm not worried.
I might head over at 2:30 (I have to buy some new headphones anyway so I might as well get them before I get the iPad)
I can update the status of the line when I get there

Why not just get more RAM? Its getting cheaper and cheaper you could probably find it for around $80.... And that will be better than a scratch disk.

Reset the SMC. Instructions in the following link under CHARGING. This should answer most, if not all, of your battery questions:
Apple Notebook Battery FAQ (http://forums.macrumors.com/showpost.php?p=9875442&postcount=23)
Hi
Yes, done all this in the past to no avail, just thought I would post to see if anything different fell out of the woodwork as
they say, thanks though, had forgotten about that page, now bookmarked.

Can MacRumors stop being butthurt and put up the "iPad" in the Buyer's Guide already? Many people from school, church, family have and still ask me about the new iPad 2. It would be really helpful to link them to the Buyer's Guide instead of the whole iPad forum were further search is necessary.

MS has a free app called Remote Desktop Connection that lets you use a Windows machine over the network. While this probably isn't quite what you were looking for, you might find it useful.

The Airport Express is a router.
Plug the Ethernet port into the single IP of choice. If the Express is is default configuration, you are all set - for 10 wireless clients.
This would probably been a better question in the Help discussion BTW.

I had a white macbook before getting my 13 air(2 weeks ago). I was also worried about the smallest text sizes because of the higher resolution. The text is smaller but not by much. You may not even notice the difference, but you will definitly notice how much clearer it is.

I installed Windows Vista on my Mac Mini and for some reason there is no sound when in I'm Windows. I get sound on the Mac partition but no sound on Windows. I checked Device Manager on the Windows partition and there were no errors for the sound drivers. Any ideas on this one?

Well, Digg had this two days ago...
Anyway, I wonder what impact this will have on their stock this quarter.

Remember the big blackout a couple years ago, when much of the Northeastern US was without power?
I was at work (I work at the Cleveland Clinic, a very large hospital) when the power went out. Several of our emergency generators were in a state of disassembly for maintenence, so parts of the hospital had no emergency power for some time, including some of the ICUs and ORs. And yes, there were a number of surgeries that had to be completed by flashlight.
It was pretty scary, but they were able to reroute power from less critical areas with good generators and all major equipment survived on battery backup till they got everything sorted. Still, the entire hospital was full of equpiment alarms going off, it was insane.
I work in the research building, and our generator functioned but its power was rerouted to critical areas, so the research department lost tens of thousands of dollars in mutant cell lines. Fortunately most cells were stored in the -80C freezers which can maintain safe temperatures for 24hours or more, and were saved.

The system would have originally come with grey restore DVDs. You should include them when you sell the system; they also include iLife and any other bundled apps.
Ok got it. They are 3 years old and are 10.4.9 .
Really appreciate your help.

The 7800 was too noisy for me, too, on the one quad I had with it.
Get the Quadro fx4500 for the G5.
There are internal wires that lead down to the where the plastic deflector sits. You can try to trace them to see why the little metal tab on the bottom of the deflector is being overridden. Or not.
