Hi all, i have SQLite table where my records stays as:
Antenna
Apple
April
Buffalo
Ship
Pill
..
To be able to display them on sectioned UITableViewController, i query the first letters from these records and create an array with them. Then for each letter in the array, i again query table and get each records starting with that letter. I guess you got the idea.
Since i do these operations in the app, it takes quite time (3-4 seconds) and app pauses in those seconds. I was curious if i can create those arrays and store somehow in the system. I can re-create them when i update the data time to time.
Thanks a lot in advance..

OK, I'll try to make it simpler, so you can understand.

If you have a folder and you create an alias, anything you drag to the alias will actually be placed in the folder, as illustrated by the arrows labeled "2" in the screen capture above. You will not have one copy of a pic in the folder and another copy in the alias. An alias cannot contain pics or any files. It simply points to an existing file or folder.
As you can see by the arrow labeled "1" in the screen capture above, you can drag pictures directly from Photo Booth into any folder you choose. You can also drag a picture to the Mail icon on your Dock to attach that picture to an email. You can also click on a picture in Photo Booth and press the "delete" key to delete the picture, so nothing is saved in the Photo Booth folder.
Actually, it's not. Address Book and iCal don't give you the option to change the location of their associated files, and they're not the only ones. It's not uncommon for an app to not provide a method for changing default locations of associated files.
If I drag the picture from the actual Photo Booth application after I take it onto my desktop does it still put a copy of that photo in the Photo Booth folder?

I'm going to get a :apple:TV soon. :)
Just wish there was a way I could plug my Wii into it?
<]=)
I just plug my AppleTV in, pick a playlist, unplug the video cables, then only put in the video cables for my Wii.

I would like to see the start up time (not that it matters that much, honestly, but it's always interesting) Also, it would be cool if you could do some performance tests with Xcode and Photoshop.
What about some general speed? E.g. start up time of applications.
regarding start up time, my 2011 base 27" took 30seconds which im very happy with :D

I plan on heading out there around 2-3 after my brother gets off of work. Getting kinda worried with all this talk about shortages and long lines though

But maybe I will be suprised because by now I set my expectations so low...:D You can go to the education area of the Apple Store (http://www.apple.com/education/) where you can find prices that are somewhat lower for those available to the general public. You don't have to wait for promotions, although those may reduce your price even more.

I'd get the MBA & Gaming PC.
Just get a minimum i5 quad processor, a high end graphics card, and 4gb of ram (I'm just assuming all you're doing is gaming, so of course just change those specs to meet what you need) and you'll be playing everything far better than you would with that Macbook Pro and you'll still have the Air for portability.

Hello,
I'm looking for some advice please. Here is a recording of my wife's iPhone 3G. Today when she got it out of her bag the screen was as can be seen in the video. The phone appears to be working fine 'behind the scenes' as I can make it do certain things as in the video. The phone will sync/ backup etc so the motherboard isn't dead or anything.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pIqESfJxjdA
The crack on the screen was done at least 3-4 months ago, and has never caused her a problem, so i'm not convinced it's to do with that.
I took it apart, removed connectors 1-3, reconnected them and still get the same problem.
I'm looking for some advice as to what people think may be the problem please. Is it most likely a dodgy LCD screen? Connector 1 appears to be fine, and seems to click into the mating connector fine. If i can replace just the lcd screen it might be worth fixing, if not it may be bye bye iPhone.

Open in QT, then Command-I.
Or take a look at Media Info Mac. (http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/26861/mediainfo+mac)
Thx - I've now used Media Info to extract video-compression-info. I've attached the info here; the first image is the one that works fine on PC, the second does not ... any ideas why??

I really like the composition and the differently colored areas. Not equally fond of the noisy/grainy stuff though.
Not much I can do about ISO3200 on an original 1D body, and I think that the natural noise looks better than heavily processed noise reduction stuff. Thanks though.

It only says "the build" so from your description it seems likethe face book app. Try deleting the app then re download it. I doubt the pop up is a problem, unless the phone still isn't working. I would delete the app then re download it then if u get it again u can email them, u will get there e-mail at there iTunes app page.

I'd just use a router or ethernet switch. It doesn't slow your connection down, unless you are trying to use a lot of bandwidth on both computers.

Applecare really comes in handy if you have problems. I had an early '08 macbook pro with the faulty nvidia card. The entire thing must have been replaced before I sold it: two bad screens, multiple fans replaced, logic board replaced, hard drive replaced, and probably more, I'm just forgetting.
Yeah, I was amazed at how caring the Apple Support rep seemed. He actually seemed like he wanted to help me get my problem fixed. In my experiences with Dell and HP, that has never happened. They have never really cared. Their reps seemed tired, bored, and unwilling to even address my problem a couple of times.
You can run a great company that makes great products, but in my opinion if your support sucks, it's not worth buying your products and I have learned this from experience after dealing with Dell and HP. This is especially true when it comes to laptop/desktop companies since people already spend thousands upon thousands of dollars on laptops/desktops themselves, in addition to buying accessories for them, warranties, and computer parts.
So, in my opinion it all comes down to how helpful a companies Support team is.

I just got to 200, I cold of swore it was 200 not 250.
Was this changed recently? No, it's been 250 for quite a long time, the current Marketplace went live in according to the Marketplace Rules.
Guess I could just post stupid fluff/crap like the people that get it in a few months.
That would not be a good idea, as it would violate several rules and potentially get you in trouble.
If you see people overposting or making useless post or any other violation of the rules, please report the post(s), so the moderators can delete them and - if necessary - issue warnings or worse...

I'd guess, wrong part or incorrect installation, or both.
