Silverlight may be coming to XBOX now also. That means, Windows, Mac, Windows Phone 7, and browsers will be on the Silverlight train.
It's aleady got a ton of capabilities past gaming.
-Media Steaming/DLNA
-Zune
-ESPN360
-Netflix
-Windows Media Center
Now you might be able to add "apps" and apps using Kinect to the list
Add Zune Pass and you're set. I dont see too much need for Apple TV/Google TV with XBOX. Maybe Im missing something though because I havent looked too much into Apple TV

A question for you avid music listeners that [like myself] need to have everything near perfect.
How do you guys go about Genre naming some of your music? Do you just give it a name like Alternative and be done or do you name it Alternative Rock, if it's a little heavier Alternative?
The reason I ask is that I've got several [fairly new bands] to my collection and I don't know what to name them.
I also have a hard time genre naming some bands back in the 70's & 80's since there was bands like Supertramp, Billy Joel and then you'd have Rush. I don't consider Supertramp and Rush in the same category so I can't just name it Rock.
Do you do Classic Rock for both The Beatles & The Doors?
Any ideas, or am I thinking too hard about this?

results speak for themselves.
36 get a mac
2 get a ps3
If it was who wants to be a millionare and you just asked the audience - I think you can call that result a 'safe bet'.

I'd like to purchase a new fully decked out Mac Pro with the maximum 64GB of RAM, but I obviously don't want to have to pay Apple $3,550 for the extra RAM.
Does anyone have any experience with, or words of advice about, the RAM sold by OWC (sold here (http://eshop.macsales.com/item/Other%20World%20Computing/1333D3X8M64K/))
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Based on my experience with the iOS App Store:
When you submit an app to the store, the store performs an automated series of validations (is there an executable? do you have a developer account? did you rate your app?). It sounds like Apple has made that automated series of validations available as a stand alone app. That way you can run the validations before you submit to the App Store, and use the results of the validation to clean up your submission (if necessary).

I'm thinking about selling my MacBook now. Do any of you think there will be a significant design change to the white one?
Well for overall design I don't know about many changes with that; the build quality is already great and unless they made it out of aluminium (which is highly unlikely) it should look around the same.
As for internals, I'm thinking an iCore processor and probably larger capacity harddrives. The Pro is still Apple's most powerful laptop and although they might tune up the specs, it won't bleed over into Pro territory.

I just bought an MBP a few weeks ago and I want to add it to my active directory server. I read only there is suppose to be an application under Applications/Utilities but I don't seem to have it. Do I have to download something from Apple? Can I add my Mac to AD? Any help is appreciated.

You can restore your iTunes Library file from just before the deletion, via Time Machine. You'll have to do this while iTunes is NOT running, though. By default, the file is here: /Users/username/Music/iTunes/iTunes Library

Hello All-
I just got back into distributed computing again with my new C2D iMac. I joined SETI & immediately joined the Mac Rumors team. I was suprised to find myself in 10th place now since I have only this one computer & it is now splitting the proccessor time 50% with the World Community Grid.
I searched for & could not find a MR team for WCG. I read Slookster's call for people to join the fight against AIDS & asked to have us sign in a previous thread to show our support. I figure we just need a team. I would be willing to set one up if that is allowed.
I really like the WCG concept of multiple research projects & that they use the BOINC client. Check it out:

It's been weeks now. My mac has forgotten everything. Some stuff just pop ups, and then I have to approve it or not. Stuff like if I give some program permission to do something. And then it always forget the password to wi-fi. Everytime I restart it or it goes on sleep mode, it asks for the password. And today I can't even get on the net because it has forgotten the ip-address.
It all began after I restarted my mac normally, as usual.
Someone who know what is wrong, and tell me what to do?

What are the best web hosting/service sites to upload iWeb designs?
I think this just refers to what is the best web host.... because at the end of the day your just uploading it via FTP.
However, i suppose MobileMe, would be the one that people would suggest... and that's because it is 'built in'.
I done a quick google, and a site that come up multiple times was BlueHost (http://www.bluehost.com/) but i don't know if they are actually any good.

If you had tried running Lion, you would know by now that this is simply not the case.

I believe that you still need to program the NAM on the phone, but having never seen a Verizon iPhone I don't know whether a jailbreak is required for that or not. You'd also need to know the SPC although I read somewhere that all Verizon phones just use 000000.

my setup...
Firewire Video Camera
1ghz Powerbook G4 with 1gb RAM
5mbs cable connection
theirs...
USB IceCam from macally
1.33ghz Powerbook G4 with 512mb RAM
7mbs cable connection
its so choppy, 2fps at most. im not expecting 30, but a little more than 2. am i doing something wrong? are there other AIM clients with better video support?
-rozwell
have you and your buddy put the bandwith limit of iChat to "None" found in iChat preferences Video section. ? That may be part of the problem.

I checked out the demo, and it's a no-go for me. Really didn't like the controls, the way the cars steer.

Ok, so the solution is not to avoid using the link, but rather to make sure you send the faulty cable back.
Yep.
I'll try and remember this if i ever need to replace one. Thanks.

so vga to converter is still the only way to do this? I was just making sure there havent been any new solutions to this delimna
Yes, as Component is analog in most consumer products, thus VGA does suffice.
