Regarding what Dav posted, would I need to be jailbroken on 3.2.2?
just got my iPad 1 in today and the firmware is old school.
I know 4.3 has a tethered jailbreak on it right now AND it has some battery issues and what not
Would I be able to somehow update to 4.2.2 INSTEAD of 4.3? That way I'd hold on to good battery life and untethered jailbreak. Once more, I am NOT jailbroken right now so I am wondering if I need to do that first.

1. No-one has been able to suggest to me a way to eliminate the break which iTunes playback inserts between tracks on a DJ mix CD. Like an uninvited guest, it just happens. Crossfading is a silly gimmick with no real use and certainly doesn't address the problem. Choosing a time between tracks of 'zero' doesn't fix the problem either. If you can't burn the mixed CD as ONE track then you are out of luck.
2. My iMac pauses occasionally, during playback - sound stops, as if taking a breath, the harddrive does something or other (?), then playback resumes. Asking the harddrive to NEVER shut down (in performance settings) does not correct the problem. Extremely annoying!
3. Loss of function in iTunes vs the older Apple CD player: you can't 'rewind' thru a track and continue rewinding into the previous track. You can only rewind within the track you are playing and then must click on the previous track to rewind thru it. Annoying if what you are doing is studying how, on a mix CD, the artist skilfully blended track A into track B.
Please fix these problems, guys!

Just dropped by Tuesday3/15 7:45am, no one in line. Employees already taking Genius appointments and one stationed by the door to say they don't have any today and don't know when they'll get them.

There is no real way of knowing unless you were to bug and spy on every single person who has anything to do with apple-at the workplace and at home. This means that it could be or it couldn't be. I find no reason for writing this post and anyone out there who thinks I make no sense-just tell me to stop.

For those of you still involved in SETI@home...
SETI@home NewsSETI@home has completed its transition to BOINC (Berkeley Open Infrastructure for Network Computing). BOINC, developed at U.C. Berkeley, is a framework for volunteer computing projects like SETI@home.
Switching your computer to the new "SETI@home/BOINC" is easy. Visit http://setiathome.berkeley.edu for instructions. We'll be shutting down the "SETI@home Classic" project on December 15. The workunit totals of users and teams will be frozen at that point, and the final totals will be available on the web.
Scientists at other universities are using BOINC to create volunteer computing projects in areas like molecular biology, high-energy physics, and climate change study. See http://boinc.berkeley.edu for more information. BOINC lets you donate computer time to multiple causes, divided up however you want. For example, your PC could spend 40% of its time searching for extraterrestrial life (SETI@home), 30% studying climate change (http://climateprediction.net), and 30% studying protein folding, design and docking (Rosetta@home: http://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/).
You can run SETI@home 100% of the time if you want. But we strongly encourage you to participate in other projects. Doing so ensures that when SETI@home is down or has no work, your computer stays busy helping other researchers.I thought they made the BOINC switch long ago, but apparently I was just remembering when they started the switch.

The Rebel SIM is just not ready yet. They keep making excuses and keep pushing it back. It simply isn't fully ready yet (probably working out some last minute kinks). Either that, or they're having problems manufacturing.
But the lack of notice for customers why they're waiting over half a month is disturbing and makes me choose the Gevey Pro SIM instead. I don't mind doing the process (how often do you reboot anyway [unless you're doing something in Cydia]). The untethered thing is real attractive, but for the price and the unknown true wait time, may as well dish out 40$ (for one off their site...cheaper on eBay) to have an unlocked phone now.
As for dev team, they've been pretty quiet about this. If I remember correctly, it's cause mainly one person was familiar with the iP4 unlocking process and he hasn't been heard from online for quite some time. Since that expert is now gone, dev team has slowed down tremendously. I love dev team and all, but when you look at it, it's only a select few that release certain things. The few members who are widely known release only one type of thing (i.e. jailbreak or unlock or something). If that one expert in their field of expertise disappears, dev team struggles. With the disappearance of the member who did iP4 unlock, the dev team has slowed down/halted progress on the iP4 unlock for basebands beyond 01.59.
And if I'm mistaken, please correct me! This is only based off what I heard, so yeah. I may be wrong!! This is NOT 100%.

Still, an iBook with a 13" screen, 32mb video system, and a G4 running around 800 MHz sounds a whole lot like a TiBook. The only way any of this is going to happen is if the TiBooks get a big speed bump along with the iBooks at MWSF. Still, I'm buying then no matter what.
Yep...I agree completely.

The Quadro is the best card available for the Dual Core/Quad G5s.
No. The X1900 is 25% stronger. The Quadro's only good point is the extra ram. Its not worth the extra money.

i've always wondered why someone doesn't put a small cam in a plugin module, similar in size to a USB cable dock connector. the cam would be facing forward of course, have a light for additional illumination and would be able to communicate with software on the iPhone to do video chatting.
Never going to happened. Apple wont allow such device to work with iphone. As a mirror attachment thing; bulky and will be looking really silly so not going to happened neither.
For me fring is good indication that Apple might be planning to implement ichat AV with front camera in june/july iphone. That what I hope for anyway...really badly:rolleyes:

I too have a 867 Dual PowerMac and the Gforce4 card is "okay." I say okay because of the slow down in games because of either the 32MB of RAM on the card or the fact that Mac games "STILL" depend on the processor for painting rather than using the memory on the Video Card. I would wait for newer games to come out that use the video memory and certainly upgrade to something more than 32MB of ram. Especially if you are like me and want to play your games in the default resolution for your monitor of 1280x1024x32. Hope that helps.
P.S. If you really have money to spend, get a PC to play your games, because the Mac rules for everything, but for games, it still stinks. Check this link out below.
