the default allotment of ram on apple's entire line up is an embarrassment, you HAVE to have a minimum of 512 and preferably higher, yet they give you a useless amount forcing you to upgrade right off the bat. what's even more embarrassing is they provide tester's and store displays with only 256mb making any testers believe these machines are POS's because they don't know any better!!

Click Finder > Preferences when you are not in any program but Finder (just click on your desktop) and click on the check box next to "Network" on the "sidebar" pane. :)

KeithPratt makes the very valid point that every mp4 isn't equal and it is quite possible to make a video from an HD file that is too complex to read by some machines.
Also, an m4v is simply an mp4 with a different extension. Change the file name from X.m4v to X.mp4 and it will play better on some equipment. Handbrake allows you to choose which extension you prefer, but you can always change the the extension after you've encoded the file.
You might also ask your clients to install a program called VLC, which is excellent at playing a wide variety of file types.

Why didn't you guys go with something that had worked for many people like the gevey adapter? Instead of taking a chance with something unknown?

I think I just decided not to go the the ATT store at 5:00am and just go to work like I always do and get my wife to head down there at around 11:00am or later. Not really worried about getting the darn thing anymore. Too much hype now im burnt out.

HOLY CRAP!!!!
Ordered Wednesday - received today!!! Just got back from a meeting an it was waiting on my desk!
Opened up the brown shipping box, already thinking " wow the new box must be small", but on opening the actual iPod box was within another box!
The new box is tiny (due to the lack of power adapter :rolleyes: ) - it must be around a third of the size to the old box - 16cm x 16cm x 6cm. Remove the sleeve and you're greeted by the typical Apple clamshell packaging, the inner of the top section holding the headphones, USB2 cable and beltclip - the bottom (under the mini)holding the manuals etc. If anyone is bothered I may put up some pics when I get home...
I ended up going for the silver, and to my eyes it does look slightly darker than my current mini. I'll check when I get home if this is true before it goes off to its new owner.
Not sure if this is new, but there are operating instructions actually on the clear wrapping plastic surrounding the mini itself - I don't remember seeing them on my other iPods....
I'll be doing some real world testing on it tonight after I've given it a full charge and see how long the battery does last for....
I'm still amazed at the speed of this delivery! Nice one Apple!
Update: Just got home, and the new box is just over half as big as the old box, and the instructions are in fact on the back of the old mini wrapper too.... strange I've never noticed! The colours are identical - not really that surprising for the silver I suppose! The only obvious difference is the inclusion of the 6GB sign on the back of tne new mini...

I have several images in a folder, I know how to access the folder, I just need to display these images in an IKImageBrowserView, so I guess a better question would be:

You have to put them into the array (NSMutableArray) one at a time. Computers are pretty stupid, they do not understand simple things, we have to tell them step by step what to do.

for designers block, these are how I get a new insight.
invert the colors in the graphics program.
flip it top to bottom.
print it out and jump on it (seriously).
stand back 15 ft.
use photoshops hue saturation and brightness window, drag the hue slider around.
go back to the drawing board... with finger paints, collage, or foodstuffs.
cut it into squares like puzzle (like 6x8) pieces and try to put it back together.
these methods help me think different.
