Really? You are always logged in and can't be logged out? Every single one of your contacts using those desktop services are always logged in as well and you can always communicate with them via that method!? NOOOOOOOOOOOOPE!
The beauty of a mobile IM application is that you KNOW you can communicate with someone via that method no matter what. You don't have to check first if they're "logged in" (then if they're not logged in go back and send an SMS instead) b/c you and your contacts are always logged in.
Throw in the fact you can see when the message leaves your phone, gets delivered, when a contact is typing, fast file sharing, group chats, location sharing, broadcast messages etc and it's not even close to the same thing. Sorry.
actually they stayed loggedin for 7 days, and thats only if you're inactive for 7 days, applies to all people using it, most IM services, such as gtalk, msn, yahoo all do offline messaging, facebook does it as a message. with ebuddy i can see when people are typing, i can have group chats, do location sharing and i can file share with the apps too. so far the only thing i can't do is broadcast messages, which i've never heard of until you mentioned it, so therefore have no need. so really BBM only seems to do 1 thing that beejive and ebuddy don't do. the SMS thing is a bit silly, if someone ain't online and i want to message them i'll just SMS them, simple as, it's not like i cannot do that.

My advice is if you are not tech savvy enough to understand the activity monitor don't look at it. If you're not tech savvy enough to check your RAM usage, don't check it. If you're not savvy enough to understand x, then don't worry about x.

I am not sure I like these changes for a few reasons
1) Those who troll or insult can be reported via PM
2) Opinions should be able to be stated in an argument and not need to be backed up by sources. Sources are nice, but requiring them? These are discussion threads on topics on the internet, not an official venue of anything
My suggestions would be to simply
1) report trolling/namecalling posts
2) request that if a point is brought up and taken hold of, that the person who brought up the point provide evidence or stop pressing the point....but not necessarily require sources right off
I know that many post as the topic interests them and want to discuss it but do not have in many cases the time to go dig up articles.
I don't feel that MR needs to take an active role in debate threads in terms of moderation aside from what has been done (not tolerating spam, name calling, trolling, etc). I feel debate threads should take whatever form as long as they are adhering to decency rules. I guess my point is that these forums are not akin to "debate club" and should not necessarily be treated as such. Besides, I have felt that moderation on past threads has been more than adequate in keeping the topic on topic and civil
Just my opinion

... can someone please help me out with creating a logo that looks like a wispy cloud ...
Let's talk about this for a moment. Logos need to have impact, both visually and symbolically. A wispy cloud doesn't seem to have either of these qualities.
What are you trying to say with your wispy cloud? Is there perhaps a better way to convey what you're hoping to convey?

You can manually change the class of the cells in IB.
For example, to put a button on a HUD window

Yup. They sure were. Bad ROM/Cache Dimm, EMI Clips that scratch the logic board, the 5200 had a brittle RGB cable, CommSlot cards with no "hook", LC-PDS slot problems, Power Supplies that die or go BANG etc etc....
I'd suggest getting a take apart for it. I've seen plenty of people all but destroy the case trying to get in. :D
Do a Google for:
6200 6300 pdf performa
There is a small grey plug that fits the burner which then slides into a socket inside the chassis. Some burners' SCSI interface isn't aligned the same but I have no way of knowing which will work. Apple predominantly used Panasonic/Matsushita & Sony CDROM drives. You may have trouble with the size of the tray nose. Toast 4 updated to 4.1.3 or Toast 5 updated to 5.2.x should be perfect. Try to get Toast Deluxe (v4) or Toast 5 Titanium as they are full uncrippled versions.
With 72pin RAM they are slow. OS 8 will be horrible. The 5400/6400 improved on that with FPM DIMMs. Update the 7.5.x to 7.5.5.
If at all possible, use DriveSetup 1.7.3 (http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=58303) to re-format the drive. The 5200/6200 used an on-board IDE driver initially and if you use the original DriveSetup, there will be no driver partition on the drive and could have trouble mounting the bare drive in other systems if ever required. A newer IDE drive can assist with the overall speed, but don't go nuts on capacity. 40GB drives work IIRC.
Good luck!
Also, when that performa does wind you up to the point of destruction (I recently turned one down based on the fact they are so terrible) - id go and get a Quadra 700 (or get one in preparation) - as their beautiful machines from that era. Until 2004 or so I used a Quadra 700/7.1 at school in the "music studio" and it worked wonderfully with a very old copy of I believe it was ProTools (v2/v3 maybe - not quite sure).

Hi!
Thank you both for replying and for the advice!
I have tried to export using imovie and then reimporting, but to me the quality didnt look so good. (the colors got faded for ex)
I think I will continue testing different exporting modes istopmotion like you suggested and/or also look into the Dragon software.
Thanks again for taking your time to reply!
All the best to you!

There have been a couple of times now when I have noticed a page has been spammed with junk (and invisible) links. I notice when HexMonkey and Arn find something similar and they fix it, it shows up in the history/recent changes as '(Reverted edit of 123.123.123.123, changed back to last version by HexMonkey)' - Is there a button I'm missing that allows me to do the same or is it a moderator only function?
At present I'm just manually deleting the unwanted content and leaving a quick note (e.g "deleted spam").

A tip for everyone wanting to watch video on a Sony PSP:
Having trouble putting video on your PSP? Do the following:
Download 2 applications from the internet: Handbrake and PSPware. Both are free/shareware.
Put the DVD into your Mac and use Handbrake to transfer to MPeg4.
IMPORTANT: make sure you choose the right language and/or subtitles here!
Next: transfer the MPeg4 file to the PSPware window. PSPware will automatically transfer your MPeg4 file to your PSP (make sure it is connected to your computer.)
This procedure is time consuming but al least it works properly.
Should you have discovered an easier way, please let me know.

Probably not. Who knows where all the meta data lives. I'm surprised that Apple doesn't support something like this.
I really don't feel like losing hundreds of email and other items.

@MechaSpanky, someone could still take a screenshot and apply some simple Photoshop (as MacDawg has said).
Yes, that is true and it is a very good point but I still think that a locked PDF file (with the editing capabilities restricted) will deter most people who might think about stealing your stuff. Sure there are others out there that will take the time to download a high res screen capture utility (you will have to actually download a program to do this as the normal screen capture on Macs is 72 ppi, which is low res) but I would imagine that most companies wouldn't do that. It is the same problem that software companies face with piracy. There will always be people who can and will steal stuff, but the majority will not.
I myself, as a designer have been asked to submit samples of my work for review by clients. I have never had anyone steal any of my work (although there have been a couple of companies that might have "borrowed" some of my design ideas but that is even harder to prevent). Just to be safe, I always use a PDF with restricted editing capabilities and I also add a watermark. Sure someone can get around this but it will take them a while to do it (never underestimate the power of a well placed watermark, it can make retouching an image very difficult if positioned correctly).
In the end, I would imagine that the best thing to do is to make sure that you can trust the people who you are dealing with. Of course this is not always an option (nor is it an easy thing to determine).

nope you are allowed to test prototypes, just not offer them for sale without FCC approval.
As an employee of a phone manufacturer, I just wanted to vouch for that - you can use the devices for testing; you just can't sell them. Absolutely correct.

Another querie...why is it all things Microsoft seem inordinatly difficult, even in the smallest and most annoying way??? I sometime use MIM, the latest version to chat to folks...now when I make an alias and place it in the dock, when I sign out / quit the alias diappears...no other app seems to do this....do they do things like this in Redmond just to bother us or are they just inept all rpound?
And oh yeah...can I stop this from happening...?
