This is an Apple site, not a science site. There is a justification for having iPhone forums on an Apple site. There isn't a good justification for having a Science forum on an Apple site. At least, nobody's put forth a good one yet.

I believe I didn't make myself terribly clear. Not terribly interested in random discussions of science, or even the science behind Apple products. More...the use of Apple's in research. Their interests, especially in terms of performance, are vastly different even than other pro-users.
CalBoy's idea is also a good one - if there isn't enough volume for "Macs in Higher Ed", is there enough volume for "Macs in the Workplace?".

PCI-express G5 does not throttle as much. If you use your own programs, avoid classic events. Use carbon events instead.

Just can't get myself to buy Bioshock2 for some reason...I think I'll go straight to this one!
Depends on what you liked from the first one. BioShock 2 was a better "game" to play, as the shooting and plasmid mechanics were refined a little bit, and it had a little more variety in the action. But, if you liked the story, and creepy pacing and atmosphere from the first one, BS2 was not as good. Though, it could just be the fact that experiencing Rapture for the first time in BioShock 1 was so amazing, it was kind of impossible for BioShock 2 to live up to it. But really, it was a good game. If you find it on sale anywhere, it is still very worth playing.
I guess real estate under the ocean became too expensive and they decided to lease air-rights instead.
I hate to be a buzzkill on your joke, but this game takes place in 1912, about 30-40 years before the events of Rapture.

Great! However, I didn't like the black background. Why didn't you use the original background? I agree with skyfex. You should include all faces from 0% - 100%. DOOM DOOM *clap clap clap* DOOM DOOM! :D

I like the Angry Peeps and the "Mupeep Show" The iPeep2 display was great, just for the amazing level of detail on the Apple Store.
And I now have the theme from the Muppet Show stuck in my head.

Well done my blue friend. :D
And I agree, great points Gelfin. Hope is powerless when paired with "idle hands". To me it should be both a source of comfort and motivation.

The iEmulator site admits it's built on top of qemu. What's the big deal here, hm?
From the FAQ:
If that is true, and they abide by the license, then absolutely nothing.
I have no interest in the product, and haven't checked the site out. By the tone of previous comments I got the impression other people felt something shady was going on.

yea but i dont want to wait another 3 weeks for that deal to come besides i dont need an ipod.
Yeah if I wasn't on a tight budget i'd buy mine already, but even though i'm not going to use the iPod, paying taxes (~$33) for it in Canada and reselling it for just under Apple's price you'll end up getting the iMac for near $300 cheaper including the student discount.

The Charlie Sheen show has been funnier than any episode of Two and a Half Men.
Even better, it caused the cancellation of that show!

as someone speculated in the uncovered drape thread (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=414004), could the whole "air" thing have something more directly related to the increasingly wrongly named iTunes and its function as a central hub for media, shopping and peripheral management? is this the year they finally rename it to something more appropriate? iHub? iAir? iSomethingLessLameThanThoseFirstTwo?
I cant wait till the day is over so people will finally figure out the "air" (plus any text on the bottom of the drape) is a fake addon.

I know it doesn't work with what apple's vision of what the shuffle is, but to me, the current nano would be the perfect shuffle and a new nano with a larger screen (but still significantly smaller than a touch) with a click wheel would be the perfect nano....maybe in a few generations

I agree.
The classic for me is much more convient at the gym than my touch or other iPods mainly because of the large storage. I hope that they don't discontinue them.

OSX shields you from getting into some of the nuts and bolts of things. This can be good or bad depending on whether you like to delve into such stuff.
I find that I still use windows because it does some things better, so I haven't lost any of the bits of knowledge.
The same can be said for using Unix or Linux, I used to use fedora quite a lot and so now, I'd be hard pressed to know the various yum parameters to install an app.
Given time you'll notice some of the short cuts and stuff that makes life easier in OSX, and if you move back to windows, you'd soon forget those as well.
