Besides Nanofrog's really good advice there is also another option, namely going with the ZFS filesystem, which can make dynamic stripes on its own.
In this manner you can skip on the expensive RAID-card altogether and opt for more drives and the only filesystem that really offers data integrity.
You could grab this 12-bay Hot-swappable enclosure (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16816133044) for a meager $399.99 and have enough upgrade options down the road.

So I'm wondering when they'll actually close this thread, although I would like an iPhone if anyone cares. 4gb or 8gb, makes no difference to me!
Lemonade does sound good...I just have water...I'm all out of everything :(

Think about what you want a tripod head to do. Traditionally, there were head with 3 controls (up/down - swing left/right - rotate left/right) - and quick release (one control for all movements). Of course there are hybrids in between.
The formal is most useful for landscape type shots. For example, you could fine tuned the rotation so the horizon was level - by pointing the camera down until the horizon was near the top edge (really easy to eyeball how straight it is). Then you panned up/down to put the horizon on the exact level you wanted. And since the rotation control was locked down you knew the horizon was going to stay level. And then finally you can pan left<-->right knowing that the horizon is set.
The quick release (pistol grip) allows you set it up faster. Good for sports, for instance. But I find them frustrating when trying to frame a subject precisely (when I've tried out other people's tripods).

For example, if I have two cameras and take a picture of a subject ten feet away, I want to choose the camera that captures more of the background.
Must have HD video recording capabilities too.
Thank you so much.

No. The vast majority of 2011 MBP users are having no issues. People come to a forum because they have an issue. It happens every time there is an update. For every one that has a problem there are hundreds others who have no problems.
Go for it and enjoy your new MBP.

I have been looking all over the place, macrumors and greenpoison website to no avail. Every time I try the link to greenpoison it won't load the web page. I am not sure what I am doing right or wrong. I am trying to jailbreak my ipod touch 4.2.1 to see if I like it before doing my Verizon Iphone. Any help or links would be greatly appreciated. I am very new at this and this would be my first jailbreak ever. Thanks in advance.

As far as a great resource for Mac OS X (Panther) you should check out David Pogue's "Mac OS X The Missing Manual (Panther Edition)". It will tell you eveything you'd ever want to know about Mac OS X, and then some.
I agree, this book has gotten me out of hot water a time or two. I learn better by doing though, so when I switched a few years ago I just played around until I picked it up.
The best part about OSX is that it is so intuitive and very easy to learn. :)

Not exactly but several friends/family members have spent amounts totalling hundreds or thousands of pounds on Apple computers based on my experiences and recommendations.
They all still talk to me so I can`t have steered them too far wrong.
Just waiting for my commission from Apple ;)

Zepp,
Download Handbrake (providing youre on a mac). then, download VLC.
Next, open Handbrake.
Insert DVD.
Select where you want file stored(in handbrake).
Start Handbrake.
Once the program is done, you will see the file in .Mp4
You can drag that into iTunes and it will sync to your iPad.
"You can put down the cocktail, your movie is done"
Thats what i was needing, an idiots guide !! lol
Thanks to both of you , Macdawg and clutchthese
Will give it a go

Just a shout out to all the Apple fans who enthuse about Apple's great customer service ethic. I bought Aperture 2 to go with my new iMac just before Xmas - I'm impressed how obsolete and totally unsupported it is only a couple of months later.
I don't feel like rewarding Apple with another Aperture sale, so its off to Lightroom I go. ;)

Ok, can you provide the link? I have never replaced a stock cooler on a video card before.. is it easy?? Also, is it expensive to get this? Can you provide the link?
Thanks.
Also, do you know why my yellow trickle light isn't coming on?
i've got a G5 2.0 with a 6600 LE graphics card. I've been looking for a better card if you want to sell your 7800GT or trade plus some cash on my part. don't want to stray too far off topic so i'll dm you
