Fellow Switchers,
It's 1993. The family is excited. Dad has just opened the box on a new "brandless" computer -- the kind with silver-laminate logos and a fancy, vented beige case.
After sorting out the exhaustive cable-array, and situating the uncomfortably propane-stove-sized CPU on a desk too small for it, we flick a big switch from "0" to "I".
Fans whir.
A line of white text scrolls onscreen . . .
Windows 3.1!
I excitedly hit the hertz-doubling "Turbo" button -- remember those? -- instantly boosting its performance to a sizzling 16MHz.
We sit by patiently, allowing applications to creep past their startup screens.
This is enjoyed for two weeks. Then comes "the crash". Dad calls everyone he can call. It is beyond repair. The bulky unit is discarded for $75.00. It is replaced with a teensy gray box spotted by two rainbow-colored apples. The front says "SE 30".
Instant reaction: It's only black and white!
But, hey, neat . . . Shanghai, AOL, Word Perfect, and a fun desktop pixel-rearranger! Awesome!
THREE YEARS LATER . . .
"Son, we bought a new computer."
"Did you?"
"Yes! It's a very nice system. The man here at CompUSA calls it 'the best system right now for education'."
"What is it?"
"A Macintosh Performa 6400/200."
"What? Is it cool looking?"
"You'll have to wait and see!"
Hours pass.
And then: sheer and utter bliss!
A bright, colorful introduction! A lady who walks around the screen, pointing out how to use the operating system! How much cooler can you get?
. . .
Since that day, I've only bought Apple. Work requires Dell. But every night, I look forward to the special moment of relief when I move this optical mouse, and the bliss of Jaguar returns, encasing me in its comfortable glow.

I am using 10.7 build 11A430e and I've had very few issues at all so far but today when turning my MacBook Pro on i was asked to log in, this is normal, the difference was the User field was empty and my avatar missing.
This isn't a password forgotten issue, I know what it is, and I know what my username is, my user details appear to have been wiped!
I logged in as a guest and at system preferences > user groups I can't see my user there either.
Any help greatly appreciated.

I have a new iPhone 4 and I'm still a little lost on using it. My current question is how many different email accounts can I have show up in my mail box?

Crackdown is too "bouncy," if that makes sense. I don't like the over the top jumping and climbing. GTA is more "real."

Wish SwitchEasy had just a case like Colors but made in TPU. Don't like the look of other cases by them.

There's a new Michael Jackson album coming out on the 14th of December called 'Michael', and you can hear the first single of it at this website:

What do you guys think of the song. I personally reckon it's good and I hope the rest of the album is as good.
Edit: Just letting people know that Breaking News has been taken off the website for streaming, however now you can listen to Hold my Hand, a duet with Akon that was leaked a few years ago but sounds a lot better now.

I have a iPod Touch, I believe it is a 3G. I have the App "Talking Tom" which is a cat who repeats whatever you say in a funny voice. The kids use it on their parents iPhone. I want to get a microphone to work with this App. I don't want the one with earplugs. It needs to talk out loud so others can hear it, it is hysterical. So what will work with it?
Thanks Guys, and Gals,

eBay is your best bet, there's still a market for the legacy software. For giggles, what do you have?

You'll just have to wait and see. I assume that since it didn't turn off, it should be okay but the keyboard might not work anymore. But you never know. You'll just have to wait. Let it try out and report what happens!

i'm actually leaving the lab next week that gives all of my points. so time will tell how long all these points will continue to come in. my guess would be at least until the end of the fall semester (december)
which means we need to get some more people folding! :)
