You have a point...and I hope it happens...but Apple may have to change the PowerBook as we know it to add more than just a SuperDrive...I just hope they don't go the way of the current trend in PC laptops. Way Too BIG!
I do realise that the VAIO is thicker than the TiBook, but still the point is that the drive has been shruck now to a size where it can fit into any notebook, it's just a matter of time (or technology) until they have it small enough to fit into the TiBook, and my bet is they allready can do this, it's just when they decide to release it....and in my book a 1Ghz Ti w/ SuperDrive would make an ideal launchpad.

That's the real way to fix the deficit, make churches pay property taxes.

I agree with the general premise.... wash your hands before and after handling anything that is in the public.

So quit fretting, and wash your hands often with ordinary soap and water (that anti-bacterial stuff is actually worse for you). And relax.

i just happened to get 2 of them. i had one preordered and i have a friend that got me one at launch. i saw what they have been going for and i figured might as well and sell or trade one of them. just happened to be in the right place at the right time so i'm going to take advantage of it.

One of the people I know uses a 2.26GHz Core 2 Duo Mac Mini with 4GB of ram, and it's reasonably fast. I'm sure the newer model 2.4GHz will suit your needs just fine, however keep in mind rendering files for say a 25 min long 720p film with 2.1 audio takes about 10 or so minutes on that machine.

Count me in! I'm still thinking about what Apple store to head to though, I usually try to avoid the Fashion Valley one because it's always so crowded there. I'll probably end up a Fashion though. I'll be in line by 3 or 4 depending on how long the line is. :)

I would highly recommend going to the Apple store in Eastlake/Otay Ranch. It's a bit of a drive East if you live downtown, but the Fashion Valley is pure madness.

Hi everyone.
I just bought an iMac 27", 3.1 GHz i5 Quad-Core (the new high end model). However I was wondering if I should take it back now and get an i7 at 3.4 GHz? I just saw the geek-bench score for the i7 and was wondering if it is worth taking it back and paying another 240$ AUD for the i7. I think the i7 is considerably faster but seeing as I am only a student and do not really need the extra power do you think I should bother? It would really only 'future-proof' my machine.
And also are you planing on buying a new iMac? Or are you going to wait for the next generation?

Wondering the same. Trying to decide between Columbia or Annapolis as I have to work most of today... Torn since both of them have Best Buys as backups in the same mall as the Apple store.
