Hopefully the rest if the album sounds like this song, I'll be happy. I'm still buying it, but yeah, the 'This is it' concert would've been the best concert ever. Hopefully he has more unreleased tracks around.

on my G4 450 AGP machine OS X.2.6, every so often - about twice an hour at worst, at least once a day at best the finder - and everything else that is open quits - the screen goes blue for a few seconds then it comes back up.
WHATS THE DEAL? I now save what I'm working on all the time, so I don't ever loose much, but this is a pain.
I've repaired permissions, run MacJanitor, dont the fsck -y thing... all to no avail.
Any thoughts please.

When iTV was announced people were saying it would be contradictory for Apple to put a DVR in it, because they offer TV shows available for download. Now Microsoft offers TV downloads via Xbox 360 and a DVR via Win Media Center, so how come it's not contradictory for MS to do so?
In my opinion Apple needs to offer a dvr of some sorts to compete.

I have a 2008 MBP as well. Also had a logic board failure.
I was able to have it replaced for $300 by the Apple store. It was out of warranty.
From what they told me, you can have anything fixed for the max price of $300. Only took about a week.
Aside from that, I'd hold off on the new MBP. I can easily see the next update doing away with the optical DVD drive for a second hard drive. There are many people currently doing this. The performance gains are astounding.

I've been very pleased with my 15" powerbook... I've had it for 6 months now- and it's been flawless. So much so- that I've convinced 4 of my friends to get Macs :) Unfortunately one of my friends who got an iBook on my suggestion is having big problems all of a sudden. As far as I can tell.. his issues started about the time of the 10.3.8 update.. but I'm not completely sure.
His computer boots up fine, and seems to run fine for a while... but then gets boged down and programs crash left and right... Word crashes... iTunes... Mail...Firefox...etc.. the computer has "rebooted" on it's own several times. Generally not healthy.
I've run the cron jobs... repaired disk permissions... and--cleared the cache with ONYX. I also reran the 10.3.8 upgrade using the 100MB combo download. none of which helped.
I've also tried updating the prebinding in ONYX... but it fails- and gives me this:

I'm the resident computer guy 'round here, but have never had to deal with OSX problems! What else can I do to repair this thing? I'd love to be able to fix this computer problems without a reinstall... that's what I have to do with all the XP machines I work on .. not with OSX! Right? If I boot from the OSX CD can I "repair" the OS instalation? Someone please restore my faith in this wonderful OS!
Thanks-

That is slightly cool.
Now that B&N has Nook Study, it will be interesting to see the iPad and iPhone app. Only then will I think about getting an iPad.

Im planning to upgrade the RAM on my MacBook Pro (mid 2.8Ghz core 2 duo) from 4GB- to 8GB RAM.
Will this RAM-chip fit in my MacBook?
And is Crucial a good brand?

Thanks in advance for any help!

It seems there are never easy answers for my questions.
Yeah there is. Go to BB or OD or Staples or Walmart and get the cheapest switch they have ($20 or less). Plug it into the modem, and then plug both computers into it. I will bet it will work at that point.
If not, then you can always return the switch. My guess is that you have a DSL router without a built-in switch. Again, the actual model # of the router would be very helpful.

A question for you avid music listeners that [like myself] need to have everything near perfect.
How do you guys go about Genre naming some of your music? Do you just give it a name like Alternative and be done or do you name it Alternative Rock, if it's a little heavier Alternative?
The reason I ask is that I've got several [fairly new bands] to my collection and I don't know what to name them.
I also have a hard time genre naming some bands back in the 70's & 80's since there was bands like Supertramp, Billy Joel and then you'd have Rush. I don't consider Supertramp and Rush in the same category so I can't just name it Rock.
Do you do Classic Rock for both The Beatles & The Doors?
Any ideas, or am I thinking too hard about this?
What iTunes desperately lacks is a comprehensive and flexible tagging system with the ability to store multiple genres and/or styles for one song (along with a concept for virtual songs).
Anyway:
Supertramp:
Prog-Rock
Billy Joel:
Soft Rock / Singer-Songwriter
Rush:
Arena Rock
The Beatles:
Early Pop/Rock / British Psychedelic
The Doors:
Proto-Punk
Solved.
I usually create genres based on the styles that bands have listed for them on Allmusic (http://www.allmusic.com/) (e.g. Alternative Folk Pop, Contemporary Jazzpop, Jambands & American Trad Rock, Progressive Minimalism etc.)

Graphics cards options for my 2006 quad 1,1 are confusing especially as im only upgrading for the windows, hope you can help.
Happy with my 7300gt for the mac side for Autodesk Alias/photoshopping etc However I render with Bunkspeed on windows 7 side and looking to upgrade with a decent graphics card for this.
Bunkspeed is 'optimised' to use cuda cores so after an Nvidia ideally.
Could buy a mac 8800gt (512mb) but for 120 I could buy a better 1GB GTX or maybe spend a bit more and buy a low end quadro.
Questions:
Can pci-e 2.0 cards work in a pci-e 1.1 mac pro?
If so any suggestions for which gtx/quadro model i aim to buy (under 250)?
If not what nvidia pci-e 1.1 cards can i buy....?

Eww silicone, I'll pass. Still waiting for the stupid overpriced Incase Slider. I was this close to picking up the Belkin Outfit Ice but there's no rubber rails on the inside
Are you talking about the Griffin Outfit Ice?
Are these silicone cases sticky like regular ones, for example, getting stuck in your pocket.
I would assume so. It's still silicone, generic or not.
