Hi All,
My wife is a dance teacher and asked me to help her out with music for her dance shows. She basically needs to take songs, split them at certain times and then make one song go right into another. I tried to use garageband, but it is really complicated for me. What the best app and way for me to do what I need ?

I'm not sure if anyone remembers it, but I think my favorite RPG game was Vandal Hearts for Playstation. It was a great mix of RPG and Action, and I wish I never sold that game.

Lots of good advice. I will just emphasize two points, and make another.
Compuwar talked about power settings, and mentioned that lights can be too powerful for a space. He's totally right. Figure out where you are going to shooting (in big open spaces vs a small studio. More powerful lights are more appropriate for the big spaces, but can be real handicap in a small space. Also, if you doing small object photography (i.e. jewellery, etc) you may find less powerful lights work better. I started out in big space, and now that I'm in a smaller space I sometimes have to put a ND filter on the more powerful lights (I forget the technical name, but a ND piece of plastic made for the movie industry). I have two models of lights (Photogenics), one being less powerful than the other - which allows some flexibility.
All other things being equal, check around your community. Is there another shooter? Can you see yourself helping each other out on occasion? For instance, you are each shooting in an entirely different field. It may pay to get the same brand of lights as they have. This way you two can borrow lights - and more importantly, light modifiers - back and forth.
One thing that may not be obvious is that while lights can be mixed and matched (especially monoblocs) modifiers can not be (generally). Each brand of light generally has a proprietary mounting system, and the modifiers are matched for that mounting system. You can get different mounting plates, but it's pain. So stick with a one mounting system if you can (though as has been mentioned you can mix mounting systems for some lights if they don't need to be used in different ways.
If you do start borrowing lights with another shooter, have a written agreement in place first. Talk about what is "wear and tear". Who pays for flash-tube that needs replacing in the middle of a shoot etc. It can be done, but figure out all the problems that might happen first.

I have noticed this as well. The controller I got with the console is just a plane grey but the one I bought is a silvery colour.

Anything is possible, depending on how much work you want to put into realizing it. Start by reading the NSWindow doc, paying especial attention to the method -initWithContentRect:styleMask:backing:defer: which, by setting the style mask, lets you create a window with no frame or titlebar. You would then have to add a view to handle the titlebar of your own design (with close/minimize/zoom buttons either taken from the system image set or drawn by your own code). You would have to write simple methods to handle clicks in your custom titlebar and its buttons, and also resizing if you need that.
You will also have to use -setOpaque: to make the entire window frame transparent (your other views will not be affected by this unless you give them a transparent background). If you have open areas in your frame that reveal other windows, you might have to figure out how to pass clicks in those areas through to the underlying windows.

I apologize if this has been asked before but I can't seem to find the answer anywhere.
I would like to add some SMS tones WITHOUT writing over the ones that came with the phone or at least be able to rename them. Also, preferably have them appear under the "New" tones rather than the "Original" ones. I realize that its pretty unnecessary but I'm pretty picky about organization on my phone.
I would also like to change the sound that goes off when I SEND a message. Is that even possible with the iPhone?

Thank You for reading and I hope that I can get some help on this forum. Just to let you know, I have been reading extensivly on my problems and really need some help with the following issues. I will first state the problems as precisely as I can, and then tell you what I have done (if anything), later.
I have a Mac Mini server running 10.6.5 server (.5 updated a few weeks ago). This server is running AFP, DNS, Open Directory, Print and SMB. It is also running VMWare, and a CRM called ACT!. This vmware is on bridged mode, because it does share it's ACT! database with the other PC's on the network. This is necessary in our work environment, as the clients are PC's. We also have a Airport Extreme router running NAT and Port Forwarding for external management and it is on bridged mode (b/c of Verizon). All the PC's are running Windows XP Professional. All is wireless.
1. My largest problem is that the PC's are flaky when it comes to binding to my OD Master server. Just to let you know, DNS resolutions are working. On top of this, the OD Master seems to be replicating to the vmware ip addresses. I think this may be a source of the problem and I have gone into WGM and removed ALL instances of the ip addresses. I have restarted and still found it to be replicating to those numbers. Can any of you help me remove this problem, as I think this is a root to the issue.
2. My screen sharing no longer works. It is enabled in system preferences but it won't work in/out house. No clue why.
3. I cannot wire my server to the router, but I can wire the clients to the router. Would this help or not?
I have been calling Apple like no tomorrow, but little help has come my way. I have destroyed and rebuilt this OD server several times. There are no replicas (due to the size of the infrastructure). I would like to setup a simple OD server where users from PC's can authenticate and mount their respective folders to edit. If any of you are familiar with VMWare, is there a way to circumvent/destroy those interfaces vmnet1 and vmnet8 without losing access to the internet? My client is dependent on VMWare to work as ACT! stores her entire business career. I am a fast responder and desperately in need of answers!

First thing. No the superdrive is a CD/DVD drive. It's not a hard drive. Unless you want to store your video on a DVD or something then yes you could burn it to a disk with the superdrive.
As for wanting to watch it. You can watch it on your Air (Just double click the file) or you can actually hook your Air up to your TV (Probably). You will need an HDTV with an HDMI in a VGA in or a DVI in then a display port to HDMI or VGA or DVI. You could also get an Apple TV but you can only watch it in 720 instead of 1080 (1280 x 720, and 1920 x 1080). This sounds like a big deal but it really isn't. Apply TV is 100 dollars so that might be too much. You can burn it to a DVD and then watch it in your DVD player but that won't be HD. If you got a blu ray burner and you have a blu ray player you could burn it to blu ray but this is expensive, both as the cost of blu ray disks is quite high and the cost and complication of getting a blu ray burner.

I recently sold my g4 ibook 800mhz with an airport card 250gb hard drive new keyboard and 1.12gb of ram for 300. I made 50 bucks on the deal cuz it only cost me 250 for the ibook and the upgrades. Id say it was worth 300 but no more than that. Last night i bought a mid 2009 macbook for 420 with applecare til 8-12. I feel i got a deal given the average macbook price on craigslist is 600-700 here in detroit. What im saying is for every person trying to charge a premium theres someone desperate selling to the first person that makes an offer. Everyone else falls in between. Those of us who know better pay what an item is worth while the rest pay the premium. Unfortunately theres more of them than there is of us.

I found a huge box filled with Macintosh books. I'm putting them up for sale or trade if anyone wants them. They are $5 for any book or guide on the page, some include floppy disks. Most of the books are small, some are a little bigger than an inch thick. I have no more room for these so ether I sell them here or toss them out.

Hey all,
so I'm having a very frustrating time with Xcode 4 right now. When I try to run my program, it builds and launches the program, then I get the spinning beach ball in Xcode, but my program is running in the dock and I can go to it. However, Xcode needs to be force quit and relaunched. This doesn't happen all the time, but it happens in spurts, where it will be fine for a few runs, than it will crash every time for a few runs, and so on. It is very annoying.
Anyone else having similar problems, or know of ways to fix it? I have submitted my crash reports to Apple.

Can someone please explain to me how to theme my music player on my vzw ip4? i have installed themes, moved them to the top, toggled summerboard, and still my music player wont theme. im getting really frustrated with this please help.

Get the iMac... it's a better bang for your buck. You get a wireless Keyboard, mouse and monitor... not to mention the latest processor (mac mini is still on C2D), a higher end video card (compared to the 320m) and it's just plain sexy. It's a better investment in the long run.
