Holy ****, you spent a LOT of paint on that!
Any way, I liked the suggestion! In Brazil, a picture of that size would cost me something like 500 dollars, believe or not. High quality, but still expensive.
Anyway, I am still looking forward new setup suggestions! I am writting down all of them. After 1 week I will make a BIG change in my bedroom based on opinions in this thread.

I actually wound up using a DVD drive and installing 10.2.5 it worked fine. I think maybe my 10.1 disc is flaky
Thanks again! :D

Hello Guys,
What's the best way of taking audio from a DVD.
I have numerous DVD's of bands playing concerts and would to have the sound on CD (car journeys) and in to iTunes.
The simpler the better :)

I notcied after having it for only a few days that there are two small scratches on the screen of my iPad, I've been extremely careful with it, its either in its case or in my hands so this is rather annoying. Does anyone know of any handy way to repair them?
As a general rule you cant really polish scratches out of glass especially if you can feel them with your fingernail (it is a lot of hard work and often causes distortion in the glass) plus I believe the iPad has an olyophobic (spelling) coating that you will rub off if you try to polish it
I would just live with it :)
p.s. I have been in the glass trade for over 13 years

For those of you using the SMP client, are you finding that you have to run pretty much 24/7 in order to make the work unit deadlines?

I've got a 2010 Macbook Pro 13" and I'm attempting to dual boot with Windows 7 64-bit Home Premium on a 250gb partition. The problem is, I can't get it to install. Evey time it hangs on the "Completing Installation" phase after the reboot and from what I can tell, everything but the CPU fan stops. I've looked around and tried everything.
If I press shift+F10 during that and type 'explorer.exe' (this was a recommended fix), it brings up a box that displays "setting up personalized settings for windows desktop updates."
I have tried taking out RAM until I have 2gb left, doesn't help. I don't have anything other than the power cable connected. Does anybody have any ideas? Thanks.

My iMac arrived today. It seems to be in the condition described (to be honest, haven't hooked it up yet, but it looks good) and was well-packed.
It was shipped on the 2nd, which doesn't gibe with our email exchanges, but perhaps that was because of the shipping mishap that Chad said occurred, so I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt on that.
While the deal didn't go exactly smoothly, I suspect it was more because Chad got very busy and didn't follow-up on things rather than any attempt to deceive me.
In the end everything has been resolved and I would recommend Chad as a MR Marketplace seller.

+1 I fix windows desktops and servers for a living and sometimes I look at things and wonder where Microsofts head is sometimes. Not to mention Windows is missing features that have been in other OSs for ages (multiple desktops, native ISO support (and NO windows 7 does not have full read/write native ISO support, I hear that argument all the time))

wrong.
You can be tethered jailbroken and power down and back up without the jailbreak. You just can't have any apps installed like SBSettings. If you simply jailbreak your iPad tethered and power it down, it will come back online without the need for a computer. You will just not be jailbroken, so to rejailbreak, you need a computer to tether jailbreak it again.
Depends on the jailbreak. There was a tethered JB, back in the days of 2.x, I think, where you couldn't boot up at all without tethering. Then there was another one later on where you could boot up and have all the normal functions working but not the JB ones. Then there is the latest tethered jailbreak I tried, where once you installed Cydia, Safari stopped working unless you booted tethered. I've lost track of them all, but I just remember enough to say that you can't say tethered JB does this or that, you have to say tethered JB using X method on firmware y.y does this or that.

Check out Craigslist. At least in my area, there's always a couple for sale. The G4s are getting pretty reasonable these days.

I'm having trouble deciding between a higher end 15-inch MBP or an 11" MBA with a gaming PC.
If I were to go with the combo, would an iBUYPOWER Gamer Power 567D3 in the 500 dollar price range be a good desktop for present and future gaming, or would the CyberpowerPC Gamer Ultra 2057's specs provide future proofing as well as justify the ~$900 price? (mainly the HD 5570 vs the 5770 and 4GB vs 8GB RAM)
If there are any other gaming PC's you have used, feel free to tell me what the best ones are!
By the looks of it, those are some ridiculously weak GPU's when compared to current generation GPU's in the MBP (AMD HD 6000 series opposed to ATI HD 5000 series)
I recommend 15" high end w/ hi-res screen, if you can afford it.
None of the specs justify either desktop's price. Here's the specs for the PC listed below that you can build yourself:
Intel Core i5-2500K Quad Core 3.3Ghz, 8GB RAM, nVidia GTX 560, Blu-ray capable, 1TB Hard Drive, $1100. Shoots both of those PCs out of the water blindfolded.
If not, get the 11" MBA. DO NOT GET A PREMADE gaming PC. Build one yourself, it's often cheaper. Here's a list of items to get you started:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811147108 Rosewill case
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130573 MSI mobo
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115072 Intel i5-2500K. Don't get the i7-2600K, not much improvement for $100.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136533 WD Caviar Black 1TB 7200RPM 6Gbps
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130610 nVidia GTX 560 Ti Fermi GPU
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817371015 650W PSU
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820226095 8GB DDR3-1600 RAM
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827106326 Blu-ray drive
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103065 Heatsink & Fan
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835100007 Arctic Silver 5 CPU thermal grease, for use with heatsink
Total cost w/ rebate @ Newegg discounts: $1100-1200. I know it's not cheap, but that's much cheaper for a machine of that caliber, which usually go for $2000-2500. If you want it cheaper, go with a weaker GPU (Such as the GTX 550) or get a DVD drive.
