So i ran a port checking tool and these are the results. I expected port 80 to be closed because I disabled the web service however mail is on and smtp is enabled with ssl and yet 587 continues to be closed as if nothing were listening on that port.

radiation is not like a virus, it's not infective and the signal gets diluted at each passage through a host.
yes, there will be some radiation passed through animal that ate radioactive material or that flew/swam/walked/crawled through contaminated areas, but the damage would mostly be to said animals, not whatever later comes in contact with it.
that said, eating produce or animal from that area is certainly a bad idea.

From Apple's new site:
"Source code for the kernel of Mac OS X 10.4.7 for Intel are now available. Several changes were made in order to publish the kernel (xnu) sources. As a result, the kernel built from these sources differs from the one found in the 10.4.7 software update. In order to accommodate these changes, several kernel extensions were also modified and must be downloaded and installed in order to run a kernel built from these sources on Mac OS X 10.4.7 for Intel."
So they haven't released the version of the kernel that is 10.4.7 as open source, they've just released something very closely resembling it, with no public comment about what's different, near as I can tell so far.
It probably regards whatever DRM setup Apple has with its Intel CPUs...

I suspect most of you aren't old enough to have been driving cars in the 1970's. The 55 mph national speed limit. The general consensus that it was just wrong. And the civil disobedience that sprang from that. It was the nearly complete disregard for that limit that led to it being changed. Once a law or regulation becomes so extreme that it leaves rationality behind, people start to ignore it or find ways to avoid it. I would argue that 9.5% sales tax is having that same effect. Especially when you consider it is on top of Federal income tax. And state. And local. And Social Security. And Medicare. And health care.
"Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle! Power concedes nothing without a demand. It never did, and it never will.
Find out just what people will submit to, and you have found out the exact amount of injustice and wrong which will be imposed upon them; and these will continue until they are resisted with either words or blows, or with both. The limits of tyrants are prescribed by the endurance of those whom they oppress." - Frederick Douglass
What you fail to point out is that brick-and mortar merchants such as the ones in your community that help offset your local real estate taxes don't have the option of not charging sales tax. So, the online merchants have an unfair advantage, which reduces brick-and-mortar sales, which reduces the amount of local taxes collected from those brick-and-mortar stores, which results in your residential real estate taxes increasing.
I realize you'll likely counter by saying that government should just cut its expenses, but that doesn't address the matter that permitting one class of merchant to avoid a sales tax especially with large-ticket items such as $2,000 computers but not others creates an unfair market.
Don't get me wrong I love the convenience of online shopping and I love saving money, but mercantile tax rates should be applied equally.

What a complete load of festering worthless crap.
I'd love to see the methodology of this 'poll'.
You mean which pubs they went to to do the poll? Or how many women actually took the poll? :D Or how much they had to drink at the pubs looking for women while taking the poll :p

From his posting history, I get the impression that the OP will respond with some degree of restrained celebration when Steve Jobs buys the farm.

I think that you might be able to downgrade to iMovie HD if you want the effects. Look up iMovie HD download and see if you can get a link. Apple used to have it posted, but I think they took down the official one a couple of years ago.

Many countries have download limits, like here in Australia. Definitely not updating to this version, I have to wait till i get closer to the end of the month before I can consider downloading it.

Well in the end its likely that its going to be internal security, print server, user management and hdcp server and backup.
no more then 5 users logged in at once.
SATA should be fine for that few users.
If by that you mean pissing off everybody than yes, Oracle is very good at that. If you mean decent jobs on software...that is highly debatable (OpenOffice.org, Linux, Solaris, OpenSolaris, btrfs, zfs, etc.).
In the case of Oracle VM software for storage (meant to be used with Sun's storage appliances), it works when configured properly (the hard part :p).

Thanks dr_lha, that works great. I too was disappointed the e-pl1 was not covered in the latest update. It seems crazy, given how popular this camera is and how little work would presumably need doing to make it compatible.

I am using the Apple bluetooh wireless keyboard for my TiPB with D-Link USB bluetooth adaptor. It works like a regular keyboard (no latency whatsoever and I can wake up TiPB by touching any key on the bluetooth keyboard). I am using MX 1000 Laser mouse by Logitech for Al PB. That mouse is egornomically shaped and has nice feel to your grip. Many features to boot, as well (smooth scroll wheel, another set of scrolling buttons, side scrolling, and forward/backward for web browser, which I have not yet to work out maybe because I have not installed the CD which came with MX 1000 on my Al PB). I also have Logitech Cordless Optical Mouse for my HP Pavilion. That cordless mouse works like a champ (very accurate tracking and long battery life; it is still going for more than 2 months now; I keep this HP almost always on).

Totally agree with previous posts - I switched in March with no problems.
MacRumors archive is good value, as is macosxhints and Macmentor.
Also, after you become more confident, check out this thread ...

Same problem here. From what I found out it is known that the 360 is not currently compatible with the Aiport Extreme. They said they may address it in a future patch. I'd like to know how to get that without connectivity though.

I've been avoiding the 10.6.4 update. This is just another reason.
It sure would be nice to get the security improvements without all of the other drama.

Shoot, virtually nothing that's discussed here has anything to do with need... this is all about want. ;)
But I congratulate you on your willpower to hold out for the big display. Giving up a small want if it helps you with a big want is always OK.

The M0116 should have the same tactile feedback as the original Apple Extended Keyboard (released in '87 with the SE and II), although be careful here, as the Extended Keyboard II was released in 1990, and those keys are a little softer (and quieter).
And I'm with you - I consider the late 80s Apple keyboards to have the best feel, although they are a little loud by today's standards.

I guess the question is what would they get out of it, maybe google but apple gets nothing out of it the information would not be that valuable to apple and the pr is a nightmare. that is not to say that they may not be doing something that of course we know but considering the fanfare around apple products its not like any of this will not be found out after some time.
to me this I think is going to be taken care in the next revision but it is nice to know there are people out there keeping an eye for stuff like this. :)

Yeah, he was a little too hipster for me. Hat, thick black rim glasses, beard and scarf. In the words of Mitch Hedberg, '[He's] got a lot of cranium accessories...'
I knew someone was going to say that. To me I can't understand the whole hipster thing; must just be me.
Well Leo and Josh are obviously fans of Apple so it would make sense.
Not really. I would say Leo is a lot more balanced and neutral, when it comes to reviews and reporting the news. He is a big fan of Android, for example.
