They sucked then. They suck now. Nothings changed. What bugs me is the fact that they play this **** on a rock station here. Go figure. That crap isn't rock.

I'm glad we could help. Please stay and enjoy the forums. :)I am very much so. I have a lot to learn, infact I have one immediate question:
I would like to store some of my video clips externally, I was looking at the Superdrive, is that the right choice?
I would like to play them back in HD, either on my Macbook or on the TV, what would be the recommendation?
Thanks much. :)

God peoples, the font size was 99% of the size it was supposed to be. But when you're right your right. The fonts do look much sharper now. I think I must have been staring at the theme too long to notice anymore. :p
(The theme has been updated, but the info on the page doesn't reflect the changes yet.)
Thank you! :D I no longer have a complaint, well actually... :p

Oblivion is great in that sense, your character has a lot of freedom in what he can do, you can find quests everywhere you go, it really is open ended and feels like a MMORPG.
The graphics are really nice (though the faces are very poorly modeled).
The only thing not as open ended is the combat, gear and leveling system, it only lets you go one way and scales everything to your level, meaning if you are a level 1, you'll never find an uber monster like a daedroth or anything, that really sucks, also, you'll never get any gear thats better than what you have, this makes the game very dull in the sense that you either get light armor or heavy armor (both end up being the same actually) and it will ALWAYS be the same for each level.
Oblivion's Oscuro Overhaul fixes a lot of stuff about this and in my opinion its a mod you really should start playing with from the beggining, Bethesda really bombed the leveling, skill and gear system.
That being said, I didn't particularly liked the game (then again, I seem to hate good games, I was so unimpressed by God of War and IGN wants to have their baby practically) but I thought it was ok, in any case it still managed to suck 70 hours out of my life :)
I do recommend it but on PC, with a few mods AND Oblivion Oscuro Overhaul, this last one I separate it from mods because its essential to the Oblivion experience.
I haven't tried Shivering Isles but I heard it introduces at least one good character (Sheogorath), Oblivion doesn't have any memorable characters (they are all dull, boring and in some cases rather annoying) or any interesting story plot lines, Oblivion has the story and character development of minesweeper at best. This is not an RPG, more like an open ended adventure game.
In any case to answer your question, yes, Oblivion is as open ended as you think.

I found a nice page reloading bookmarklet. I imagine it works in Firefox and Camino; I've only used it in Safari.
http://www.subsimple.com/bookmarklets/collection_navigation.asp
Called "Continuous Reload". Just drag to your bookmarks bar, and then click when you want a page refreshed automatically. It asks for a number of seconds to reload.
Great for Engadget or Gizmodo which don't automatically reload. Don't use with MacRumor's page; MRLive automatically refreshes.

Is this a sign of the market being over-saturated with independent and small firms that are eager for exit strategies? No, it's a sign of a healthy market with big companies eager to suck up additional properties/talent, and small companies looking to cash in on the opportunity.
In the end, the goal of any small company is to be purchased. No, it's not.
That's the goal of a LOT of small companies, and such a move does indeed have the potential to give good creative people a big wad of cash in exchange for their previous built-up goodwill, which they can either retire happily on or parlay into something new and bigger.
There are, however, also small companies that are quite happy being exactly what they are, and to which the existing fanbase/goodwill/good name/intellectual property is worth more than any sellout agreement to the people running them.
You could argue that such companies aren't really businesses but hobbies or art factories, but from an external perspective they're both "companies" and there's no way to tell the difference until a bid comes in. To some people their company name is their own, and they just aren't willing to sell it.
There's nothing wrong with either model, but it's silly to suggest that one doesn't exist just because it's less common or a "bad" business decision.

Blu-Ray + MPEG2 HD, looks like vomit!!! ;)
<]=)
HAHAHA. oh man, i don't even know what you are talking about. MPEG2 isn't the reason a BD looks bad or not, but good try.

Is the old website still on your Mac? Does it appear in the sidebar of iWeb when you open it? If so, create your new site and just drag and drop the old pages into the new site.
Your link doesn't work.

If it used your iPhone/iPad memory for buffering the converted video and didn't upload it to some server in the states, it might be less of a compromise.
What's the point in an .flv to HTML5/H.264 converter if it works any other way?
The first page of UK reviews on the iTunes store say it all but just the concept of it being server side to start with puts me off, the ads when it's a paid for app are another thing that's not exactly tempting me into trying it.

I think the chances of it working are good enough that I'd bite the bullet and buy an '040.
Of course, it doesn't take much to convince me to buy additional hardware. ;)

I purchased a Moshi Mini DP to HDMI adapter from the online Apple store, and it arrived today. Upon opening and plugging in the HDMI, the adapter made a small crack and literally fell apart.
Would I be able to take this in for an exchange at the store?

1) Accuracy of rumors based on previous performance is usually mentioned in the news item. Very few credible rumors come from the forums.
2) Why should one opinion be "weighted" more than another? It's an opinion.
3/4) What good reason do you have for doing this? Various rating and reputation systems have been suggested multiple times. They don't add anything of value to the site other than turning things into a popularity contest.
It would be a very fun way expand the website and has the following benefits:
1) Rewards users with a metric recognized in the community based upon their accuracy on past rumors.
2) Lends weight to opinions within a discussion.
3) Based completely on users opting-in - no one is required to vote to participate in a discussion or put their reputation on the line.
4) Can be used with the system of site contributors, potentially allowing them to reset negative popularity (plus/minus) or reset their points (bidding system) each year.
