It takes the system a few hours to update to your new access abilities, so no need to worry.

i don't mean the mobile alerts that you can set up on twitters website. ever since the new update to the twitter app, i get an sms when i mentioned, even if it's from someone who i don't receive mobile updates for.

i'm assuming this has to do with this update because it didn't happen before...

If they didn't care about your mother, they wouldn't sell a family pack.

Yeah, the guy at the Apple Store mentioned that :-)

Technically, they do (or did) want you buy another CD. It's only $29 so it's not a like cheapest version of Windows which is $199.

I will admit that my position is probably wrong but for my mother, I'd just do it if it worked. I have a hard time believing that Apple really cares.

    Odd song.

But it misses highlights that Canadians lost the most soldiers during WWI or was it WWII.

multicultural is how I live; sure I know my heritage but I don't discriminate and love to learn about other cultures as we all live in the Human Race.

    resolved.

Don't fool with a tethered jailbreak EVER... unless you're just testing out stability, apps, or you plan on being in front your laptop 24 hours a day...

    that's the only drawback!!

This I am not sure ... Why would somebody needs to be in front of a laptop if JB is tethered? It just means you need to hook back up and JB all over again if you reboot ipad..... Please do correct me if this is my misunderstanding as I have never JB tethered version either.

Having owened ipad 2 for past 16 days or so, I never need to reboot.

My dad brought home a G4 iMac today. I'm currently obtaining the *ehem* DVD, if you know what I mean... I sold my Leopard disk last year (desperate times - iPhone 4 launch ) for a pretty penny not thinking I'd end up with so many PPCs a year later.

Is there anyway I could load this DVD on a USB drive and put it in target mode and install it wirelessly like if it were the DVD? I do have DVD disks, but they're single layer and I know you can't boot a PPC off USB drives.

I assumed he doesn't like Starbucks and so chose them to be the butt of his joke. No idea what kind of reputation Starbucks has, but isn't it kind of coffee McDonaldization?
I wondered whether Starbucks being from Seattle was the choice there. Yet another Californian dig at Washington state ;)

The MS isn't bad now, I saw a 4GB Duo for $69.99 and 2GB ones are always under $75. I have a 1GB one and it has enough room for 3 south park episodes, a movie, and some MP3's.

If they do a PSP Lite, i'm the first one at the store.

MS not bad now? Bro, the last time i checked the price of the 2GB sandisk (about a year ago), it had just been barely released - mostly available on special order - and was over $200. Now the 4gb is available for about a third of what the 2gb was selling for. About 1.5 years ago I paid $100 for a one GB stick and about $200 for a 4gb datel PSP HDD with double capacity battery. Now I'm glad I sold it in time to recoup more than half the cost before the sticks came down.

Although I sold my PSP about a year ago (my original ad is still in the MR archive), i wouldn't definitely be second in line behind you to pick up a PSP lite. A somewhat brighter and sharper screen with somewhat better pixel response and better battery life would be killer, even if the unit as a whole were not *much* smaller and/or lighter. Dual analog nubs would be nice, but the one non-game feature that would be a deal clincher for me would be the ability to play back H.264 video in the *full* resolution supported by the hardware - not the crippled 320x240 supported by Sony the last time I owned the PSP. They crippled playback of user imported video mainly for copyright reasons and to sell more UMD videos which looked and sounded far better than videos compressed using iPsp, PSPware,Video 9, etc. This wasn't due to memory stick limitations, as i eventually learned how to 'dump' truncated UMD videos to MS (and whole movies to the Datel 4gb HDD) and play them back using freeware homebrew apps, but those files took up to 1.8GB of space each and the player app was really too buggy and barebones to reliable for on-the-go viewing. Anyway, the movies I wanted to watch weren't released on UMD anyway...

I'm going on holiday next month and both my handhelds batteries die after a couple of hours of gaming. I've bought replacement iPod batteries before and they're always terrible knock-offs, and from what I've seen it's a similar situation with the DS and PSP. Amazon is full of them with fake reviews giving them perfect scores, so they're a no-go!

So who do you trust? I'd rather not buy a new DS or PSP since their respective successors could be out this year.

This is a youtube video featuring Yamaha presenter Bert Smorenburg playing the brand new MoX. Here, he displays the possibility of using the synthesizer with a VST plugin played by his mac book while simultaneously playing back a melody from the same computer.

I was wondering which mac book this is in the video. It is all white - could this be the white 13" MacBook? It is a low-specced machine, I can't believe it is capable of providing such a low latency.

Forgive me if my question and observation looks stupid. I've never tried VST on any of my computers. Now that I got an iMac I could try it.

    Regards,

    Troll

What more can I say? It has a lot of stuff (http://www.apple.com/au/imac/features.html). With the addition of Thunderbolt, even the professionals are saying it looks like a viable FCP cutter for most of their work.

Big screen, SDXC card reader, FW800, Thunderbolt, SSD option, decent video card with 2GB RAM ... it's all there.

It should be noted that there is an option to get a magic mouse or a magic trackpad for no price difference when purchasing a new iMac. Previously, the mouse was included and the trackpad was an extra.

I'm letting it sit for another 8 hours - to make it a full 3 days. I'll be sure to update when I get the courage to turn it on in the morning! (it's midnight here fyi)
