Nice machine, and great work! I love that it's paired with the original Imagewriter.

Are you using the Firewire cable? The USB cable should sync it, but it will not charge. It's possible it's flaking because of this, but if you're using the FW cable, I have no idea.

i replied that question in another thread you asked yesterday (i think). its the i7 imac :)
client? umm when i open the console it says Version 6.29r1. does that help?
oh ok. well if you use the console client, what command are you using?
here's what i would do - first, run ./fah6 -configonly and configure the client.
next, if you don't want to use all cores, you can run ./fah6 -smp 6 -advmethods -verbosity 9 - local
if you do decide to use all cores, you can use -bigadv instead of -advmethods
but let us know if you decide to do that. we'd love to see how well that i7 iMac does

Got here earlier than I thought. Line is back to Anthropologie for those who know the mall. Wild guess of 150+ I'd say.

How many Intel Macs in public release? None.
How many PPC Macs installed across the globe. Millions.
Do you honestly think that software suppliers are going to ignore that market?
By the time PPC software is obsolete, your new G5 will be too.

There have been a couple of times now when I have noticed a page has been spammed with junk (and invisible) links. I notice when HexMonkey and Arn find something similar and they fix it, it shows up in the history/recent changes as '(Reverted edit of 123.123.123.123, changed back to last version by HexMonkey)' - Is there a button I'm missing that allows me to do the same or is it a moderator only function?
At present I'm just manually deleting the unwanted content and leaving a quick note (e.g "deleted spam").

I wonder how they got to that screen on the Verizon iPhone? I can't find it anywhere on mine. Not that it is a huge deal, just wondered how they got to that screen?

Outstanding link! For the OP you can also just look up a restaurant, then save it as a google map. Later you can go back and edit the name to a generic name like Japanese Restaurants, and add more maps to it. The drawback is that each map would be separate. Having all the maps appear on a single map as described in the link would be superior.

I think a PDA is a much better idea than a phone. I'm happy with my sprint PCS cellular, and I'm not happy with my Palm Pilot. If Apple does come out with a PDA, it had better have a lite version of OS X, and not run the stupid Palm OS software.

very interested in some parts as I just purchased a 17" with some bad parts.
How's the battery?
I also need ram if it's 2gb and possibly a superdrive, but I already have a superdrive coming that might work so that's low priority right now.

When I received my iPod Touch second generation for Christmas in 2008 I was excited, but then iOS 3.0 came along and I upgraded. I loved voice control but then I updated to iOS 4.2.1 and the feature was gone. Is there a way I can get voice control again. Addition information: I was jailbreaked using readsnow.

When my second memory stick wasn't recognized, my iBook booted OS X Server 10.2 with only 64megs of RAM :D it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.
But YES, you should max out the RAM.

I've used a lot of routers over the years, and the WRT54G is the best I've come across. Linksys (imo) have the best looking ones (apart from Apple of course) and the best interface.
The WRT54G also has a fairly big selection of 3rd party firmware for it, the best of which is, in my opinion, Wifi-Box's releases.
This (http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/wifi-box/wfb_2.02.2.6-tp.zip?download) is the firmware that I've been using since it was released, and it's been 100% stable on me. It adds quite a few new features, one of which lets you change the transmit power.
By default, it's at 25% this lets you go all the way up to 100% However, it's recommended not to go over 50% unless you open the router up and add a fan, as it starts to overheat.

i agree with you here, but for me, 667 to 1+ghz would be quite a jump. nearly 100% speed increase. and yes, speed is not such an issue when opening a program, but doing high ends graphics work requires power.
the ti book is not for consumers who only surf and email. it is for pros who make a living with their ti book, their tool.

These are great replies. Thanks to everyone who gave their thoughts. And a big thanks to r0k for your long and detailed experience. This was the concern I had and I really appreciate you takin the time to warn me.
Also, thanks for telling me about the timemachineditor.app. I definitely would like to reduce my backup frequency.

I agree with Obrien. Do you really need two mac's at 13? I have used my iBook for about 2 years+ now and it has never had any problems being carried around. It is a wonderful system and strong too.
Also, you can not use the education discount to get money off the computer. A poster above suggested it - and it is a great idea - however, it is only to college students right now. This is a fairly recent update to their store.
I hope this helps.
