Hey, I have been looking at doing some high-end video work in the future and the person I work with uses SDXC cards in his cameras. Is there support for them in my MacBook? I want to make sure before I say I can help, and then embarrassed for not know what's up with my own laptop.
I own a late 2010 i7 MacBook Pro
Cheers!

Any chance you're using CS5?
It now has a great Perspective Grid (http://help.adobe.com/en_US/illustrator/cs/using/WSfd7453be0f56bba4-4bd07ab712480a35d44-8000.html)

Came across this video someone took right outside the Apple Store in Tokyo. Not really much to see but thought I'd pass it along:

Yes, as you said, not much to see. Did they evacuate the store?

Be careful when you buy those prebuilt "gaming" desktops from ibuypower or other similar sites. They often put really awful video cards in them and you'll end up really disappointed. Just build one yourself

I may just install ver 3.1 again on my phone. I've always used boxcar to let me know when I had a mention and DMs anyway.

On the topic of Apple Store from 1997, does anyone have archives of old on-line www.apple.com from the years 1999-2004? I am interested in seeing those PowerPC ads from the last 10 years.. I know there is an archive of older www.apple.com websites showing the PowerMacs, PowerBooks, etc..
Check out wayback machine (http://waybackmachine.org/*/http://apple.com).
+1... you can use the same site in the original post and mess around with it for any URL you want. It's pretty cool. By same site I mean waybackmachine.

I'm taking a dreaded Document Formatting class for college and what I thought would be the easiest A of my life has become a nightmare. I never realized that Word 2007 for PC was so different from my 2008 version for the Mac.
Here's what I need to do.
Change the line spacing to 1.15. NOT 1.5 which is an option on my Mac. Apparently Word 2007 has this new spacing for it's default and I keep bombing each assignment cause I didn't notice the difference. I REFUSE TO GO TO CAMPUS AND USE THEIR PC's. I will not admit defeat, but I will ask for your help.
HELP!

I am trying to reinstall OS X on my old 2006 MacBook core 2 duo. I have a leopard install disk and a tiger install disk.
On boot up, i get the chime and then it spits the disk right out.
I have made USB images of both to try to install and when I Hold down the option Key, i get the mouse cursor to come up over the white screen but the usb drive does not load into the boot-able options.
any ideas on what i can do?
What i have to help are a

Anything is possible, depending on how much work you want to put into realizing it. Start by reading the NSWindow doc, paying especial attention to the method -initWithContentRect:styleMask:backing:defer: which, by setting the style mask, lets you create a window with no frame or titlebar. You would then have to add a view to handle the titlebar of your own design (with close/minimize/zoom buttons either taken from the system image set or drawn by your own code). You would have to write simple methods to handle clicks in your custom titlebar and its buttons, and also resizing if you need that.
You will also have to use -setOpaque: to make the entire window frame transparent (your other views will not be affected by this unless you give them a transparent background). If you have open areas in your frame that reveal other windows, you might have to figure out how to pass clicks in those areas through to the underlying windows.

I hear that... If they change the PowerBook, change it to something new, but equally as stunning as the TiBook...which, regardless of popular belief, is STILL the best designed laptop with the iBook a close second.

From what I understand, you can make your own phone, so long as you don't sell it. I mean, if you have the means to make a mean phone (wow, haha), then I believe you can do it.
Not without notifying the FCC. You can't transmit anything on a licensed frequency without .... a license. There are plenty of devices that work in unlicensed bands, i.e. where you don't need a license, like most cordless phones or WiFi, but these still need to be tested before sale to make sure they don't interfere with things outside the band even if it's not a radio. Look for the FCC Class B logo on the back of your iPod and LOTS of other devices...

Week 1: Read Python; familiarize self with scripting language semantics/syntax
Week 2-4: Learn PHP; obviously begin with what you learned from Python and build from there. Start to look at object-oriented PHP materials.
Week 5: Begin SQL query writing; queries aren't so difficult if you know your PHP material well. The better at coding you are, the better your query writing will be.
Eventually, you'll want to get into content management systems and MVC frameworks - this, outside of object oriented programming, is the biggest mountain to climb, but it is well worth it in the long run as all of your hard work will pay off. These two things will take a long time to learn so don't fret if you don't understand it all from the very beginning.
Also, like someone else said, make sure your design is consistent across different browsers. Since you are learning, you're probably looking at a lot of divs and what not. Divs are nifty, but browsers don't agree with them 90% of the time. This means grabbing a copy of Windows, downloading Internet Explorer 6, 7, 8, and 9 to make sure everything looks correct. This is one of every designer/developers biggest complaints and why Internet Explorer is hated beyond words.
wtf is Python? Sorry, but I had never heard of it until now. Stick with the basics and what's most commonly used. Maybe I've been out of the game a couple years but I would learn Ajax before I learned python.

My girl used to use a Candyshell (the light blue and pink one). Now she has a pink and white Otterbox Defender and she couldn't be happier which actually shocked me.
Generally, the ladies don't seem care about the actual style of the case or even it's functionality. The seem to only care about the color. Granted that is a blanket statement and doesn't apply to the entire gender but the past couple of girlfriends I've had have had this same attitude towards their phones.
That does not apply to geek girls :D.
For me function first and then style.
My current favorites and why:
1) SWitcheasy Vulcan Smoke. The slimmest full port covering case.
2) Casemate Hula black. Shows off my Luckylabs stickers and the phone looks almost naked while still having some lay on table.
3) Otterbox Commuter. One of the thinnest fully protective cases, plus pink and white is sexy!
4) Waterfileds pouch (sfbags): To keep the cased phone from getting scratched with all the crap in the pocket/purse.

Has anyone else seen this today? The I opened the facebook app on my iphone today and was greeted with a spotlight over the messages icon and it stated - Now you can get your email, messages and chat all in one place! and the options in the messaging app changes to look like this. The options and the prompt did not appear today on my wife's iphone. Strange.. (image attached)
Chris
Chris, i think you're reffering to facebooks' new messaging system. One you've been 'invited' or it has rolled out, your messages becomes 'unified'. Chat, email and messaging in 'one-window'. if you log into facebook messages via a desktop, you should have the option to invite someone i.e. your wife. It takes a while though.
