I've had this iMac for a couple of months and it's in great shape.
I'm making room for a new machine so I thought I would see what
I could get for this one. I'm looking to get around $1000.00 shipped
in the US. (negotiable of course)
I don't do PayPal, only money orders or cashiers checks. I'm okay if you are
with a personal check as long as you don't mind waiting an extra business day
for the check to clear before I ship. As I've mentioned before in other posts,
I've sold many things here to satisfied customers.
24-inch widescreen display
4GB memory (I know, it can only use 3.3 worth)
250GB hard drive
8x SuperDrive (DVD+R DL/DVDRW/CD-RW)
NVIDIA GeForce 7300GT with 128MB GDDR3 memory
Built-in iSight camera
Original discs including the drop in Leopard disc

Thing is, it shows the video is buffered at least 10 mins or so ahead of where I am at.

The past few months, wireless wake on lan worked perfectly. I used to wake up my iMac with the Remote app on my iPhone to play music on my stereo.
However, since 2-3 weeks I can't wake up my iMac wireless anymore. I tried:
- restarting my Airport Extreme
- checked the things described on this page: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3774
- turn on iTunes library sharing
But this all doesn't seem to help. Am I overlooking something?
Could it have something to do with a recent software update (iTunes, Remote, ...)?

To be fair (not that I am disagreeing with you), the truck driver might not have been fully aware of what happened, since it was happening behind him at freeway speed (60 mph is 88 feet per second, so things behind you recede rather quickly). We do not know how close the vehicles came to each other or whether their was even contact. If he was a (lamentably) inattentive driver, he might not have realized that he was involved. In fact, if, as rdowns said (some witnesses said the bus was speeding) has anything to it, "cut off" might have been due to the truck driver misjudging how fast the bus was going. We can string him up, yes, but only after all the facts are in.
A speeding vehicle is not an excuse to clip it while changing lanes.
an unsafe lane change is hard to defend ... and not noticing a Large Bus Crashing in your mirrors is also evidence of not paying attention.

Zarathustra,
Thank you for the post.
To clarify:
As the Director of Promotion and Marketing, I oversee the promotional materials produced by all subdivisions within my organization -- HR's included.
The major difference between "public relations" and "promotion" is that HR's relationship with the outside world exists to serve potential STAFF, whereas Promotion -- my division -- exists to serve potential CLIENTS.
Human Resources is natively concerned with getting people on board, while general materials promo is designed to interest potential clients in our products and services.
And, being among the largest consulting groups on the planet, it is hardly appropriate to deem Pacific "usual".

I am not excited about this information being stored. However, until there is proof that the data actually gets sent back to Apple, I think Apple gets a temporary pass on this. But they are going to need to prove it in the media.
Using my iPhone and iPad, it is obvious that some information about my location gets stored. I just wish that the cache would be cleaned every few days or something. Heck, if its location can't be stored how am I going to use the find me feature.
Also cell phone data is being used to also give traffic flow data on sites like google maps: http://www.cellint.com/traffic_data/traffic_system.html

I purchased a Moshi Mini DP to HDMI adapter from the online Apple store, and it arrived today. Upon opening and plugging in the HDMI, the adapter made a small crack and literally fell apart.
Would I be able to take this in for an exchange at the store?

Is there any reason why we would bother using #include now that we have #import?
The code here:
Use include once. I wonder why

Hey,
So I got a new 11" MacBook Air with the ext. SuperDrive and am looking to install Windows 7 on it.
Fired up Boot Camp and downloaded the drivers... crawled along slowly but surely (looked like it would take ~1 hour to complete) and decided to take a quick shower while waiting.
15 minutes later I got back to the Mac and was surprised to see that it had completed the download already, and was prompting me to transfer it to some form of external media. Burned it to a CD-R, verification was OK and all seems well.
Just anal about things like this and I'd like to see if anyone could verify that the exact file size is '559,398,912 bytes' (559.4MB on disk)(this is on a CD, not a flash drive)? Just worried since the download seemed to have completed unusually quick, on my normally slow-as-molasses network (oh, and someone on another forum mentioned that the file was 562MB...)
I would get a MD5 hash but don't know any checksum checkers for Mac OS X.
Thanks!

Nope. If you have legitimate access to the "Developer Preview" then you have access to the Developer forum. There's no other options.

I finally got mine today. Hooray for persistence!
Great to hear! I got mine on launch, but now the wife wants one so I'll be in the hunt. Are they getting a wide variety of models daily? I'll be searching for a white AT&T 16 or 32. Still handing out tickets in the morning?

I can understand why photographers (and stock companies) get worried by this but as a designer I tend to agree with the notjustjay and THX1139.
The best thing you can have as designer is good repeat clients. People who obviously copy / steal work don't get repeat work as it will always lack the context and thinking. We're all ideas magpies - everything we create is based on something else (try drawing an alien drawing that looks like nothing on earth for example) so trying to 'own' ideas is rather difficult. I 'culturally borrow' - you 'rip off' etc etc
Also I find huge copyright slapped across speculative submissions etc vaguely insulting, every time I view it it reminds me forcibly and loudly that you don't trust me - an obviously lores image and perhaps subtle copyright is both sensible and enough in my opinion.

iphone 3G on 4.1? ouch. I suggest downgrading to 3.1.2 or 3.1.3. These firmwares are a lot faster on your phone and you dont really get much on 4.0/.1. If you do end up restoring to solve this problem, i suggest downgrading.
What tool did you use to jailbreak? Is there anything installed from cydia that could affect this? like batterypercentage?

The 24h outage ended about 3 hours early. BOINC is fully back online. SETI has the servers powered up but is not currently accepting or giving out WU. It looks like it will be a few hours before SETI has fully recovered its servers.
