I know it is possible to hook two monitors up to the current gen Mac mini by connecting one to the Mini DisplayPort and the other to the HDMI port. What I am curious about is how well this configuration works. Does anybody have two 2560 x 1920 monitors hooked up to a Mac mini? How well does it work? Any performance issues?
The HDMI port on the Mac Mini has a max resolution of 1920x1200. It does not support dual-link DVI displays.
That said, I've got three 1920x1080 displays on my Mini and it works great. Third display is driven by a DisplayLink USB video adapter, so that isn't fantastic, but the other two native displays are fine.

iPods are usually refreshed on a annual basis sometime in September. That being said, they did not refresh the iPod classic last time around. I think you're safe to buy.

I had an Otterbox defender and loved it too. Unfortunately, after about a week it started creaking and moving around under the silicon (i.e. the two halves of the case would move in relation to each other).
Otterbox were fantastic and replaced it for me FOC (they just shipped one from the USA to the UK completely FOC and didn't ask for the old one back)
However, after a couple of months, the replacement started doing exactly the same and I ended up having to tape it together under the silicon to hold it together.
Basically, I think what happened is that the clips stopped holding the case together tightly over time (I'd taken it out a few times), and for that reason I'd definitely recommend keeping it in the case 24/7 otherwise you could end up with the same problem I had

I was looking at the mac mini with snow leopard server. I would use it for my work, but I have a few apps on the current server that only run on windows. Is there a way that I can run those apps on the mini server? I know I have a couple of programs that use microsoft.net.

I like Option 2 very much. Not a big fan of the bed being right next to the radiator in Option 3.

I thought when you sync an iPod to a computer, it would update its time according to the computer/laptop.

My brother has Bose and for me I would say the jay's or klipsh on and on not a Bose fan. With emi's or any speakers it's all a matter of opinion any way. Some like heavy bass some don't. Also different people hear different tones. Etc etc.
Are you talking about Bose Headphones or Bose speaker systems? I have a Bose speaker systme and I think it works great. I have auditioned the QuietComfort 15, QuietComfort 3, and the QuietComfort 2 (which was actually pretty decent for $450) and they aren't that good when it comes to headphones and IEM's.

This sucks I work at Costco and I know for a fact that because Apple gave a exclusive deal to SAMs Costco got mad and when supplies of ALL Apple products run out at Costco there will be NO more! No iPods or iTunes gift cards of any kind. This is Costco's way of playing hard ball with Apple. Each Costco building sold about $200k of Apple products per month!!! That WILL affect Apple! After all Apple should know that Costco will offer FAR better service for iPad sales than Sams! Eventually Apple WILL come around and Costco will begin to sell Apple products again
Guys....this is like his first post and he knows for "fact". Come on partner show us some facts or move along.

Hello everyone.
Firstly I'd just like to thank everyone who commented in my refurbished macbook air thread, the responses were valuable and I am only waiting to see if the price drops on refurbs if there is a refresh. This question is from a friend of mine with an ultimate 13 inch, and he was wondering if its possible to underclock the 2.13 ghz processor down to 2 flat. He said its getting hot while using video editing programs. Is this possible?

You'll be surprised at how quickly and how much you can pick up just by playing round. Obviously books are good for exploring the more difficult/hidden aspects of the OS but it really is fairly easy to pick up. There are a few different things to get used to, like an app doesn't quit when you close it, but on the whole it makes a lot of sense...and remember keyboard shortcuts are your friends!

No, it was not vague. However, it is possibly illegal. M4V is MP4 with Apple iTunes DRM as an option. The OP is asking about breaking DRMed files.
I simply don't think that is the case here. Handbrake DOES generate m4v files. He isn't talking about apple DRM, which is only one feature of m4v.

Does anyone think Apple might be porting the iOS Remote.app to the desktop? Currently I'm using a bunch of Applescripts to control my remote library. It's a simple mirror of my local library, so I'm able to tell the remote instance of iTunes to play any music I've selected locally in my iTunes app. It works surprisingly well but feels a little too "abstract" for my taste. I'm actually thinking of turning it into a simple app myself, but I feel it might be a lot of wasted effort for a solution that would not work nearly as well as one developed by Apple directly.
I know I could just use VNC, but using iTunes on my local computer is a lot more enjoyable.

If your SuperDrive works, get a DVD and burn it. Trust me it's easier.
