I am trying to run OS 9.2.2 on a TiBook 1GHz that I recently obtained, but it did not come with the original restore discs (10.2.1 and 9.2.2). Seems that there was no retail release for this OS version so I have been stuck searching for a while now. Anyone know where I can buy these discs or know anyone that would be willing to share a copy with me? Apple customer service is no help, and that is understandable considering how old the machine is. Thank you.

If that Macbook is the same one I found with a Google search, it's not a prototype. You can make it satin by rubbing a Mr. Clear Magic Eraser on the casing. Not only that, it's been repaired, which you can tell because the top case still has the plastic that Apple ships the replacement top cases with, and the most obvious issue of all.. YOU CAN'T GET APPLECARE ON YOUR PROTOTYPE.

Hey, I have been looking at doing some high-end video work in the future and the person I work with uses SDXC cards in his cameras. Is there support for them in my MacBook? I want to make sure before I say I can help, and then embarrassed for not know what's up with my own laptop.

Boinc on Osx 10.57 doesn't crunch with the Nvidia 9400m?
While I was trying out Win 7 I installed Boinc and Seti@home was crunching with the cpu and gpu.
As far as I know Nvidia and ATI have bugs in the drivers that will not be fixed for GPU crunching until snow leopard is out and new science apps are written to take advantage of it. I think Open CL is the programing API that fixes this with new drivers and OSX side stuff. I am told the science apps will need to be recompiled and maybe rewritten. I have questions posted on the BOINC and SETI message boards asking about this.

Zepp,
Download Handbrake (providing youre on a mac). then, download VLC.
Next, open Handbrake.
Insert DVD.
Select where you want file stored(in handbrake).
Start Handbrake.
Once the program is done, you will see the file in .Mp4
You can drag that into iTunes and it will sync to your iPad.

While working in Windows XP on my iMac, I believe I inadvertently removed the driver for the built in audio device - the IDT High Definition Audio CODEC. And so now I have no sound on my computer. I have tried reinstalling the driver, but at the end of the installation process it says that the device cannot start. My system automatically detects the device as new hardware when I restart the computer but even though I have removed and and tried to reinstall the the driver several times, I cannot get it to work.
When I go through the device troubleshooter, it tells me to detach the problem device and reattach it. However, the audio device is built into my mac, so that is not an option. I would appreciate any help with this problem.
I pasted that in because it happened to me, exactly the same way.

I did a job in Illustrator , converted a Photoshop file and then did live trace.
I thought vectors were beyond dpi. My client is saying, the source DPI must be changed???
Does anyone know if vector files can differ due to source file? Even after live being Vectorized???
Thanks,
Freedom

Who cares what people wear? it doesnt tell you who the person really is so even if his clothes arnt "designer" and "expensive" why does it matter?
The CEO of the products you love so much has worn the same damn thing for 10+ years...
Another post of valour.
Clothes or the things you have do NOT make WHO you are ... your actions, words, and the people you keep (their actions & words) are who YOU are.
Why is this so hard to understand?
Ah maybe its because we're beyond Technicolour (80's or before),
maybe its because we care MORE about how we look, dress - the presentation,
maybe its because so many front (lie, cheat, swindle - not to be confused with hustling) to make a name for themselves to get a foot in the door. I understand you gotta puff up your chest to get the hottest or sweetest gal ... but to represent yourself continually beyond that first impression. Not worth it.
Suits ... and tie's derived from Military (Tie's are from the scarves of Croatian army's).
Let just leave the realization that iPhone's touch technologies have finally transcended languages and generations in a short span of 4 years.

This is an Apple site, not a science site. There is a justification for having iPhone forums on an Apple site. There isn't a good justification for having a Science forum on an Apple site. At least, nobody's put forth a good one yet.

I believe I didn't make myself terribly clear. Not terribly interested in random discussions of science, or even the science behind Apple products. More...the use of Apple's in research. Their interests, especially in terms of performance, are vastly different even than other pro-users.
CalBoy's idea is also a good one - if there isn't enough volume for "Macs in Higher Ed", is there enough volume for "Macs in the Workplace?".

There can't be a thread about Cedar Point without what's-his-face who is obsessed with the place.
I kinda know who you are talking about. Doesn't he have "future CEO of Ceder Point" or something like that in his sig.?

Well, it has nothing to do with the fact that this particular method has a selector as a parameter, it has to do with the fact that the sort code needed to perform four comparisons between elements of the array. There are functions ike qsort which takes a function pointer, or qsort_b which takes a block parameter; they would call their comparison code four times with this data just as sortUsingSelector.
Let's play a game. I have four different numbers a, b, c and d. You have to sort them, but I don't tell you what the values are. If you ask me which of two numbers (for example a and d) is the smaller one, I will tell you. How many questions do you have to ask?

While it is reasonable to wish to change your posting, I believe you overstep yourself by villifying the moderators for not taking care of your request. They probably have more in their lives than just catering to personal whims. Besides, if in the end you can' t change it, either post a contradictory message to advise against the song, or use it as a learning experience and don't post before you are sure of yourself.

I've bought a used mac mini as well as a larger/faster hard drive that I plan to replace the existing hard drive with. I'm pretty new with replacing hardware o I'm not sure what the best way would be to install snow Leopard on the new disc.
What I'd like to have is a new drive with a fresh install. I could care less about any of the existing files from the original hard drive so I don't need to back anything up. My question is can I install the new hard drive and then just insert Snow Leopard or do i have to do something else? Thanks for the help.

Wish SwitchEasy had just a case like Colors but made in TPU. Don't like the look of other cases by them.
