if it's still under warranty, take it in. If they apple guys find something wrong, it'll get replaced under warranty. No need to operate on the mac yourself.

the game was amazing when i got it, but after a while it kinda got boring. i got the Thieves Den expansion and the uh.. magic one.. from OXM for free, but it still wasn't enough to get me back into. The Shimmering Isles or something is a huge expansion coming out soon and i might give that a try.

Are the reburbisheds just as good as the new ones?
Yes, they are, and they're covered by the same warranty as new.

Now that Apple has the double your RAM for $40 deal, do you revise your predictions on an update this or next month? I hope not.... but I'm so indecisive about when to buy.

Clearly it is a display bug. And why hasn't it been fixed yet? Anyone else experiencing something similar? Note that it is not a persistent bug. It seems to occur only when certain apps are running in a certain order. So you may not even notice it straight away. But it does happen. Have a look:

No, I mean the toolbar itself, as you can see in the following attachment. The drop-down menu is fine.
Eh? The font is about the same size as Camino and Safari. Though I did notice the bold looked off in aqua so I had just gotten rid of it. I had some major font inconsistancy going on.

The potentially bad part about this investigation is during the time of the options Apple had no "compensation committee".All compensation was approved by the board of directors. This could put Jobs in a bad position.
I think this was SOP at most corporations until recently.

I bet they'll make a Nano Classic. Basically a Classic with flash memory.
Or maybe they'll make an original Nano, and the 6G Nano will be the Shuffle.

I've looked at the specs and all, but I think for the same price, a desktop and a macbook air is what's currently holding my interest... The boosts in performance in gaming and handbrake encodes outweighs lack of gaming portability. Plus, I won't have to deal with buying windows separately and the whole dual-boot shenanigans.
Now, what to get... I do want a quad core, though. I'll be converting my movie library to 1080p files. (all james bond movies and the entire monty python's flying circus!) And having it run quiet would be a bonus. hmm...

Here's what I used in terminal:
cp -Rp ~/Desktop /Volumes/Files
chmod -R -N ~/Desktop
rm -rf ~/Desktop
ln -s /Volumes/Files/Desktop ~/Desktop
Didn't work, caused errors. anyone know why?

I've used a lot of routers over the years, and the WRT54G is the best I've come across. Linksys (imo) have the best looking ones (apart from Apple of course) and the best interface.
The WRT54G also has a fairly big selection of 3rd party firmware for it, the best of which is, in my opinion, Wifi-Box's releases.
This (http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/wifi-box/wfb_2.02.2.6-tp.zip?download) is the firmware that I've been using since it was released, and it's been 100% stable on me. It adds quite a few new features, one of which lets you change the transmit power.
By default, it's at 25% this lets you go all the way up to 100% However, it's recommended not to go over 50% unless you open the router up and add a fan, as it starts to overheat.

Doesn't opening the Illustrator file in Photoshop rasterize the file? There should have been a dialog box asking at what resolution the vectors should be rasterized, right?

How do you export video with a small file size and maintain high quality? For example, a lot of pirated movies are about 1 gig file size, look fantastic and they are about 2 hours long. Does anyone know of a guide or something that takes you through the steps to create this kind of high quality/low file size result? I don't want it for pirating purposes, pirated files are just the best example I know of good quality:file size ratio.
Thanks in advance and I'm sorry if there's already another thread about this. I searched and could not find it.

I wonder if Leo Laporte hired him at TWiT. On one of the shows the other day, he said they had a new employee coming in, but didn't say who it was.
That would be awesome! I love Leo and the TWiT podcasts.
