haha Mr ezekielrage_99, real funny, you are a TWIT, i wasnt asking for free design, ive done my 10 years plus pal, i was just simply asking for maybe a direction with technique as its something i would like to master, basically i tried a few tutorials, but nothing was cutting, i needed something special, thats why i asked the forum, because i would expect to find descent helpful designers trying help out a fellow designer, thats what design is all about, sharing your knowledge, not being a tight arse like yourself.

I know way back when in system 9 when you got info on a picture the web address was right in that info,
...This works for me in MacOS X with just about any file that I download from the Internet. Has your wife tried Get Info... or is this a preemptive question?

There's this awesome show called "MythBusters" and they tested this theory out-- it is true, using the AC kills fuel economy when compared to just having the windows down.
Two SUVs were used; exact same specs, model, everything... Same exact amount of fuel put in and one driver blasted the AC the whole time while the other drove w/ the windows down. They drove around and around an open race track. Although the data was screwy nobody could deny the truth because the AC using SUV rolled to a standstill over a half an hour before the windows-down SUV did.
Weird. Theory is that the opposite is true. Even tests I've read about have claimed that turning on the A/C and keeping your windows shut is the best way to save fuel at mid to high speeds, while at lower speeds it matters very little.

Great post & well done.
It's great to see one so young (going by your profile), so passionate about such old equipment. :)
As an old fart who remembers doing component level repair on those Power/Sweep boards, floppy drives and motherboards when the exchange price of a Power/Sweep was AU$450.00, it makes me appreciate somebody taking the time to go this far.
At least when I'm gone there will be those who care enough to keep these curios going. :D
I work as an Apple Tech these days (training complete, pending certification). My co-workers in the service department are all technicians of the mid to late 80's, having worked on these Compact systems when they were brand new. However I don't think they appreciated it as much. Something tells me they were never expecting or hoping to see one of these again. Oh well.
There's just one thing that bugs me about this machine, and that's the fact that the Analog Board has 2 lifted traces, mainly caused by the aging of the board and the harsh weather conditions it was subjected to. They lifted with almost no effort during the capacitor replacement. I've since secured and epoxied them down, but i'll always know that at least one part of the machine had to be patched up. I briefly considered starting over with the Mac Plus analog board but I threw that idea out the window once I saw that the condition of it was significantly worse than the 512's.
I had hoped to build another system like this, perhaps with a 128k as the platform, armed with the knowledge of the first build on what to do (and more importantly what not to do). At this stage I have yet to find a machine that fits the bill as the dead ones are usually already dumped and the working ones are fetching decent amounts with no sign of the prices falling as of yet.

When you first launched this DailyTunes website, I asked Arn if we would be able to get songs that we no longer recommended deleted. He replied that he might implement a way to remove songs that have no recommendations. Upon hearing that, I have submitted many, many songs.
Well, months later, there are several songs which I no longer recommend and they have zero recommendations or just mine (at this point). Music is like fashion and people, being human, change their minds. Since my handle/name is attached to and displayed by the songs I submitted, I think it is reasonable to allow me to remove that song. If for some reason the good people at DailyTunes feel that they can't bear to delete any songs, at least consider removing my handle from the song so that I am no longer associated with it.
Come on guys, DailyTunes is supposed to be fun - it's not some crusty old institution.
I am asking that you delete those songs without recommendations upon request of the original submitter. I started with 1 song to see what would happen and frankly I didn't think it would take this much effort to persuade someone to do it.

Hi all,
I have a late 2007 24" Al iMac with BT and AirPort. I just ordered a Kindle Wi-Fi only from Amazon. I don't have (or want) a wireless modem.
Anyone know if I will be able to access the web by running the Kindle wefi to the iMac BT? I think both use the 802.11b/g/n standard.
Thanks for any info.
Bluetooth and most 802.11 devices use the same 2.4ghz frequency but you can't use one with the other, you have to have both ends on the same technology.
You can use Internet sharing from something like ethernet to wifi.

I was watching the 'keynote' Bill Gates gave yesterday and one of his lackies demoed something similar to time machine where you can go back to an older version of a document and he says.. "It's better than going back in Time"... uh, not. There was no way to see different versions of the document and what about documents that are no longer there at all? Not!. M$ is a cheap immitation. Try again MS

OSX shields you from getting into some of the nuts and bolts of things. This can be good or bad depending on whether you like to delve into such stuff.
I disagree with this. I delve plenty in to OS X. I know exactly what the OP is talking about, but believe me, it's not just him.
Microsoft has taken a liking to randomly re-arranging their GUI for no reason and in horribly illogical ways. I still use XP and Office 2003 at work, and find myself often frustrated when supporting a user on Windows 7 and Office 2010 (or worse, Vista), because the changes are so arbitrary.

my friend gave me a old xbox (it didn't work). i opened it up it has the old samsung drive in it. i took a q tip and slightly dampened it with diluted windex. and cleaned the eye on it. i looked more closely under the eye there is a clear shield to protect the laser from dust. with a small knife i lifted the eye up to be able to put a q tip with allot of its stuffing removed in there wetted with the diluted windex. i then repeated the process to make sure it was clean.
i put in a game and it worked. it still had problems reading some games so i took a string and 2 pieces of tape and taped one side of the string ot the center of the disk spindle and the other to the drive sled opposite to the front which has a hole drilled in the exact center of the drive. i also seen there was adjustments for the track for each arm. with the dvd drive case removed and everything all hooked up i turned it on allowing me to see if the laser light met the string but it didnt. so i kept turning it off and back on to get the laser to turn on and kept adjusting it till i seen the laser light was touching the string. now the xbox works flawlessly like it was new.
but be warned you can damage the drive beyond repair by lifting to high on the eye.
there is allot you can do with the xbox, i see a mod to where you take a broken xbox (something that has mobo problems and wont work at all) de solder the memory chips on the broken xbox mobo and put them in the working xbox to give it double ram (128mb ram)
i did a easy mod to mine be removing the stock IDE cables and replace it with 80 wire 40 pin ultra ATA/133 IDE cable and it does improve loading times.
you can turn it into a media center or what have you. there is basicly nothing you cant do with a old xbox. providing you install a mod chip in it ( i helped a friend install one on his and boy was it a PITA to do)

I'd buy it....
Maybe you can reduce the price "the final week" to 99 cents, then back up to $2.99 after... ;)
LOL...
If I were a bank, I'd offer high interest "dooms-day" loans, 3 months no payments, same as cash. :)
Also, where the hell is the Dooms Day parody of Rebecca Black's Friday? Westboro Baptist Church, I am disappoint.
