Hi guys.
Whats the best, and most efficient way, to convert a Blue ray movie (BD) to DVD format? Toast or Handbrake.
Which would be quicker ?
The resulting movie would be dumped into iDVD and adding menu-ing to burn as a DVD project. Or if done via Toast.

I'm desperately hoping for this to be the much-needed AppleTV update. I spent my Apple TV money on an iPad (which I LOVE; it's perfect for school), but I would eat rice noodles for a month to purchase a new AppleTV.
The only thing that bums me out is that we're unlikely to see native Netflix support. However, with the rumored inclusion of iOS features (like an app store) may mitigate that.
What are you guys looking for out of an AppleTV hardware update? I'm hoping for 1080p and a better ventilation/heat sink situation. The AppleTV today gets ridiculously (almost worryingly) hot.
It is not like there are no alternatives.
Here is an example:
http://www.wdc.com/en/products/index.asp?cat=30
It supports more than you think and has good reviews:
http://www.wdc.com/en/products/Products.asp?DriveID=734
You can even install your own firmware, if you want.
And no, i do not work for them.

If you were cheeky and sold them all on, you would make a substantial amount of money! But it kind of is illegal so don't do it!
Yeah, I will never do that. Not just cases, but all the other electronics...wooh. :D

Hello,
What i could like to create is a box, where the user will put in there username and password, and it will then fill it in on the main website.
I have placed a tempory exmaple of my site HERE (http://hampshiredoeyouthforum.uphero.com/edofe.html).
Let me know if you would like more details.

I have an iPhone and just got it. Old one got stolen and I got the free bumper with it, but I was wondering if there was any way to get a free bumper now?
I still have the problem when I hold the band on the left and if I go into an Apple Store and show them this will they pull a bumper off the shelves for me?

It's a shame they're quite small and grainy. They're amazing as they are but properly done - I don't think I'd change my desktop picture ever again.

Just something I threw together this morning to show my support through participation. Haven't been able to hang out too much lately.

I think conventional wisdom says there will be a MP update this year to give the entire line TB. (Toss up if the Mac Mini and MB will survive, but isn't that always the case). I know the SNB Xeons Apple will likely use for the next MP won't be out until later this year, but I have to wonder if Intel might give Apple early dibs b/c of it's partnership with Apple on TB. It would be pretty sweet if a TB MP was announced at WWDC along with a new TB monitor, FCS, and 10.7.

Due to all the freaking hacking
Not even fun
My brother had all his stats, levels, classes, everything wiped due to some hacker who gets a kick in the pants from being an utter dick
i agree dude...it sucks ass!
i have moved over to Battlefield: Bad Company 2 - waiting for 3 now though..hopefully the beta will be out soon

I was just editing my post to mention that Collatz has made some great progress but you beat me to it!
Let's hope this is a harbinger of things to come across many BOINC mac apps!

Boinc on Osx 10.57 doesn't crunch with the Nvidia 9400m?
While I was trying out Win 7 I installed Boinc and Seti@home was crunching with the cpu and gpu.
As far as I know Nvidia and ATI have bugs in the drivers that will not be fixed for GPU crunching until snow leopard is out and new science apps are written to take advantage of it. I think Open CL is the programing API that fixes this with new drivers and OSX side stuff. I am told the science apps will need to be recompiled and maybe rewritten. I have questions posted on the BOINC and SETI message boards asking about this.

Yeah, it's probably not a good idea to eat any wild animals or insects near Fukushima. Milk from cows in that area has already been restricted due to contamination and they're asking farmers to keep the cows inside barns. They'll be testing agricultural and seafood.

Honestly, it looks like a really ugly post-processed depth-of-field effect. Probably just did gaussian blur instead of lens blur. Then they masked out (or masked in) the parts they wanted in focus.

I'm going to guess Apple doesn't want to change the shape of the iPod touch. It's very thin already, and has been established as a capable device.
Most people think there is to be a camera on the ipod touch which there will have to a hole in the back.

Great song! What are your influences? Reminds me of Breaking Benjamin, don't know if you like them or not.
The vocals are great and I especially love the guitar on this track.
If I get around to making my own music myself, I'll probably use that site. Although, what I would play is most likely something indie, even though I like many types of music.

Is there enough demand to consider adding a "Science and Scientific Computing" special interest group? Macs have always been fairly visible in academic research, and the discussion topics are similar, but fairly tangental to something like the Mac coding subforum.
