Do you know where Chrome stores its bookmarks file? If you can find it, restoring just that one file will do the trick. Note: You'll have to do this manually, without the help of the Time Machine interface or Migration Assistant.

Since 10.6.4 I've experienced many Video Related problems, corrupt video data, slow performance and constant PS CS5 and Aperture 3 freezes and beach balls...(I use an Nvidia GTX 285 and a GT120 hooked up to 2 Monitors)
The whole computer is slow and unresponsive at times. I think I'm gonna be forced to reinstall Snow Leopard and go back to 10.6.3...

I'm trying to narrow down my choices of what to search for on Ebay to replace a couple of my ancient Macs.

I bought a Mac Plus in 89 and then a Performa 200 in 92 basically for one purpose, which was to run a program I have that controls automation on a studio recording console made back in those times. I still have the program (800kb floppy and a bunch of safety copies) and the console, although the Macs died a few years ago. I was running OS6 or 7 on those old Macs.

Anyway.. I'm going to return to using the console and I really don't want to buy an eBay Mac Plus, or Performa, but would rather get something from that era that used a larger display compared to the teeny 9" b&w on the Plus/Performa.

The program manual from my last 1994 upgrade of the software (before the software maker discontinued it) shows compatible Macs being Mac Plus..se..se30..II, IIcx, IIci, IIsi, LC, Classic, or Classic II. Performa was never on the list but worked fine as I think those were bascially Classics anyway. The software does not show an OS preference. What I'm sort of picking up from this list is that the software was basically designed for the 68030 based Macs.

Anyone have a clue of what may happen if I try to run this on later 68040 or Powerpc based Macs that appeared later in time?

This may be too vague of a question since you all don't know this software that I have. I figured I'd ask here before biting the bullet to just buy random old Macs to test.

    I wonder which are worst:

    A) Video games based on movies, or
    B) Movies based on video games.

    Tough choice.

How about a video game based on a movie based on a video game? :)

Did you take this picture? If this is just a general thread for "Pictures from Egypt", you should at least extend the courtesy of identifying and giving credit to the photographer.

    Agreed, apologies. Fixed now.

    I just got a M8493 PowerMac G4 ysterday.

It came with a M5757 AirPort Base Station and a M5769 Pro Mouse. This is not the white one.. it's the silver/gray one.

The AirPort didn't come with a power supply so I was wondering what M part number the AC Adapter is.

I heard that this G4 supports PC133 RAM. Which type?

It supposedly has 764MB, has the 933MHz chip and a super drive in it, and the Apple 120GB hard drive.

It works great. The first preview raped my air, but this second one seems to use system resources much much better.

If you have any worries about it, developer preview 2 runs great and much better than 1 if you had tried it out.

Right now I have Safari open and nothing else, system seems to idle just about where SL did.

While working in Windows XP on my iMac, I believe I inadvertently removed the driver for the built in audio device - the IDT High Definition Audio CODEC. And so now I have no sound on my computer. I have tried reinstalling the driver, but at the end of the installation process it says that the device cannot start. My system automatically detects the device as new hardware when I restart the computer but even though I have removed and and tried to reinstall the the driver several times, I cannot get it to work.

When I go through the device troubleshooter, it tells me to detach the problem device and reattach it. However, the audio device is built into my mac, so that is not an option. I would appreciate any help with this problem.

I pasted that in because it happened to me, exactly the same way.

But the real deal breaker for me was the lack of a physical pause button. I don't want to have to grab the nano, turn it on, aim for the pause button, before I can hear the outside world.

You could buy an inline remote if that was your only problem - I use this with my iPod Touch: http://www.griffintechnology.com/products/headphone-control-adapter

I think that should work with the nano too.

Well, if you're going to throw kids music into the mix, then don't forget Sharon, Lois, and Bram.

Now look what you've done. I've got The Elephant Song stuck in my head.

This sucks I work at Costco and I know for a fact that because Apple gave a exclusive deal to SAMs Costco got mad and when supplies of ALL Apple products run out at Costco there will be NO more! No iPods or iTunes gift cards of any kind. This is Costco's way of playing hard ball with Apple. Each Costco building sold about $200k of Apple products per month!!! That WILL affect Apple! After all Apple should know that Costco will offer FAR better service for iPad sales than Sams! Eventually Apple WILL come around and Costco will begin to sell Apple products again

What kind of "exclusive deal"? And BTW, wouldn't that loss of $200k a month have also have a substantial negative impact for Costco then for Apple? If that number is true we are talking about $100 000 000 per month in declined sales.

How do you export video with a small file size and maintain high quality? For example, a lot of pirated movies are about 1 gig file size, look fantastic and they are about 2 hours long. Does anyone know of a guide or something that takes you through the steps to create this kind of high quality/low file size result? I don't want it for pirating purposes, pirated files are just the best example I know of good quality:file size ratio.

Thanks in advance and I'm sorry if there's already another thread about this. I searched and could not find it.

Came across this video someone took right outside the Apple Store in Tokyo. Not really much to see but thought I'd pass it along:

Yes, as you said, not much to see. Did they evacuate the store?

Ya, I'd wait for 10.5, then buy the new Mac. And after that save up for you console(which I'd say not the PS3, but I'm sure you've looked at the other system, or have the both)

yep. have a wii... absolutely love it. now i want another set-up. looked into the 360 but the PS3 sounds like a better buy. (blu-ray drive vs. standrd dvd drive; built-in wireless vs. not built in wireless; free internet vs. not free internet; 60 gig HDD vs. 20 gig HDD; HDMI vs. no HDMI... any questions?) i need a mac more though because this computer set-up that i have (12'' G4 powerbook) is seeing its age. just posted this question to get a little input. thtnk you guys!
