Is there anyone off to Eldon Square on Friday? If so what time are people getting there?
I had pre-ordered mine but theres no change in the status of it still not shipped looks like I might be queuing!
Well unfortunately after seeing the UK prices, and blowing my money on other things, ill be ordering one in from the states via a few tax avoiding methods so unfortunately will not be there on friday.
Oh and i have an exam :(

@MechaSpanky, someone could still take a screenshot and apply some simple Photoshop (as MacDawg has said).
Yes, that is true and it is a very good point but I still think that a locked PDF file (with the editing capabilities restricted) will deter most people who might think about stealing your stuff. Sure there are others out there that will take the time to download a high res screen capture utility (you will have to actually download a program to do this as the normal screen capture on Macs is 72 ppi, which is low res) but I would imagine that most companies wouldn't do that. It is the same problem that software companies face with piracy. There will always be people who can and will steal stuff, but the majority will not.
I myself, as a designer have been asked to submit samples of my work for review by clients. I have never had anyone steal any of my work (although there have been a couple of companies that might have "borrowed" some of my design ideas but that is even harder to prevent). Just to be safe, I always use a PDF with restricted editing capabilities and I also add a watermark. Sure someone can get around this but it will take them a while to do it (never underestimate the power of a well placed watermark, it can make retouching an image very difficult if positioned correctly).
In the end, I would imagine that the best thing to do is to make sure that you can trust the people who you are dealing with. Of course this is not always an option (nor is it an easy thing to determine).

can't you just get a fresh microsim from at&t?
Shouldn't they be happy to provide you with a sim if you subscribe to an ipad data plan?

Definitly Retail discs. I have the Grey disks from that model, which are also tiger disks and it spits them out also.
I can understand if the disk drive went bad, But why is it not letting me install via USB image.
The USB image drive works on my mac mini

Quote from WebView docs.
- (void)setCustomUserAgent:(NSString *)userAgentString
Parameters
userAgentString
The custom user-agent string. The user-agent string is used by websites to identify the client browser. The custom user-agent string is used for all URLs. If nil, then the receiver constructs a user-agent string that produces the best rendering results for each URL.

so everybody can buy an imac, try it and return it used after 14 days and apple doesnt care? that doesnt make much sense
Everyone can, but not everyone does. I didn't, for one...!
It makes perfect sense. Many vendors have 'NQA' return periods. It demonstrates a confidence in the product, and encourages those buyers 'on the fence' to give it a try.

It is in the beginning between these two:
@synthesize window=_window;
@synthesize myViewController=_myViewController;
I don't see why it would be spitting that error at you ... very weird.
Could you upload the project somewhere for me to download?

Use the transfer purchases function.
You can still get your apps back just Download them again in iTunes, it will look like it will charge you, but once you click buy it will say you've already purchased and allow you to get it again. Doesn't work for music and videos tho.

Question about ethics:
If i originally posted it for $120 shipped but get a higher offer shortly after the first "dibs" (fairly substantial) is it faux pas to sell to the higher bidder?

CS4 was a nightmare on my Mac, so I couldn't wait for CS5. But it's been pretty underwhelming for me. While the Adobe apps no longer crash continually, they are really sluggish in SL. PS images opened faster on my old PowerMac G5 with CS1. Even GIMP running through X11 is faster. Flash is still an incomprehensible mess, and getting worse instead of better. I don't know where to lay blame for Adobe's products, but in the end it only will hurt Apple. When I see others running CS5 flawlessly on a PC, I start to think maybe it's time to switch back....
Both Flash CS5, Photoshop CS5 as well as Lightroom 3 works AWESOMELY on 10.5.8 (haven't had a chance to test other stuff properly)
When I say awesomely I mean not a single crash so far, speed has improved drastically and I also haven't noticed any bugs either...
So don't think about Windows - its horrible OS - just go back to 10.5.8 :)

Hi All,
can someone please help me out with creating a logo that looks like a wispy cloud, ive tried countless times but my end result is rather disappointing, render/clouds isn't cutting it either.
it has to look spot on and natural.
Thanks Chester.

2008 black mac. has 1 dead memory slot. no warranty. originally had 2 sticks of 512 memory. now we have 1 stick of 1gb memory. college student says it is super slow. waking from sleep mode, takes 5 minutes to go online. its not my computer so i cannot verify that it is slow. she says it barely runs. is there any software functions that can be done to speed it up so its close to original performance? i am old school pc. i say reload software/os? does that even help on a mac? people complain on this site that mac is slow? what does the exactly mean? a hardware issue or something else?

You're not going to get many people buying that just because the same tool is available on the internet for free. Yeah it's a little easier to use, but not 49.99 easier. I like Wolfram, I use it a little less than regularly for different things. It's great. Just don't see anyone buying this. Anyone who uses it enough to buy an app like that is probably going to be using it on their desktop/laptop more.

That's why record sales of Macs continued unabated, right?
They sold more Macs than ever last year without those adverts.

My eyesight is not great. From time to time i use my iphone 4 while not wearing my reading glasses. My issue: web sites like yahoo, mac rumors, etc have a iphone-friendly format of their sites to fit a lot of content in a limited landscape. I get it. But what I don't get is why I can not use the pinch and expand gestures on these sites so that I can expand the text size so that I can read the damned pages that are rendered like on other sites.
Is there a remedy for this issue?

I found a temporary workaround for 2011 MBP owners. After doing the latest update, boot in SL and navigate to the Update folder mentioned above and delete the ProductMetadata.plist file. Then reboot and the Lion should boot as per normal
Note that you'll have to do this every time you want to boot Lion which is strange but there you go. I'm typing this from the latest build of Lion on a 2011 MBP.
